I’m a Latvian living in England and have become so attached to these videos of your dad. They speak a universal love language that everyone can understand. It’s so heartwarming to see his love and care for his family and also receiving it back from you guys. The oldest close relative I had was my grandma who died when she was 85 and she was very sharp minded til the end. And other grandparents and my father, too, passed away very suddenly. So I never have experienced dealing with someone with dementia, but your videos are still beneficial to me as it reminds me to be more patient with my family, parents, children… To appreciate having them while I can. Thank you and I’m a big fan from the UK.

I too took care of my husband with dementia then Alzheimers and it was a slow progressive disease which finally took him after having Covid 19. I to wish I would have documented his progression but for some reason I felt like I would have been disrespecting his privacy. The last few months were the worst 😢 but now I look at this man and his family and I wish I could have more than just pictures..❤ they say that this disease makes them violent but my husband was the kindest, sweetest most gentle person I have ever had the pleasure to know. ❤. He’s such a generous/thoughtful soul. My dad used to say: “You ok for money?” As he’d slip me a $20 bill or two. Dear Dan, I try to become like you everyday you have accomplished everything in your life and there is real struggle behind all of this success. I know you already know this but just in case you ever feel down -: People will doubt and even hate just like they have in the past you just need to power though them. You are a great son and you deserve everything good you have my friend. I hope you have a great time ahead.

Thank you for further explaining your knowledge about him being worried about Mark. I was wondering, while watching, if he worries about whoever he's not with and if he peppers Mark with questions about you and where you are when he's with Mark. Your explanation just helps me remember that this disease is in the deepest recesses of the mind and we can guess and try our best to understand, however, love, comfort and care are frequently our only course of action. May God bless you all. Shalom family 💙

The trauma that Mark went through when he was young was also trauma that your mom and dad felt as they worried about him. That trauma may be where your dad’s brain is as at … memories from the past are clearer than recent ones for him. May God bless you Dan, Mark and Danielle. You are doing God’s work and it’s tough stuff. May He bless you all. ❤️🇨🇦🙏

I didn’t have any grandfathers growing up… I look up to your father now. I want to be as good of a father as he was so my kids love me just as much. Maybe one day we’ll get a video from you and mark letting us hear some stories about your father when he was taking care of you both! Thank you for all the wholesome content !

It's so beautiful to see both siblings share responsibility. For my part, my sibling absconded!!! 😅 Totally escaped all responsibility staring family issues, busy schedule, and believe me even stating childhood abuse! So, you know, I just can't throw away dad like precious sibling. Story goes on. Take care guys... God bless.

I’d love to know what he says at Marks, probably worrying that Dan hasn’t any money. My dad used to get quite cross and irritated with me. Told me I was a bully because I wouldn’t let him use his step ladder to get to the top of the cupboards (he fell off twice), hated it when I stopped him driving (wrote two cars off), asked him to come and live with me, would say yes one day then no a day later. Luckily, although no siblings I had wonderful support from my husband and children. Now he’s gone, I would do anything to have one of those repetitive conversations. Grandpa is lucky to have such a wonderful family.

Like you I cared for my “wee mammy “ as we say in Scotland, you are kind and it’s not only hard for you , but for family members so take care of your health as well! Your postings have brought back memories of the fun & the hard times I went through with my mum. She passed away last year after a fall, like your dad she was mobile. I made loads of conversations with mum and was thinking of posting as a sort of catharsis for losing her , as she could be so much fun as well.

Your Dad is a sweetheart and you're a great son for taking care of him; and what a fabulous job you are doing. I saw your wife for the first time in a live that you posted and was a little shocked at her potty mouth and overall cynical attitude, but she had a lovable, petite firehouse essence about her, too. Your videos make my day.
