8:40 But wait. You just take 3 this turn, kill the middle guy (9*15=ded) and 2 cycle the front guy (strike deals 1[10*2=20 > 19]). [and because you only have 2 real cards + 1 dazed, you always get the kill in those 2 turns. EZ 41 hp at the end.] Semper Prorsum is really good here, it's actually less risk. Now. You didn't need it, but you could have taken more damage if you drew really poorly (such as those 5 dazed in the draw pile.)

The run was on the verge of ending because he was nearly dead. Emerald blade doesn't let him block. It's good - it just wasn't good right then. Entirely possible he dies if he takes it.
