Quick story is he spun a rod bearing on his D16z6 and we suggested to change bottom end while keeping the top section. The head checked out good and fine so it was pretty straight forward
We run a P29/pm7 piston set thats reinforced with ARP rod bolts
and we assemble the whole engine with you guys here

I do enjoy just listening to them torque wrench clicking! 😂 This being built for autoX, do you istall a lighter flywheel on it? If so would it contribute an advantage on a dragstrip?

what are the advantages of acl bearing over oem/stock? do they last longer or stronger?

Availability and they’re usually a hair looser than oem durability is a picky situation yes the bearings are more durable but won’t imbed dirt or grime so ur journals suffer so I’ve seen case as such and the crank gets junked up But hey durable bearings 😂

want to add a p2a non vtec head what are the diffrence in those engines?

@@thathondadude5974 that usually has a pm3 piston so the head is identical to a d16a6 so pockets will be a little different than a p2a head but it will be fine cuz p2a usually doesn’t have big aftermarket cams u will benefit on a slightly better/higher comp so that would be nifty! it looks like it could be a fun oem spec motor

Just proper clearances? I mean havnt encountered issues yet on what “they” say I mean the 151whp street car on full exhaust is actually a Ph16 vti block cuz it’s a VTi

Yes just have to make sure the belt is installed correct with the correct d16y8 camgear the d16a6 is timed like a z6 not a y8 like p2m

What torque wrench u using?

An old Summit one, just calibrated regularly when needed

Yes much the same except it’s gonna be timed with a y8 camgear

wow and only 237g? that is lighter than i thought... i am planning to take off 1.5mm off the top of the p29 nippon pistons, that should hopefully bring them to around 230 grams, perfect.@@SRDmotorsports will result in 11:1 compression in a 1.4L D series :)
