I wouldnt even know, tbh they were my brother's group on WB. He has since moved on from the Hip-Hop scene. He started at WNYU 89.1 FM w Martin Moore n went on from there to Tommy Boy, to WB, Sony, and a few other underground labels. I was feeling nostalgic so I dropped in on the old school vids. These guys used to come to my crib and chill for the whole summer before they were out w Ambushed. Those were the days, a record pool meant FREE promo tapes n cd's showcases (concerts) CMJ chicks n food!

That point you made about Pete Rock is a valid one. A big connection between Pete and Teddy Riley is that they did work for Heavy D. Teddy did work for him during his "overweight lover" era, and Pete blessed him during his "Blue Funk" period. To me Teddy took R&B and added elements of Hip-Hop to it, while Pete took Hip-Hop and added R&B elements sprinkled with Jazz. The great thing is Pete still kept it "street" while doing this. Thanks for the intelligent discussion!

So Smoode people like you are stupid saying that someone sounds similar to another person is disrespectful. Read a dictionary or two.
@MrSoSmooth110 жыл бұрын
LOL 1) I never said saying ANYONE sounds like another person is disrespect. I said comparing this Bush Babees dude to Sean Paul is disrespect (based on the disparity of skill levels) 2) Who READS a dictionary? And then gets a 2nd one to read? LOL
@blackappleism10 жыл бұрын
So Smoode shit just goes over your tiny head there's an explanation for both questions. So what you're saying is Sean Paul has more skill? Cool in my opinion this guys singing is butter in comparison to Sean Paul's would be like butter with nails And razorblades in it. In other words he's fucking annoying. This track puts me in a state of mind Sean Paul will never put me in. As Kendrick said "my simple shit be more pivotal." Now that's a true mc to this day, there aren't really any great new wave hip hop vocalists... If you think Sean pauls one of then please refrain from speaking with me anymore. (I know I came at your throat but this industry and the people that support it piss me off.)
