This one is my favourite songs from them. The lyrics, the mellow giddy guitars in the intro. Beautiful drum work. The static synth. All the way to end with an easy but technical outro. The sadden desperation in the last line. This song is just immaculate in my books. ❤️

This is one of my absolute favorite ST songs. It sounds so beautiful and then it builds into that breakdown, but he's singing about longing for someone as he tries to distract himself while waiting on some holy favor and basking in the solace of regret. That breakdown feels more like an actual emotional breakdown, like the song itself are his deep emotions. I remember when I first heard the lyrics "When the mouth of infinity buries its teeth in me, I'll smile through the agony for you. And I know you still bear the weight of your own existence, and you'll never have to bear the weight of two.". Those lines felt like an emotion punch in the gut and they still feel like that every time I hear them. It feels like Vessel is literally showing us a glimpse into his soul on this one, and doing so with a great sounding song. Worship

Someone in a comment on the main video said that this song when the breakdown comes it reminds them of continuous crashing waves coming over them and ever since then I've never not been able to feel the same thing it's so powerful!

Something I love about this outro - the ending part eerily feels like drowning (under the waves of the High Water). The held notes on the guitar are the moments that you are above the waves, only for a moment getting a breath, then back to the rhythmic part as you are battered below the surface against the rocks, trying to get that next breath. And then, it finally closes with Vessel screaming into the reverb/space, fading into focus as the listener is slowly pulled deeper as the reality sets in, until suddenly, abruptly, it all sits still. Quiet. Worship!

Definitely one of my favorite ST songs, I was refreshing right at 9am to see this reaction 😅 A lot of people think the next song, Missing Limbs, is the emotional climax of the album, but for me High Water is absolutely the big emotional peak of this album. Missing Limbs is like the dust settling at the bottom of the ocean after the shipwreck. This song is, as he says, where he just can’t hold himself together and breaks down. Such a big emotional release. The song also has a sound kind of like waves if you listen closely. Like it feels like you’re in the ocean just being tossed around by the waves, bobbing up and down… tl;dr I love this song so much and have so many feelings about it 😅

I feel like the drum solo at the end is 2s little vocal part. There's so much emotion in that little 1:30 drum solo. I feel like if you saw his face during the solo it would be wrought with pain. I'm a sucker for outros. A good outro is one of my favorite things, and can elevate a song for me over others. Maybe that's what gets me from loving it like every other Sleep Token song, to it being my favorite.

The next one is really gna get one of you. I'm betting it's Dallas. You mentioned waves...take a step back. You realize the whole theme of this album is water, right? Look at the journey....The videos...the very first song is titled Atlantic. The other 2 albums have themes too. Think of elements. I think the first one is wind. And the last is earth. If we follow it til it's end....the next would be fire. Maybe I'm wrong. Guess we'll see. Reminds me of Avatar: The Last Airbender. And I think somehow the elements coincide w emotions. The emotions we experience along our journey towards repair after a severed relationship. I think that's the journey vessel is taking us on and we don't even know it. It's so deep we can't even see it. It's why we cry and don't even know why. It's more sublime than we even know. He's a genius. He's using music to put together an emotional jigsaw puzzle right before our very ears and eyes and we can't even see it until he's done...or until he's close to done.
