I mean you are correct, 40K Orks aren't the same as the fantasy or AOS ones, in fact the reproducing through spores thing? that actually originated in 40K, only later was it also applied to the orcs in fantasy, overall the greenskins in fantasy are far less comic relief and more of a horrifying natural disaster

Kruleboyz vs Orks would be Orky Vietnam with Kruleboyz always ambushing, moving underground to relocate forts and using decoys, pit traps & precision strikes/shooting to tackle mechanically superior Dakka. I’d give it to them for: Able to make any solid ground become a magic sinkhole swamp to sink vehicles & mechs. Semi-aquatic, sneaky and willing to wait hours underwater for a perfect kill. Do have magic to make themselves invisible. And most scary of all they can eat brains to gain that intelligence by Mork’s power.Once they’ve head-hunted enough Bosses they’d know Ork weaknesses and probably start using the Dakka themselves. There’s already Realm of Metal Kruleboyz that built automated fortresses & walking mechs in the shape of Kragnos(those clans are just zoggin’ lazy)

I get what GimGam means here. He seems to be more a Sci Fy Ork than a fantasy Ork. Needs the dakka, I think he’s right, Orcs aren’t Orky, they’re Orcy Orcs don’t have use for dakka because dakka in fantasy/AOS takes the kind of patience most boyz don’t have since they need to be reloaded after every shot. But they clearly don’t need it since despite not having dakka, they can krump just about anyone because most dakka users, especially human and Skaven, are flimsy in melee so the boyz can just chop away. And id argue that the boyz weaponry aren’t as important as the boy that wields its. Like yes Gitsnick is just a double headed axe like all black orcs have, but it became legendary in the hands of the Boss who used it to chop his way clean through an entire Skaven under-city. THATS why Grimgor is my favorite green skin in all the settings, he’d still be Grimgor Ironhide even without Gitsnick, he doesn’t need a power suit or lightning powers, he’s just Grimgor, the Orc that can saved the world (in one timeline) by head butting the ever chosen of Chaos.

Edit: Honestly, the video does a very good job of showcasing why Fantasy Orcs don't got the weird Chaotic Tech weapons; that's the Skaven's wheelhouse. Fantasy Orcs are all about Brute Strength Barbarian Tactics. Also goes to show why 40K doesn't have Space Skaven: the Orks took up the Chaotic Tech Weapons hat and ran with it. And the Imperial Guard has the "we treat our own as cheap cannon fodder" hat, so that leaves nothing to the poor ratboys, so sad-tragic.

As someone who is just recently getting into 40K and is about to start painting his first army (who are of course Orks xP) I like mecha as much as any Bad Moon, but as a Death Skull, I don’t care how fancy or expensive your Stompa is, I made my boyz with passion and trash and I’m still going to fight till the end! >:)

I wish they would release an Ork part box that is just a bunch of random bits of metal, parts of other factions weapons or armour (e.g. a Russ turret, a space marine dreadnought pauldron, etc.) and give you a base template, then say "go wild". Each box has a few guaranteed parts, but the rest are utterly random. THAT would make it feel truly Orky. Maybe they could make Ork Scavenger Packs, with some focussed on dakka, others on vehicles, etc.

I like the Fantasy/AoS Orcs (I refuse the word orruks) and Cruelboyz are the Mork heavy orcs and that's neat to see. Also Grimgor Ironhide, the headbutter of Archaon (he cheated with the deamon sword because gw bs) Then again as a Choppah>Shoot ah kinda person even I admit they do LACK the ranged game for their orcs compared to 40k. But I do like that they focused more on the goblins for that, not for everyone but it is nice to see a difference between the series personally.

I like Orcs/Orruks well enough in Fantasy/AoS. Mostly just because goblins/grots get a real role in lore. But Orks in 40K are just a lot more fun as a faction. Lot more creativity.

In fantasy, goblins form their own tribes and are pretty independent from the orcs, though they will join up with the green tide if threatened or excited enough. In 40k, grotz are the worker caste of the greenskin tribe, doing everything that doesn't require fighting and helping their ork masters with stuff like cooking and building and operating. Both settings have their role for the goblins/grots. Gobbos are just more prominent. I'm not sure what yer on about.

Of course grots have a role in the setting, it’s just a very diminished background role compared to Warhammer Fantasy. You literally mentioned exactly what I was talking about. Agreed on everything! I have been wondering for so long why the orks don't at least steal some guns and don't have their shamans enchant any of the melee weapons. They would look so cool with glowing orky glyphs.

cause then the orks would have to stand still and shoot, perform maintance on the guns, if they wished to reload stay there and watch there mates get into the fight while they stay back out of the fun. blackpowder guns just ain't orky.

At the risk of sounding way too serious I think you can blame the lack of flash from the Orcs on the decision to make Orcs and Goblins different armies. When that happened there was a need to differentiate between them and the goblins needed to be creative to make up for their lack of strength where the Orcs can just smash everything in their path.

Typical Orky brain, not even finkin' of the real way dis fight iz gonna go when it really matters. Da best Ork Weirdboy 'aven't got spit or squig droppinz on da smallest Orc Shaman! While your Weirdboys are yelling and screaming, hoping to throw something worth a zog at us, da Shamans know exactly how to smash ya with a nasty Green Puke, buff up da real boyz with an 'Ere We Go, or just squish ya with da Foot of Gork itself! And dat's not even mentioning how finky and kunnin' dem Kruelboyz and... ugh, grots are with magic, you gitz don't 'ave a shot!

The only reason for one of da Boyz to have a shield is if it fits over their forearm keeping their hands free and it's something for storing extra ammo so they can shoot their dakka even more
