Yes you can replace your rear air shocks/autoride shocks with just standard rear shocks. 2000-2006 Tahoe Yukon. Part number for Monroe Shocks is 58639 from O'Reilly's $130.
You will need to lower the rear axle with your floor jack so you can install these with ease.

Nice quick and clear how to. We have a 2001 Suburban 4x4 which had totally gone Nimovats (spelling?) and the replacement cost was insane. Especially in Canada. I trust the Monroe name, got them on the truck and we are amazed by the ride and handling improvement. Good stuff, truck sits better too. Thanks for posting!

These shocks with springs in them look interesting to me. I have a stock height 2000 Chevy Tahoe regular 2wd ls no air ride in mines. But I need to replace my stock worn out shocks with new ones. I want to eventually lower my Tahoe with like a 2/4 drop and I want a stiff suspension. Would you say these make your truck ride stiff or should I go with something else. I want the stiffest ride. No sway at all. I want the super sporty feel

Which air ride shocks did you pull off? AC Delco or some cheap knock offs? I ask as my air ride shocks have lasted 19 years with 150k. Not much hauling but some with light load at about 4500lb. And are you getting suspension codes thrown at you now that you just shut off the compressor?
@cedmac3366

Yes they were some super crappy aftermarket air shocks!! I wanted to try some standard shocks and liked the reviews on this brand and just to see if I could just get rid of the air ride.
