Unfortunately, they turned to barbarism when a big space rokk killed all their squigs and they had to figure out how to do things in their new, weird, backwards ways.

I'm rather new to the Warhammer 40K scene, and I'll admit: Orks is best. It does make me wonder though; does each clan have certain Squigs they prefer or utilize. Like I notice the Snake Bite clan loves to use Squigs as mounts (and they seem to be the only ones who do). I guess the better way of asking this is, do the Ork clans have a breed of Squig that is unique to them? Clearly there are Squigs that every clan uses but what about the more specific kinds?

Not unique swigs so much as preferred Squigs and Snake Bites are good to have around particularly because of Squigs. Snake Bites are the only group that knows how to selectively breed Squigs and so can make all the fancy Squigss other Orks use. Hair Squigs are one thing but the ones that are skinnier and used as stitches are special and you can thank Snake Bites for them. As for signature Squigs Goffs like to use Bomb Squigs, and Evil Suns like Oil Squigs, Snake Bites specialize in Squigs so they have most of the really unique ones including Giant Squigs like the Squiggoth, Squigasaur, and colossal squig

Not really, no. All orkz use all squigs.

There are no super unique squigs, no. But Snakebites and... ugh... zoggin' Beast Snaggas tend to have more squigs and more varied squigs since they make more. As others have mentioned, though, some squigs are more common with the different klans. Oil and Fuel Squigs tend to be pretty common around Evil Sunz, Speed Freeks, and occasionally Mekboy Workshops. Goffs are more fond of Squig Hounds, Attack Squigs, and Either Bomb Squigs or Grenade Squigs. Bad Moons like Glitzdakka would probably enjoy a Targeting Squig, which helps the ork aim better. More dakka is fun, but you gotta AIM that more dakka in order to krump more humies! Or whatever youz fighting. Not many orks fink like dat. Blasting dakka is fun, but if you blast dakka, miss the target, and get yerself krumped, den Gork and Mork ain't gonna be happy with youz.

Fun fact: In some parts of the world the indeginous peoples would use ants to suture wounds. they wwould do it exactly like you said by ponching the wound closed then letting the ants bite down to keep the two sides closed then pinching the ants bodies off.

I love how basically anything that's not a weapon or a vehicle in an Ork's day to day life is a squig of some sort. They really are an adaptive and varied bunch of gits. That chair? If it's not stolen from a humie, it's probably a squig. The blanket you have? If it's not something you killed for a laugh, it's a squig. The lamp you carry around for patrols? If it's not stolen, it's a lamp squig. Very helpful little fellas.

Well, you're neglectin' the part of Ork Kultur known as craftsgrotship. Most of yer small useful gubbinz - flashlights, hand tools, heaters, ovens, furniture - is made by grotz outta whatever scrap gubbinz the local mekboyz ain't interested in. When a boy needs one, they find a grot with it, give him a good kick, an' take it fer himself. Grotz also cook - an' while a lot of Ork food is made o' squig, not *quite* all of it is. Grotz brew booze outta the more inanimate kinds of fungus, for instance, and they often cultivate untidy gardens of other hardy crops that Orks have adopted into their diet.

Ok but genuinely “teef” are genuinely a pretty good currency if you don’t hold any innate value to things like precious metals. They’re fairly hard to get, the previous owner won’t just give them to you. Ya can’t exactly counterfeit them or shave them down to make them less valuable. And because of how many Greenskins there are, there’s basically always a steady supply of teef entering the economy and being removed at the same rate.

Would you perhaps be interested in learning about the Scottish my good man, we were basically the humie version of you in the old days, we had a unique culture and enjoyed the simple things, mostly that would be a good fight, good food, and a good strong drink, and in those days there was this big empire that was kind of like the humies you fight, and they loved to expand and conquer other land, but when they got to us, we gave their backsides such a good krumpin that they decided we were too much trouble and built a wall at the border between us and them so they wouldn't have to deal with us, and what makes it even better is that we were the only people at the time that was able to do that, no one else did it before or after. Our ancestors the Celts were even crazier, they would sometimes go to a fight completely NAKED and covered in body paint screaming to the sky, I can guarantee that you would love them.

Playtesters for my GorkaMorka RPG have been exploring the wealth of squigs Orks use. I've made a few new ones from questions like "What do Flashy Bosses put in their Fungus Brew to make them taste better?" So I made the Juice Squig. Think of it as like a Paint Squig, that you squeeze into a Drink to make it taste better. Another that came up was "How do Orks make clothes?" To which I created the Sewin' Squig. Similar to a Hair Squig, with a single thick hair growth. Just hold two pieces of hide or cloth next to each other and poke the Squigs pointy bit through. The Squig will immediatly wrigle back around and come through, hopefully on the other section. Its a pretty mean, but not very dangerous squig. So when it comes back through towards you, trying to jab you with its pointy bit, you grab it and repeat. Once youve come to the end of the squig's length, you cut the hair, and toss the squig back in its bin/bucket/box so it can regrow another hair.

9:20 Actually, there are some humans who do this too. They use ants instead of squigs; little crunchy, bitey things that sting sometimes. But yeah, they make the ant bite the human on either side of the wound and twist the body off. The jaws stay shut, the wound heals, and eventually the ant head just rots and falls off. Humans also do the same thing with the long, thin hairy squig, but they use a metal needle with thread. The wound has to be cleaned with stinging medicine and the thread has to be removed later. I think humans have new, fancy threads that don't have to be removed, but I don't know for sure.

Zog, you forgot me FAVORITE Squig. The UnSeeable Squig. Dis squg skin changes all sorts of color so it looks like it ain't even der. Perfect for keeping from getting eaten, or for surprising and eating some git dat can't see it. Da Boys uses it because itz blood is purple 💜 and datz wer we get dat purple 🟣 paint dem Blood Axes like to use for dem Sniper Boyz. You see when you put dis purple 🟪 paint on, it starts to change color, so you don't look like you der, and den you can be all sneaky like a cunning plan from brutal Mork, and Dats why you will never see a Purple Ork!

The blood which is purple reacts to heat and temperature changes giving it similar features found in the chameloline cloaks used by Space Marine scouts and Eldar Rangers. Now wait until you see my concept for Snipa Boyz team. Each Snipa has a Grot Spotta which has a scope linked to the Snipa's Long Shoota basically tells the Snipa to either go up, down, left or right then presses a button that turns on a light letting the Snipa know when to FIRE!

There is a practice in south america, which is basicly what you use hairsquigs for. You have a wound, you let the ant bite the wound shut, and pop the body off. Im assuming the warhammer writers knew that, but still. Its very neat that they include small buts of lore like that.
