From what I can recall about debates over the "Wez a tank" thing, was it being a very warped case of the good ol' game of telephone. Where the original was actually a space marine running out of ammo, grabs an ork shoota, tries to fire it but nothing happens. Confused, the orks stop and are wondering why it isn't shooting, because an ork shoota always works. Suddenly, it does and domes one of the boyz, and then promptly swarm the marine. I always thought the "We are a Tank" Ork thing was the orks having fun with the humans that ran out of ammo. You can't really have a proper fight if the enemy ran out of Dakka. So I always thought that the Boyz had a moment of "Aww... That is no fun.." when the Guard started going Bang Bang. Then they went "Oi. Lets have a bit o' Fun." They played dead, just to humor the humans. And then did the "I'm a Tank!" thing to freak out the Guards.

The "We'z a Tank" story is actually older than you think. A buddy of mine heard the same thing when going through USMC basic training in 2002, where they were doing simulated excersises, didn't have any proper rifles for it, so they started handing out sticks to Marines and telling them to shout bang bang.

Electric engines designed by orks have a Tesla-Punk style to them, for the simple reason that the engine is visibly 'electric' and that if a stray Loota or git gets too close it may throw an arc of lightning and fry him/ shock the hell out of the offending ork. It's not quite a love it or hate it, but generally these electric engines also tend to have like a secondary combustion engine for the real tough stuff. Unless you're 'driving' a Shokkjump Dragsta. Then your 'speed boost' is basically jumping through the Warp and hoping to Mork that you come out the other side in the same time frame, and not (more) insane than you were going in. And, you know, don't accidentally create a giant moving Warp portal that spews things from the fever dreams of unexistence, Tides of pure Warp stuff, or just eats you outright and sprays the spaghettified remains of you and the Dragsta out the other end.

The way I've always thought how the ork psychic field works, as a rule of thumb, is you have to understand WHY an ork will believe something for it to be true. Convenience is never a reason. Fourth edition had the perfect example with deff dreds. A mekkboy can't really get them to work by themselves, because they have a habit of just nailing an ork into the Kann, and hoping it'll go. Instead, all you have is an ork bleeding to death in a metal box. They need a painboy, an ork who "understands" ork physiology to handle the connection, which while is little more than ramming wires into the orks brain, you can understand the logic behind it. The brain controls an ork, so by extension connecting the ork brain to the machine can control the machine. A lot of it is entirely aesthetics, or more simply, if it looks like it could work, it will work. They don't have the ability to completely upend the natural world and the laws of physics, but rather have the ability to take shortcuts within it.

He was "so mad 'e waz poppin' spores", but he also got surprisingly quiet, before ordering the story teller to go to Commoragh and get a Dark Eldar's "fun room", so his Mad Doks and Mek Boys could kustomize it, and he could shove Angron in there and put it next to his command center so he could hear the red git scream until the stars go dark.

Just last night I asked "Will purple be mentioned in the video?" Sure enough, very first point. Only heard about purple orks second-hand from a friend and not with the original phrase. He was even playing Speed Freeks on stream during the period a few months ago, he was driving the Shokkjump Dragsta and when he was using the ability that gave a speed boost that made you invisible on the player's side, it clicked in my head that "it makes you purple." In hindsight it was probably warp or wagg energy cloaking the boyz and dragsta, but at least my friend hated that I was right and was proud that I remembered what he mentioned (he also loves purple in general, so there's that).

One thing that bugs me a lot is how many people misunderstand the orks technology. Some believe it’s just ramshackled tech that shouldn’t work, but in reality they do indeed work but they thrive in ork hands. In Caiphas Cain March of the liberator/Death or glory, Cain create a militia that are forced to use Ork guns and Ork vehicles.

Ya, if I'm not mistaken there's a whole army of humans that loot ork weapons on Armageddon. They say the only real problem is most ork stuff is made for orks' strong bodies so it tends to be a little unwieldy.

The engine on the buggy starts knocking, the shootas jam more often, that sort of thing. One of my characters, an AdMech from a heterodox order called the Ordo Symbiot, recovered an ork boombox and uses it to gauge the ork populations on planets. The clearer the sound is, the more trouble the humans are in.

The way I describe the Ork Belief Makes things Go, Is: Their subconscious power is akin to Liquid Green stuff, It can fill gaps missing in tech, but It can't create tech. Example: Guns Need a few things. a Barrel, a handle, and a place for the bullets to go in. The Belief will gloss over what kind of ammo it takes, the condition of the weapon, because Dakka got to Dakka, and Orks Don't care if your shoving Explosive rounds, Tracer rounds, or even Blanks into the Gun. Bullet is bullet. Same with Trucks, they need an Engine, Something to steer with, And needs something to move on. all the other bits? Aerodynamics? What kind of fuel? Worthless extra details that the Orks gloss over.

Honestly i always assumed the colour purple would act like an SEP field which is an acronym for a someone elses problem field a fantasy concept of a type of stealth where when it is applied it makes a person subconsciously glance over and not notice something that would normally stick out more if it hadnt been applied. Now how much this works, whether its a simple buff to normal stealth type stuff or an ork can walk right unto the middle of a store in broad daylight and not be considered something to pay attention too im not gonna bother speculating on but its still just a type of stealth buff not flat out invisibility.

There was a story I read once, I think to do with Warboss Facerippa, where he had a bunch of kommandos ambush tanks and trucks and stuff. While there was no mentikn of purple, there was mention of weeding out the idiots, for you see it was those who did not bury themselves in ambush directly under the well-used track marks on the ground that were successful. Those that did try to hide under the track marks just got dead when the next vehicle came along.

For point seven, I refer to Orks as the melee army because like 80-95% of my shooting doesn't make it past the wound roll, even with things that are kind of good at shooting or help it. That's why we've started referring my Shooting Phase as my Missing Phase in my local group.

The Ontos has a lot of Ork energy. It's a bunch of big guns welded to a normal vehicle, and those guns are aimed with 50 cal MGs that have tracer rounds mixed in.
