Indeed, Grampa IS such a mighty rich man with all the love, respect, patience & attention he's surrounded by every day...I wish all needy elderly people in our society could know such heartfelt love & appreciation from their families...There's just something about Dr.Salinger that touches my heart in a most special way...

As a clinical psychologist, I've watched Ed since you started on TikTok and now here. Although his dementia can be difficult at times, I so admire your unending patience with him. You make it look easy while it is certainly the opposite - I'm sure. Nevertheless, you all are so good-natured, loving, and kind that this difficult situation must surely give Ed some feelings of security despite the ongoing battle with confusion, anxiety, and memory loss. Wonderful - and thank you! Please tell Ed that NYC says 'hello.'

It is still a demanding position to handle. But, as long as they can do the care, without killing themselves in the process it is preferable to a nursing home. As healthy as Ed is, it may still be needed. I think he's going for the record. JK

I'm new to this channel, and so I am just catching up on Grandpa's journey. Onne of the things I've noticed about Grandpa is that he is observant and seems to have an inquiring mind--qualities that no doubt served him very well in his medical practice. I also have noticed that he seems to enjoy keeping on the move. His questions may seem repetitive, but they seem to be motivated out of concern over his loss of independence and control. For someone who must have exerted a lot of control over his life circumstances (especially in terms of patient care), those traits no doubt served him well in the past.

Amazing family, and the fact that you and Mark both take care of your father with grace and patience, and most of all the tenderness and love that is not only in your father, who clearly is a kind man, but also you both. Great family. I am jealous but happy to see such great people having that time with their father who I am sure provided such a great home for his kids.... how it should be. Patience, and love.

Poor darling, life isn't fair is it? It's lovely to see Dad has a lovely family who cares & loves him, there is a lot of families who wouldn't. I wish you all the very best. Love your parents while you can because life is short no matter what age they are. Oh sending love to you all 💕 from Australia

I would love to meet your Dad. What a gentleman. Thankyou for caring for him. I’m sure it gives him peace and a secure feeling to know he is with caring family instead of strangers.

Just lost mother in law from dementia . Worked with Alzheimer’s patients for most of my career. I am so endeared by Grandpa!!! He is actually pretty amazing with some of his comments. These questions he asks just crack Me up bc they are so typical of most of the residents I’ve cared for…. Money worries are always there. Paranoia about money.. ect You are amazing with your pops and I’m so glad he’s being cared for by you and your brother. That’s the best quality of life he could ever have ! I applaud you!!
