My sympathy for the mom ended where she victimized her own son and kept the daughter in an untenable living situation. The son is best with his uncle. The sister needs saving if possible.

Some mothers don't realize just how bad their lives are because they've never known any other kind of life. I'm thinking that Mom doesn't know how to get a job and earn her own money, thereby being over-reliant on her spouse for support, regardless of how abusive he was.

Thats how i know its fake. Especially when it comes to abuse of kids. It wouldnt even matter if mom pressed charges or not, the fact they already saw OP was bruised and bloody and as a minor, plus already hearing them confess to the fight, but mom claiming it was her fault, means charges wouldve already been pressed. And mom couldve been arrested as well if she didnt cooperate. Tbh, it sounds like they did already press charges on their side anyways.

I swear abusers love commenting when you are reading them. I love it when they said... yeah your dad looked after you and you sent him to prison? Scuse me? His dad was out messing around, being abusive and didn't give the mom emough money to have food in the house so OP a 15 year old had to slide his mom some cash to eat. THAT is NOT taking care of your family. That being said... there are 2 rolls between his parents... the abuser and the abused. If either one stops playing their roll... the show is over. Staying is a choice, for both of them. That does not take away from a parent's responsiblity to keep their kids safe... and that is something they are not doing as a team. Both the parents are wrong... and I know here... that is what CPS standard is. Who knows where they live tho.

Most abused spouses act this way.(I say spouses and not wives because there are abusive females also) Please understand that people who abuse have a stange power over the victims, the process of turning a spouse or child is not a one time incident it is subtle, long time process. Usually starting with deciding the victims from outside sources if help. By poisoning the victims mind towards people outside the household. They usually do not start out with depriving the victims of friends and family connections. Telling them that they are the only person loves them. And what about the fact that her access to household funds was limited by the abuser? These are subtle things that most other people do not notice. I know one person who was a victim along with their 3 boys. When he left to go to work or leave the house, he would lock them Ina walk in closet until he got home with a bucket for waste and a gallon of water to drink. One day he did not come home due to an accident while driving. When the police went to the home to notify the family. The did not get a response. The returned a couple days later and decide to enter the home to check on the family after a neighbor told them that he knew there was a woman and children who also lived there. Thank God that all three were alive and after being rescued they were taken to the hospital given fluids and her parents were contacted. These things really happen so wake up and watch for the signs of abuse.

This is classic Stockholm syndrome. Victims get used to how life is with their captor (yes, these abusive men are absolutely captors; they isolate their victims from friends and family, control their money, etc). Victims are afraid they won't be able to pay rent or buy food without the abuser. They have nobody to fall back on because they've been isolated from them. They also believe the lies their captor tells them, things like 'you are ugly, nobody other than ME will ever love you'. I witnessed this firsthand with my mom and her 2nd husband.

For the life of me I can not understand those who said that OP was wrong and his dad was only keeping his family in line. Those must be men similar to his dad and I hope they also get some prison time, if they decide that's the way to treat their families. Kudos to OP for doing the right thing. That situation could very well have led to his mother's death, either at his father's hands, or by suicide. The only time it is acceptable to hit a woman is in self defense of yourself, or children. And with those examples, it would be better if she could be blocked until you get away, or restrained until authorities could get there. I've met some nasty women in my day, but I've never hit one of them. I have been hit, but only blocked and walked away, instead of hitting one. I did have one woman's brother start harassing me about getting slapped by his sister, so I beat him up instead. Felt good and of course, she bitched about it. I told her that I would never hit her, but every time she decided to hit me, I'd do likewise to her brother, cousin, even father. She left me alone after that.

Sperm donor is clearly an abusive narcissist. Because op's mom was submissive to him he didn't expect her to say no to him. Apparently that tipped him off so much that he started to physically abuse her. To immediately leave once he heard the cops being called with his mistress tells who he loves and will protect. Also, that woman deserves to be divorced and more to be with such a horrible person. Yeah, sperm donor waited til the cops were gone then he was going back to dish out more physical abuse for denying him to have his mistress at home with him. Not surprised that he immediately ran again when he heard the cops. Oh geez, to smirk at the scene of sperm donor hitting his wife and kids for her is beyond disgusting. She definitely deserves to be with him and rot in hell. I am beyond disgusted with comment 2 and clearly that person is a narcissist just like sperm donor. Geez, to go so far as to hate and blame your son, hide the abuser, refuse to accept that he was arrested was the right thing and still disown op to please her abuser🤦. She's so far down in being a victim, naive and denial that it's NOT funny. And who is he loser making comment 2 that OP is the problem betraying his dad. I suspect commentor 2 is cut from the same cloth as the Dad, thinking that being a “real” man gives you the right to cheat on your wife and beat the crap out of her when she objects. Sigh. The world is full of too many “real “ men like that!

THATS IT !!! I'm not listening to this anymore. The fact that they take time out of my life and read some of the most dysfunctional opinions . These people are writing because they need advice or validation. Reading the truly dysfunctional opinions does them no good. The people that request opposing opinions just because they want to hear it or be fair is just asking to spread the dysfunction ever deeper. This should not be a venue for that! Give me the choice, if I want yo hear that crazy shyte I would take the time and read it. I'm sure the OPs seeking help can certainly do without it.

About these commenters in the Reddit post, they NEED to be monitored strictly - "your ruined your dad's life", so they think a GROWN man striking their son is perfectly above board. Yeah they should never be allowed to be in the general public again swear down

You did the right thing!!! Your an amazing young man for going thru all this by yourself and taking the blame. Eventually, one day your mom will hopefully realize that. Until then hold your head up high, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! You are blessed to have a uncle, grandfather, and a huge family circle of support by your side. Love them as much as they love you, you will come out on top. I hope you do a update in a few years to let everyone know how you’re doing!!!❤❤❤

I'm so glad OP's dad was finally arrested. For the one's who said that he was in the wrong, well, they're just absolutely nuts. I don't care that it's his dad. Parents don't treat you that way, and spouses don't either. And when they do cross that line then there are consequences for that.

Op u r awesome kid, I m very happy u have your grandpa to be with u and support u. Please do not listen to negative comments those people must be same to their kids and partner as your father. So these negative people taking your abusive father's side. U don't need your spineless mother and sister. U will do great in future, it takes lot of guts to face abusive and spineless parents. Do not change for anybody. U did right. Lots of love from India. Take care kido.❤️❤️❤️❤️

OP you are the real man in the house, you did your very best to protect your mother and sister. There's only one person responsible for bringing your father to jail/prison, and that's your father. The most important thing you can do for your mother and sister in the future is to be there for them when they need you. Best wishes for you OP and your mother and sister ❤️❤️😄

If he had to sneak around and find his grandparents info because he had no contact with them before the comments suggested it, how did he have their number to call them to get advice on sending the video before

I'm so confused. OP said he called his grandparents, and they said to send the video. It would take 2 days to get to him. He couldn't trust his paternal family. Later, He says he didn't know his mum's grandparent's phone number and looked it up in his mother's address book. Grandma was dead but Grandpa was close. Which is it?

Mom is just as guilty of child abuse and domestic violence as the dad and the extended family are. They're all Abusers. Mom has.givern consent to her husband to beat her AND the children WITHOUT the consent of the children. The child says "No, don't abuse me" and both parents abuse him more to shut up his "no" and remove ALL power and consent for their lives and deny ALL autonomy. These children are better off with the maternal grandparents and both parents can pay support and Alicia can pay the children damages. It's likely better for the entire family. No more scapegoats, be Self-Accountable. Dumkoofs!

Tbh if your mother does not want to press charges against your dad? Then that means she has chosen your dad and his issues over you and your sister. She does because of that not deserve your sympathy. I hate women like that. By choosing your dad over you and your sister ... she does not deserve any help and is equally at fault as your dad. Perfect example of the mother why the mom is equally to blame ... she blames her own son for standing up to her, her sister is turning in to her mother ... by also blaming her brother for everything. Why do I hate mother like her? My mother was exactly the same and by fact worse ... his mother only got a small slap ... but still being passive is exactly the same as being the actual abuser.

Who in the hell are the commenters in the original posts? What a truckload of absolute garbage. Thise commenters saying OP was the priblem and deserved to be kicked out are 100% abusers. You cannot convice me otherwise! "Its the mans job to keep his family in line" The 1950's called and want their misogyny back. OP absolutely did the right thing and I am happy his gpa and uncle were there to help him. The father bringing his mistress home and kicking OP's mom out of her room so he can sleep with his mistress in the marital bed? Have at it trash and abused or not (i wholly understand the abuse cycle as I have been the receiving end of horrible abuse) the mother did not protect her children when that trash put his hands on her son and then kicked him to the curb when he trued protecting his mom and himself. How awful! Good luck OP! YOU did nothing wrong.
