It’s absolutely mind blowing that you see a horse who’s obviously uncomfortable and acting like that and you have to be told numerous times to move out the way. My horse stood on my foot once and broke my foot luckily I have never been kicked my horses but 1 kick in the right place and your dead or severely injured. I honestly don’t understand how some peoples minds work 🤦🏻‍♀️. The guard, the soldier & the police were fantastic in controlling the horse & crowds. I think it’s about time now that there should be a rule of not crowding the guards & horses

Surely these tourists, especially the woman in the blue, have no idea how powerful a horse can be especially when it is playing up. They are big strong animals, not cuddly toys! Well done to the Guard for his horsemanship.

I'm sorry to say Tourists are crude and inconsiderate to the guards and horses. They are there to do a job! NOT stand at attention for your damn selfies. Imagine thousands tapping your nose speaking to you in loud voices to get a reaction. The barriers should be moved as far away as possible in consideration of the animals ,guards. Also adjustments should be made for the heat going on. Plain Rude people, little kids out of control. Ignoring the police officers to get back. The UK owes you Nothing in this respect but show your high ignorance and lack of Manners. Well done Guardsman controlling your horse. Poor spooked guy.

Your absolutely correct, BURNING OFF STEAM, Pent up Calories it would be like you or me downing an energy bar then sitting at a desk like we gotta run or at least walk….Heavy Draft Horses entering the forest can be testy act up until they draw out a couple of tons of wood then the lines can be dropped and the horse/s won’t move an inch…. The problem here is if the horse burns off some sugar the horse will sweat then salt stains will show up and sweat drips which makes the horse look overworked and that black or brown shine the tourist’s want so much to be perfect is not perfect….

As a horse admirer from afar but never owner, I often wonder when watching these videos when the horses are jumpy, if it’s that they are tired of standing still, nervous because of something they’ve sensed, irritated, or what. Especially when they whinny like that. Can someone translate the horse body language, please? And when people touch the horse, do they prefer touches on the nose, cheeks, neck? Light or firm touches, scratches? I’m guessing that’s individual, but would the guard answer if asked that?

Good comment, I despair at the behaviour of most of the crowd and the School children are allowed by people in charge of them to "mock" our "hardworking soldiers it simply is not on and most unfair that this appears to be an escalating problem.

@@underthefallenstars2788 a farrier shoes horses. They have 280 horses in the Regiment, so have a team at Knightsbridge Barracks. There is a resident farrier at Horseguards with each troop( or at least an on-call one ) as farriers also do first aid for horses and can euthanize a seriously injured one.

Horseguards has always been extremely noisy with the heavy traffic ( cars buses and trucks ) passing on the major road just in front of the 2 horses. It is also a busy walking route into central London from Westminster/ Whitehall . The stable yard is a busy walkway to Downing Street and Hyde Park. That is apart from the tourists.

Mounted guard is an excellent horseman, and guard in camo is exceedingly supportive. Crowd - clueless. I wonder if there might be biting flies or bees on the floor of the guards post. It might explain some of the stomping and unwillingness to be in that post.

That horse is really upset or angry, the Guardsman did very well trying to calm it down but the "root cause is "too many people allowed to congregate at Horseguards and making a "racket" both inside and outside of it. in my opinion the Police or Army personnel should have cleared a lot of them away whilst the horse so distressed by them. This is going on constently day in and dayout. Most of them have no respect for either Guardsmen nor the horses. We've seen a lot of dis-respect the excuse was they where "German school " children, that is no "excuse" they where old enough to act with respect for our soldiers and our Country "

My brother was in the Household Cavalry, he told me the horses are treated like Kings!..With grooming being top order to soothe them, there's a lovely video, of a Trooper with his horse, who is cooling down on a really hot day, and the horse is playing Apple Bobbing...They all go on their holidays, to a long beach in Norfolk no saddles and swim in the sea..When they are retired, there's a forever home awaiting them, and to see them charge around the open fields is great.. I read that they miss the noise crowds sometimes, so a Trooper left a radio in the stable!
