FYI - You did nothing wrong at 14:00. When you inserted the bolt and closed it, you rested the action on the trigger. Most rifle bolts will not cock when the trigger is depressed while locking. This is a good way to close your bolt and don’t want to dry fire. I hope this helps. - You may not be that proficient yet but you sincerely want to learn and I‘m very impressed with the level and civil way you respond to aggressive and sarcastic comments. Keep it up!

wow good eye, I am surprised I did not feel that but I see in the video the trigger is pressing down on the table. I know I always pull the trigger when I insert the bolt for Storage and Travel. Also thanks for the kind words it is appreciated. Right now I am in the learning mode for sure but one day maybe in the teaching mode. God Bless and thanks for your comment.

Use your Allen wrench to guide the spring into the correct alignment. Slide the spring onto the Allen wrench and slide the trigger back into place....works like a charm

very good vid, I used the vid to install my YODAVE spring, with some fiddling I got mine to 9-10 oz. I also have a wheeler trigger gauge, I've found out I have to test my triggers at the very end of the trigger and pull more downward, like firing a shot, Only way I could get reliable pull weight.

I am going to install my yodave spring on my cz 457 tomorrow. I was out last weekend and the first magazine thru my new mtr I had 3 of the first 5 shots on my 16 inch gong at 300 yards. It was insane the first shot landing less than 12" off the gong first shot ever, I used a ballistics calculator and dialed 10 moa scope in addition to the Area419 30 moa scope base running a vortex 6-24x50 diamondback scope shooting 40gr lrn Aguila ammo. My cz 455 did equally well with a 25 moa base and my weaver t-36 scope with a cheap ace hardware store part number #144 .75 cent (trigger) spring.

@@wowguy3562 To confirm you moved from the Ace Hardware spring to the YoDave? If you do you mind sharing why?
@wowguy35623 жыл бұрын
@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV No no, I own a cz 455 that I put the ace hardware #144 spring in maybe 3 years ago, it works great but I haven't tested the trigger pull. My new 457 I installed the YoDave trigger spring. The Ace spring was like .75 cents, I am keeping it like it is

This is early in the video, but you could prick punch that pin to make it tighter, and invest into some gunsmithing tools.

Stupid question, is there a serious reason to remove the extra grease/lube from the manufacturer? Other than it catches particulate? Thanks for the vid. My YoDave spring came today for the 457 MTR Varmint.
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV2 жыл бұрын
No good reason as far as I know. Maybe not mixing the grease that came with the rifle and the White grease I used. Sorry for the late reply, I am sure you have installed your Yo-Dave sprint by now. I just ordered a MTR, how do you like yours?
@cuddzilla2 жыл бұрын
@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV Unfortunately, I had to leave home before I could install the spring. I'm in construction and travel for work. As far as the MTR, I think you're going to be very happy. It'll STACK match ammo. Thanks for replying!

I recommend it or go with a Timney trigger.
@22lr_plinking2 жыл бұрын
Looks like I could handle doing that, How it working for you? Prefer that over the timney?
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV2 жыл бұрын
The Timney trigger is great, I have it installed on my CZ457 AT-One and I loved it. I have not yet installed on my VPT but mostly likely will since I already have one for it.

The rifle was brand new never fired. Maybe it was the cameraman who made the rifle look well used.

Much smoother this time Bret. How would you compare it to the tikka trigger?
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Now I have not actually fired the rifle but out of the box it was nice and crisp brake and about a 2 lbs pull. I am sure there is no difference between this trigger and the AT-ONE feature wise so it maybe a bit of a luck of the draw but this trigger out of the box was nicer then the AT-ONE but the AT-One pre-travel is adjustable. Another thought this trigger out of the box was lighter than what I could get the trigger on the AT-One to adjust down to prior to replacing the spring that is.

@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV the at one 457 was shooting very well....do you hope for even better accuracy because of the manners (sp) stock ? It is a good looking stock / rifle . So you're in the Oxnard area? I have a machinist friend that lives there. Looking forward to your next video and results

Good question, I wanted a second refile so my daughter could shoot with me and figured I'd try a different model. I was going to go with the MTR but I really wanted the longer barrel. I am in San Diego County, I shoot the Oxnard - Open Grove Match when ever I can, that is a great range with great people. - Bret

@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV I think its manufacturing processes improve as production progresses....its a fairly new model in general the 457 that is to say. Vast improvement to the 455 in many ways. It's also a luck of the draw first few after retooling ,tighter tolerances etc.

Don't install different trigger. Factory trigger has fore and aft travel adgust and I have set my trigger at 8 Oz. So factory has more and better adjustment.
@AimSmallMissSmall_TV4 ай бұрын
Well for me it was hit or miss, the trigger that came with my AT1 was terrible. The Trigger that can with my VPT was actually nice after adjusting it. I think these mass production trigger can be inconsistent on quality.
