I was thinking of doing this same build, but with 4 of the 9×12 canvases in a landscape style, so it'd still be large enough to fit plenty on information on the screen and stuff like dice trays and notebooks behind it, taking up a bit less horizontal space in exchange for more vertical. Also because I like the idea of the screen being a similar size to a book when folded up.

Can also use some of these techniques on a store bought DM screen for personalized information.

Great! I'm thinking of doing the same.

You totally should. A mini dm screen like this can be part of your everyday carry. I’ve always got a small backpack full of D&D stuff ready to rock a game of D&D. This screen is perfect for that.

Is there maybe a slot you can add where you pull out some diy health trackers for your pcs or monsters in your dm screen? Potentially with a ac tracker too :)

There is totally potential for that. Would be super helpful. Thanks for the idea.

How well did the hinges hold up? Also, will you please tell me what backpack you have?
@FitzTheGame5 жыл бұрын
The hinges are holding up well. I don't put the screen through much though, I'm pretty gentle with it. Mostly just set it up before a game and fold it away when I'm done. The backpack is from the Dollarama dollar store. I only paid $4 for it and it fits everything great.

Very simple. I like it. Now how did you decorate the side towards the players? (Did you decorate it yet?) I'm looking for ideas lol
@FitzTheGame2 жыл бұрын
Actually, no I haven’t decorated it yet. I never look at that side so it never comes to mind lol

I really like how small this is. Has it been working out well? And do you plan on painting/doing anything to the back of it?

I haven't used it much honestly. I made it in response to needing a portable DM screen but haven't DMed away from home much since making it. That being said, it's filled the need when needed. It doesn't provide much cover if you wanting to hide some secrets, but if you just need the quick access to a few rules and a bit of cover for a roll or 2, it definitely works and it travels well. I don't currently have plans to dress up the back but it would definitely pretty it up a bit. Even a few large stickers would add some class.
