ah. So "cards" are short songs that play to bridge between larger pieces in a soundtrack?
@rnbpl2 жыл бұрын
i think toady realized dabu made a bunch of garbage and insisted he included some of his actual compositions. not to be overshadowed, dabu interpreted them in teh worst way possible and shoved them in as bridges.

When I first heard the soundtrack on some of the demo streams I thought it was loud and intrusive but when I actually played the game I loved it and I think almost all the songs got stuck in my head.
@bastiboyza2 жыл бұрын
i love this whole soundtrack so much, it just really breaks from so many videogame ost tropes. honestly such a great idea to make spanish guitars the main focus of your soundtrack it's so fresh

Toady Four & Toady Five just hit different. The feelings I feel while listening to these feel so familiar, maybe Factorio OST?
@HelciusCabral Жыл бұрын
all 'toady' tracks seem to resemble pieces of the original DF ost
@MerrStudio Жыл бұрын
@@HelciusCabral it's not that, yeah it obviously has some leitmotif from the original melody, but my comment has more to do with the form. It has some similarities to factorio's ost

Amazing! 07:36 - Suite Espagnole Part I, 08:24 - Suite Espagnole Part II, 09:21 - Suite Espagnole Part III are obviously Asturias by Isaac Albeniz rearrangement. 18:10 - Cages & Chains reminds me of old Ukrainian folk lullaby named "Ніченька іде" (Night is comming)

This sounds like Asturias by Isaac Albeniz, albeit in a very creative arrangement. Beautiful music for a classic game :)

What does "in-game music cards" mean in this context?
@Isvoor2 жыл бұрын
Not sure. Maybe the steam cards that sometimes drop while playing through steam? Or it's the interludes between other songs?
@Bottley2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it means music cards as in once a certain event occurs (A milestone is reached, an amount of items are made, etc.) it will play one of these. Just my guess
@valleyforgeproductions2 жыл бұрын
I believe these are the “interludes” Tarn mentioned when he was talking about the soundtrack. They basically play as a bridge between tracks.

decent composition that actually fits the game, but i wish you had made them a bit grungier, like they were played by a dwarf in his hand made guitar. this sounds like it was made by elves!
