He maaaaaaaaaaaaaay need to sing this interview to me. Would also help him to relax. I don't know if I can do it. ALSO - he seems slightly uncomfortable, which in-turn is making me uncomfortable. There are a lot of different emotions right now.

Man O'Neal I think it comes with time. Many musicians are all about the music, so talking is not their forte. Many are quite shy. I think as time goes on and they experience growth, speaking becomes easier. D is one of my favorites. His music is life-changing for me. All the best to him.

"Feels like making love" got me through my first and awkward times with my high school GF. "Untitled" pretty much turned me into a man. Then I waited...a long time...Black Messiah ended up being my first iTunes download. I'm so happy he's back to show people what soul, Neo-soul, and incredible music is all about. I appreciate an artist trying to explain their process. I know it's a lot more difficult than people would like to give them credit for. I don't appreciate the snickering and comfortable laughs of the audience when other artists are mentioned. They come off as pretentious. And it's obvious that D'Angelo has respect for these artists that he mentions. What's funny about Brian McKnight, R Kelly, and D'Angelo being in the same place? I love this interview. Thank you Red Bull Music Academy. I love Nelson George, I love Quest Love, I love D'ANGELO!!! I love the amount of information this interview contained. I am so happy that D'angelo has been able to conquer whatever demons he was/is dealing with to bring us more performances and music. I am so proud of him. I saw him live at Afropunk in 2014 and I almost cried when he came on stage...I respect his artistry and resilience so much. All I care about is the music...Ill be playing Brown Sugar/Voodoo/ Black Messiah forever :) Us real fans know whats up!

I got this album the minute I woke up on Monday morning and have played nothing else. I don't get many Christmas gifts but D'Angelo gave one to all of us. I hope he knows how much us as his fans really love him!

This is really really cool getting to listen to an actual relevant black musician talk about instrumentation, the creative process, and influences. Piano, guitar...it's all about a real musician playing real music. This dude got chops. I remember years ago when I went to an industry showcase event ( he was not performing) down near times square and there was a band. As the event ended the band was jamming a little while people were mingling and getting ready to leave. the first thing dude did was run over to the band and start messing around on the keys and chatting with the musicians. He was still pretty new back then so most people didn't even notice. That's a REAL musician!
