I am an MT, meaning I run bloodwork at my local hospital for a living. They are not elevated enough to worry right now. But you are right take it easy on things that will damage your liver since the meds do that already. When you get up in the 100s or more than you want to worry and think about liver failure. Good luck and it’s amazing how far you have come!!! ❤️ from Florida!

Have recently been told that my bones r hard as rocks (not that I advocate not using hormones etc if prescribed by ur Doc); young people, especially girls, during their growth years should drink plenty of milk etc (no silly diets) cos the calcium helps in ur later years - but even 4 who is older "keep on slurping those milkshakes"! Does it? I have friends who developed horrible stress fractures from running. Interesting to know it strengthens bones! I had no idea!!
@ioannah.3 жыл бұрын
@@jlcollins7673 yeah it does! I have CF and when I developed osteopenia a while ago running and weight training was recommended to see if we could put off medication, cause the medication for osteoporosis is quite hectic. weight training and exercise where there is some kind of impact is good, like dancing, running, boxing etc. It seems like it should do the opposite but putting some stress on your bones actually strengths them. Did you friends not have really bad osteoporosis maybe? Cause running shouldn’t to my mind cause that kind of damage with just osteopenia (I’m not doubting you! Just asking)

@Cystik1 hey man I just got my liver enzymes tests back and mine were very slightly elevated but they weren't too concerned. So you know how you're not supposed to eat grapefruits because of the way your liver metabolizes it blocks certain pharmaceuticals from being broken down the right way and spikes your liver enzymes, well it turns out CBD does the exact same thing so when you're smoking pot or eating and edible you have to make sure it doesn't have CBD in it because it will fuck you up!!! I made the mistake of starting CBD and Symdeko on the same day without even realizing the effects and after a week my liver actually became swollen and my enzymes shot up like crazy so I had to stop taking it for almost a year, you and Steph be weary now

I know you said you’re not panicked and you mentioned not praying etc but is it okay i I pray for you? I’m just a different kinda weird 😉 lol. I don’t have cf but I do have liver issues. There are things that you can take to make sure your liver can work optimally and clear out as much of your new med as it can and yes, even though you don’t look even “chubby” lol to me(I’m a wee bit chubby(I think but others tell me I’m not so maybe my knew glasses r wrong lol)) but being within your Bmi range helps your body too so just clean but enjoyable eating and then tolerable cardio ((I’m NOT a healthcare provider. I’m just sharing what I’ve been through. And nobody thinks I look my age but I’m decades older than you lol so.))You don’t need to freak out in my opinion(speaking as a mum with kids in your age range) when my bilirubin is elevated due to the enzymes, I’ll get yellow in the whites of my eyes and my face and skin, etc. And I don’t think I’d see that thru a video on you myself but just guessing you seem like your a good colour if the camera you use is fairly good. But again, that’s something to just take a peek yourself once in awhile and it can just be a sign you may need a checkup sooner. BUT I’m praying you don’t have to go through that!💜 take care hon.

Uneducated doctors though... damn. Not every session in a weight room is like what you see on WSM with the dudes popping a nosebleed. Lifting weights will increase bone density and can help improve disease like OP, arthritis etc. Strong muscles support your body better leading to less risk. Doing it wrong, or too much will injure you of course but that shouldn't be a reason to forgo entirely. You can fuck your spine up doing almost anything...heck, I slipped 4 discs getting out of bed... I've been on methotrexate before and its very hard on the liver. Hopefully there is something they can do to help it.

This might be of interest to you. www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/calcium-supplements-should-you-take-them My moms friend was diagnosed with osteopenia and put on calcium supplements. She developed a kidney stone and they think the calcium supplements were tthe cause. In countries where very little dairy is consumed, like japan, they have very low rates of osteoporosis. There is some evidence pointing to calcium supplements causing more harm and no good. Drinking cow milk and eating aa lot of cheese also seems to cause osteoporosis rather than treat it.
