so, being the woman of moral integrity & honesty that i am, i have to confess something - i am a self-taught, novice mechanic in the midst of the “learning” phase… & being as i am self-taught …. the learning comes from the mistakes. thank you, you wonderful human being for saving me (well, my truck) from having destroyed my inner fender because i didn’t do my homework on the screws. & thus, would just assume there are none!! & then id, once again, get to take a trip i’ve traveled many times before - to the GM parts department. great video - very to the point - educational - & done with a great deal of consideration for the DIYer at home that may need some things dumbed down a little.

Rauley Garcia I love the ride of the factory shocks. I wanted to try these and see if the factory system is worth the premium. I think if budget is not an issue I would definitely go back with the factory system. My wife describes these as a bit bouncy compared to factory.

After watching this video, I decided to change air ride suspension by these ones for my Tahoe. After I use them for 10 thousand miles, I don't recommend them at all. They are very bouncy. At 40miles speed, the car starts to bounce like a boat.
@larrytemen47893 жыл бұрын
Much cheaper to get the air shocks you can put air in like a tire. Comes with a T fitting so they both have equal pressure. The reason for this is the Yukon Denali and maybe the Cadillac Escalade have a softer spring in back. It’s essentially a helper spring for the factory air shocks so they don’t have to hold the brunt of the vehicle weight out back. This way you can adjust ride height AND keep your comfortable ride!!

GMC 2007 Yukon Denali. My dash panel warning system is displaying 'Service Suspension System' at me non-stop. A local mechanic says my rig needs new rear shocks (estimate = $1154.00). The local GMC DEALERSHIP says my rig needs new air ride suspension modules AND new shocks (estimate = over $2000). After watching this video, I think I want to handle this project myself. Two quick questions: (1) which shocks should I buy? (2) After I replace the shocks, how would I get the dash panel warning to stop displaying 'Service Suspension System' ?
@YourCarGuyDR2 жыл бұрын
The brand of shocks will be completely up to you. The better shocks you buy the better it will ride. If the reason that your service suspension light is on is due to the shocks then adding the resistors should take care of the issue.

@samsen2016 жыл бұрын
@@justinlawson8045 I let "Your Car Guy Dr" to reply your question as he is the OP and expert in this field, not me. My penny opinion: Pulling fuse is of no use. Because as long as fuse is missing, your car's computer is going to report it as as defect in the line, thus representing it with same error message that you are getting right now: "Service Suspension". -If you have the resistors installed and still having the message, the type of resistor (Ohm) might be wrong, thus computer can not be fooled to think that normal/working air suspensions are present. -If you are sure you have the right resistors in place, then at least one of your circuits are at fault (Short/misconnection etc).

Jorge De Luna no the abs light comes on for different reasons. Usually with the abs light you have a wheel speed sensor that is having issues.
@lukes26386 жыл бұрын
If you had no ABS problem before replacement, but the light is there afterwards... There is an electrical clip that sits just out of sight near the right rear shock. It is close to the frame and easy to accidentally unclimbed when trying to get to the backside of the top bolt. Double check that you didn’t unclip it.
@YourCarGuyDR6 жыл бұрын
Moises Diaz the abs light should not have come on at all unless the wiring was hit or damaged during installation. The abs wiring goes to a sensor near the wheel hub. Inspect those wires and make sure that they are plugged in and not damaged.
