If you want to make that bolt even smoother, shave down the rough edges in the laser etched serial number on the underside of the bolt. I have two 457's and I used a round green scotch pad on a die grinder to smooth out the serial numbers and then buffed the underside with some brown compound on a six inch buffing wheel. Smooth as glass!

I have that setup. I put peep sights on it, and shoot at 25 yards from back deck. It’’s a bad day if I can’t regularly put 5 in one hole. I wish CZ would have cut a dovetail for a front sight, or is that the 457 Lux?

I have the same rifle with the 16.5 inch barrel. Mine like the federal auto match stuff too. I love that it shoots that kind of bulk ammo so well. The best groups I've shot were with sk pistol match leaving ragged hole groups at 50 yards.

i got to try one last week for the first time ever, was sighting in my old 308 savage 99c when a range officer was shooting at a 2in gong at 100 yards. told him it looked super fun and asked if i could try. my first 3 shots hit the gong at 100 yards, with irons sights. he gave me 10 rounds and i managed to hit 6/10, havent shot ironsights in over a decade and this thing was singing. it sold me and im waiting to pick up one for myself and my daughter to practice.

I have the same rifle but with the stubby barrel. haven't shot any bulk ammo but I have 6 cartons of the Fed auto match your gun likes. Guess I will try it. I primarily shoot sub sonics out of all my 22's now. I enjoy the sound of the bullet hitting its target being louder that the gun. My rifle loves SK! but I save that for NRL22. Just my opinion here. Ditch those high rings and put lows on it. I think you will find the gun will point better and be easier to shoot accurately. Thanks for the great video!!!

I'm in love with that stock. Boyds did a great job. Have you compared it's accuracy, handling, etc. to the American or Scout? I'm tempted to buy the cheapest 457 and then just ordering the stock I want.

The pro varmint has a very similar stock which I believe is also by boyd's at a little lower price point. The main difference is lack of adjustments but it has a very similar feel to it and In my opinion the dimensions are just about where they need to be anyway.

You need to fire at least 15 rounds when you change manufacturer, that beds in the barrel to the lubricant used

The sk match flat nose shoots the best in my 457 - 16.5 barrel but they stopped making it. I read that the sk pistol match ammo is great in this ammo. Just got some have not tried it yet. At 50 yards I can cover the sk match flat nose with a dime. I lucked out and got about 4000 rounds of the flat nose before they all sold out.

Amen, man; this thing needs a bipod. I’ve been using Accutac with great success on my air rifles; I’ve got to adjust the swivel a bit to take the pucatinny adaptor. Then with an Armageddon gear back for the rear, I’ll be off to the races again.

This one was available at the time for a better price, but also I wanted the added length for competition. That being said, some people have reported even better accuracy with the shorter barrel. 22LR powder doesn’t take long to burn up so the shorter barre would do just fine.

Why would you hunt with this ammo when it shoots that awful? Sk standard plus is a cheap ammo but it will shoot twice that good Beagleman

The CCI really isn’t bad, BUT you’re absolutely right. I actually did a video on the SK standard plus, and it’s incredible out of the 457. The point of this video was simply to show how big box store ammo would do since it’s easily available.

@@TheDollarSportsman true that I have three cz457s vpt mtrs and they shoot standard plus really good and sk match third but the really good shooting comes from center x it Is the best it will outshoot biathlon and midas in my guns but that's good shooting brother with the ammo you were using. I really doubt that :), unless you’ve done work to it and/or are using match Ammo. Match does make a big difference in these; I’ve noticed SK Match works well in the CZ 457 (in fact a few SK flavors work well).
