My mother was from Brünn in Moravia, and this is very similar to how she made Strudel. This brings back memories from my childhood.

Interesting video. In Vienna we used in butter roasted breadcrumbs instead of cornflakes. Also the apples were grated instead of sliced. Makes a big difference. And please turn down the music it’s drowning your voice out. Thanks for your effort showing your version of appkestrudel

I will cut the dough recipe in half making a smaller easier to handle strudel

What type of flour? Is it semi coarse?
@larrylorence75692 жыл бұрын
All Purpose flour.

in Wien gibt es glattes mehl und griffiges mehl, die Konsistenz fühlt man mit den Fingern, das griffige Mehl ist gröber vermalen In Vienna there is smooth flour and non-slip flour, you can feel the consistency with your fingers, the non-slip flour is coarser👍👍😘😘

Hallo. 1/2 cup water is 118 ml, 2 cups milk is 473 ml, 1/2 sugar is 100 grams, 7 cups flour is 840 grams, 1/2 melted butter is 113 grams, 2 teaspoons salt is 11 grams. All are approximate calculations.

It would be nice if you didn't have the music so loud that it we can't hear you talk.

Why make it enormous and unmanageable? The end rest is not attractive. Traditional Czech and Slovak strudel uses about 1/10 the filling to that much dough.

The volume was from my Grandmother's farm recipe. Back then, she feed a lot of farm hands. The history of the recipe is mentioned in the beginning.

Apple strudle is from Vienna and not czech

Apple strudel originated from the Mesopotamian culture thousands of years ago.

Nobody but nobody mentioned anything about where Apple strudel originates from... Why would you even mention it. Everyone who knows something about history of recipes knows the strudel does not come from Czech. Czech has its own unique original recipes. She is only showing her family version of the apple strudel.
