As J-Hope fan I do not feel let down bcs J-hope didn't have big verse. The sentiment of this being his farewell to fans before joining military is huge. He doesn't have to show off in this kind of song, his message was short and sweet and knowing him I know he intentionally made it this way and gave J. Cole the spotlight as a sign of respect. Mostly I am happy and proud of this collab, I bet it was on J-Hope bucket list. I understand from what you said that you have very small knowledge on BTS and their music, but they started as hip-hop team and J-Hope is one of the rappers, all rappers are very good in BTS. He is also a street dancer and started with street dancing. So in a way he tells his story with this music video: dancing under ground to j.Cole verse, while he is on top of the building (J in the air). BTS are known for their intersective lyrics too and all the rappers are good lyricists.

Totally agree with this. That's why the credit on this song says "with J.Cole", not "featuring J.Cole". Btw, thank you for reacting to this song. J-hope is one of 3 rappers in BTS (the other two are RM and Suga). Each rapper released their own albums but please note that BTS's music has a lot of hip-hop influences and goes beyond "Butter" and "Dynamite". There's a lot to discover but if you start with the music from the rap line, you'll get into it. The most recently released music I would recommend for your channel are the following: RM's "Still Life" and "Wildflower", J-hope's "Arson" and "More" and Suga's "Daechwita". Also, I would recommend "Proof Live" which features all 7 of the BTS members.

Lets not lie to ourselves, i love jhope and bts in general but even if jhope had the same amount of lines that jcole had still J cole would’ve nailed it both lyrics and the delivery, its not a competition am just stating the facts, J cole is an intelligent lyricist, thats why j hope considers him his idol, infact alot of korean rappers do, jaypark for one… love to both of them.

Excuse me. They are a boy band, and there is nothing wrong with that. Why do we allow men to diminish that fact? Why do we help them disparage the things that girls and young women enjoy? Without young women who love boy bands, us old people would have never known about BTS. Old men would not know John Lennon, or Mick Jagger, or dozens of other talented artists who started their career in “manufactured” boy bands. Let’s recognize that and stop thinking “boy band” is an insult.

BTS are not what you think. They're not your typical boy band. They have 3 hard-core rapper's (2 came from the underground), & 4 vocalists. They write, compose & produce most of their own songs. & have songs in almost every genre & each one is fire. You should check out more BTS. Not their cpl English songs but any of their 300+ Korean songs

for the producing they do have in house producers (for example: Pdogg who is credited as producer for on the street) but the members (especially the rappers) have produced, do producer, and are involved with the producing process of their music. All the members have a say in their music and are allowed to give their thoughts and opinions and they all work together to make the best music they can.

as a jhope fan i wasnt let down at all that he didnt have more bars because knowing his history it all makes sense. he started out as a street dancer and thats actually how he became a part of bts. his passion has always been dance first and that's how he was introduced to j coles music, so him dancing all over the city is a throw back to his past teen years and very nostalgic in a sense.

I love that you have introduced your dad to some of the greatest such as Nas, Tupac etc. I am now a huge BTS fan I have even travelled to go see them live. They are not just huge in Korea they are huge all over the world. Two members started out in the underground rap community in Korea. I would love to see you react to a song called Outro Tear. Thanks for this reaction. :) J-Hope is one of the main dancers and dance leader of BTS. He was originally a street dancer, but his talent as a rapper blossomed as he became BTS. As you know, as a rapper, he was strongly inspired by J.Cole, and I think it would be really meaningful for him to collaborate with J.Cole on a brief farewell song before joining the military. J-Hope showed great respect for him in this song. As an ARMY, I'm so happy with this collab.😭 BTS is consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers. You said you've heard of DYNAMITE and BUTTER. :) They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop. All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them. Now BTS is the biggest boy band in the world. But they started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves. I highly recommend Mic Drop's MV and the live performances. (It's one of their billion-view music video.) The direction of Mic Drop's lyrics began with the idea of J-Hope. And 'Mic Drop' at the end of this music video is a performance created by BTS leader RM inspired by Barack Obama's speech. :) If you're interested in BTS' songs, I would like to recommend.... Blood sweat & tears FIRE On kinetic manifesto film Black Swan Save me→I'm fine Daechwita(Agust D 대취타, Suga's solo) These are pretty different from Butter or permission to dance or Dynamite.(Only these three songs are fully English. These three songs have been written in English since the Pandemic to give energy to people around the world.) And, all of their music videos provide English subtitles. :) Their lyrics are very deep and beautiful. Or, I think it would be good to follow a story line. DNA: Joy of fateful love → Fake Love: Realizing that love was a lie → IDOL, The Truth Untold, Epiphany, Answer Love Myself: To love other people completely, you should love yourself first. These are included in Love Yourself Trilogy. The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative. It will also be fun to listen to their albums in order and analyze them. :) They make a wide variety of genres of music like Hip-hop, Ballad, R&B, pop, EDM, etc. I'm sure there're quite a few of their 300 songs that suit your taste. :) And if you're interested in J-Hope's live energy, I recommend about an hour and 20 minutes of performance at the Lollapalooza Festival, where he participated as a headliner. j-hope - Live at Lollapalooza 2022 (Full Performance) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJLOZqyFos9rjZo For reference, the day he performed recorded the highest demand ever for one-day tickets among Lollapalooza performances. :)

J Cole is J-Hopes biggest influence, before he was even rapping he was dancing to J.Cole's Friday Night Live album and that made him want to start rapping himself, his first album was named after Cole himself "Hope World" being the albums name, this is also his last song put out for the fans before he enlists to the military for his mandatory service so yeah its for both the fans and to pay respect to J.Cole as his biggest muse and his idol. you could say dancing is J-Hope's 2nd verse in the song so him dancing to J.Cole's rapping is that image of where he started and where he's at now. ARMY will correct me where i'm wrong i believe!

Hobi’s verse in #on_the_street is deeper than many people think. First, you have to know that the child in the mv is hobi. the kid is wearing Air Jordan 11s. Theyre the same pair Hobi owns now. Air Jordans are also known as J’s so “J in the Air” is a play on the shoes. Air Jordan’s (J’s) are significant bc j.cole mentions the shoes in his song “higher.” Meeting j.cole at lolla, hobi mentioned to him that he loves his mixtape Friday Night Lights, especially Higher. & Hobi found a genius way to add in that reference to both the lyrics and the Music Video. 👏🏼 The child is wearing almost the same outfit as j.cole wears in the MV. This represents how much hobi idolized j.cole and found inspiration in him when he was young. At the start, you see j-hope help kid-hobi put his earphones on, pat his head, shake his hand, and wave to him as they both set off walking down their paths. It’s almost feels like he was comforting and assuring his younger self. Hobi’s verse starts “My two feet walk willingly, anywhere. J in the air” Hobi sets off on a life path that leads him to his destination “j in the air”, represented at the end by him and jcole on the roof. This is where “J in the air” takes on another meaning. He’s playing with the fact that they’re both J’s and they’re “in the air” now. He gave us a hint at his lolla performance “you can call me J” (also, “j in the air” is also a reference to his song Airplane which is about j-hope finding his success after so many hard trials.) “For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all. Even my walk was made of Your love and your faith.” He’s talking about how he worked so hard and made many sacrifices to make sure that the path he willingly chose to follow, became successful. he tells us that it’s bc of our love and faith that all his hard work came to fruition and is what made this path possible. “To repay you even from afar, just like a butterfly” He references BTS’s song Butterfly in this line. His verse:“like a wind that gently strokes me, like a dust that gently drifts along, Youre there but for some reason, I cant reach you” bc hes leaving for a while, he wishes to give this song as his message for us to always have & to comfort us while hes unable to be with us. “Now, just walk lightly, whenever you want Go on hopefully, wherever you walk In these streets imbued with someones breath I leave my soul and my eternity Everywhere (I’ll be)” No matter what path we chose, he wants to always be with us to be our piece of peace. “Every time I walk, Every time I run Every time I move, As always, for us Every time I look, Every time I love Every time I hope, As always, for us” He goes through the mv walking on his path. It shows him as a kid that was inspired by j.cole to him working hard throughout his youth practicing his love of street dance, to eventually climbing up from the bottom to finally reach his destination at the top where he meets and shakes the hand of the man who inspired him from the start.

Correction. 6:36 he's not dancing bcz all boybands dance or whatever. He's dancing because his roots lie in street dancing. He was initially a street dancer longggg before BTS and he would dance to JCole music. Hip-hop is in his blood esp old-school. You cam hear the 90's hh influence. JCole's FNL inspired him to do music and higher is his favorite song. He's a legendary dancer. Even after BTS, he would come live for hours and do freestyle dancing to hip-hop music including JCole. He would call those sessions Hope on the street. That's why the song is called On the street, and it's why he says "in these streets imbued with someone's breath, I leave my soul and my eternity" and "On the street, I'm still"... This will always be the biggest part of him. This song is also his last gift to us before his military service for about 2 years, so it's nostalgic and sad yet inspirational and hopeful. This song is him paying tribute to his street dancing roots and to his Biggest Idol: JCole. That's why he steps aside and gives JCole the most space in this song while he dances to his verse. Because of respect and homage. He couldn't bring himself to cut any part of his idol's verse. The MV has so much symbolism and it shows homage to JCole too. Hope starts at the exact same spot in the same alley where Jcole's "Simba" was filmed. Also, Hope remains underground and on the streets and places Cole on the rooftop and then finally rises there to meet him at the end. UGh, there is SO much more. Also, JHope is a rapper(also a songwriter, record-producer and dancer, can also sing and beatbox actually). One of the three rappers in BTS, two of which were underground rappers before BTS. BTS initially started as a hip-hop group and expanded to various genres. Hip-hop is still at their core though. They do many genres. Are not your typical boyband. And they've always paid homage to the OG's of hip-hop and legendary rappers in the K hip-hop scene. Their musical influences. Both in their songs and interviews etc. I know it's not your fault you don't know about them and their music. Most ppl dismiss when they hear boyband, and with the lazy and ignorant western media always portraying them as such only adds to that. I myself didn't know of their music and thought they were just another uber-pop generic boyband until I accidentally came across a song of theirs last year. They're also the ones who introduced me to the magic of lyrical rap and true hip-hop. I didn't get the appeal before, esp with the modern mumble crap. I found many great hip-hop artists through them including Cole. I'm still a beginner though.

This was awesome. I would be so very happy to get an opportunity to see with my own eyes when The Dad realises just how big BTS actually is. Not only korean fans cheered for J hope, let me tell you. I am from a small european country and I almost cried when I saw J hope working with his inspiration, his muse. BtS were the best selling recording artist in the WORLD in 2020 and 2021 and they can sell 4 nights in the Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas in pre-sale, in like an half an hour. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists in the BTS. The group started out as a hip hop group with bona fide underground rappers (RM and Suga), J hope started out as a street dancer, then came the vocalists. Their discography is soaked through with hip hop, and do these guys love their 90s /00s legends, let me tell you. They have a lot of fans in the US hip hop community, b/c they pay their respects and understand the culture. They worked with Wale, Anderson Paak, Warren G, Nicki Minaj, Juice wrld, Erykah Badu and there is a collab coming with Pharrell. It would be absolutely fantastic if you could set aside any misgivings and preconcieved notions you may have about them and what you think they sound like and check out their work. And I dont mean dynamite or Butter(nothing against these catchy pop songs, but i would hope you will digg a little deeper) As you seem to be hip hop/rap fans, my rec is Outro tear, a live rap performance in Wembley stadium in front of 60k people. Lyrics are included. (maybe it would be great to keep in mind that they wrote this song when they were contemplating breaking up the band in 2018/2019) kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3XYkn19jspre7M You cannot reach a level of fame and the loyalty of their following with only a catchy pop song, a pretty face and dope dance. This is all a part of the package, of course, but their essence, the thing that make people of all races, ages and social standing flock to them, lies in their relatable, often very poetic lyrics, and in the way they comport themselves as human beings. If you asked me to describe them in a couple of words, I would say: incomparable work ethic, humbleness and above all, love in its purest form Sorry for the essay, have a good day

I would also say most fans aren't in Korea. While they do have a lot of fans there, there isn't as many as people think there would be. A lot of it has to do with how the media didn't/doesn't report about them or not well enough or very often or twist their words to downplay BTS success. I am seen/read so many comments talk about how the locals didn't realize how big BTS were.

J Hope started as an underground hip-hop dancer. the BTS members are students of hip-hop. check out their songs: Hip Hop Phile cyphers 1 - 4 Born Singer (which is a cover/remix/sample) of J. Cole's Born Sinner. that's just to start. BTS started as a hip hop group and the term "boy band", only applies, as they are an all-male musical group. the similarities end there. J Cole leans more toward a lyrical and conscious style of rap.

Being classy, nice and emotional intelligent does not make a boyband something more than a boyband, that is a subjective assumption which doesn't mean it's the truth. You formulated your opinion as if it was a fact that was stimulated with strong objective arguments. As a registered nurse, I'd expect a critical thought process before formulating a opinion. Still a boyband, aside from the rapping in their songs, it vocals is what's the most noticable influential component in their songs. That is not a subjective claim, but rather an objective one. When thought about the wide spectrum of produce they have accumalated, the unbiased majority will come to the same conclusion. By that it is safe to assume, when rationally considered, that BTS can be acknowledged as a boyband. Not a BTS fan nor a music listener, since I'm 15 and try to to detox myself from overconsumption of misguidance. That should be kept in mind when reading this comment. Peace and blessing be upon all for those who seek it. - Adam Rhadouani.

They're one of my most beautiful discoveries many years ago now. Sincerely thank you for your reaction gentlemen. If you ever want to discover an another sound of j-hope, I suggest you 'More' (Jack in the Box, j-hope solo album) or 'Dis-ease' (BE, BTS album) for example, among so many other sounds he composed.

Oh ... this might turn into an even more interesting journey for you two, because BTS has so many good songs as a group and as individual artists. As they each branch out to release their solo albums, we are getting even more amazing music from each of them, before they start their time in the military.

If you want to ease your way out of your comfort zone you can start perhaps with other collabs with Western hiphop artists? RM x Wale *Change" and SUGA x Juice WRLD (released posthumously) "Girl of my dreams" are good options. For another j-hope collab, the English/Korean/Spanish reimagined "Chicken noodle soup" by him and Becky G could be interesting. Another option is BTS' Born Singer, their version of J. Cole's Born Sinner they've been performing live and updating since 2013 until they finally released it on their antology album Proof last year (there is a good live version with subtitles here in KZbin). For a BTS pure rap experience, Outro: Tear is one of my favorites

BTS's discography is extremely varied, they're very involved in writing and producing their music, and they often have very insightful and relatable lyrics, which is a big reason why their fanbase has such a wide range of ages, nationalities and diversity. They've basically become a movement! Their English songs are quite simple and poppy (i.e. dynamite and butter) and were made to have fun, but their Korean songs are a much better representation of what they're about. They have many rap/hip-hop tracks if you'd like to try some of their other stuff (you'll find subtitled videos for most of their songs). Here's a few suggestions: Ugh, Tear, Dis-ease, maybe Ddaeng. Thank you for the video! :)

Thanks for reacting to this amazing song ! It was indeed a gift as it was dedicated to BTS's fans before J-Hope enlists in the military for a couple years in a near future. J-Hope is a rapper, one of the finest in Korea too, but he was a street dancer for ten years before he debuted with BTS in 2013. This explains the spontaneous dancing in the video and the title but also why he wanted J.Cole to have such a big part in the song : so he could just be dancing as a tribute to his past as a dancer. So I don't know if I can speak for all of the Armys (their fans), but at least for me, I enjoy watching J-Hope dance as much as I like hearing him rap so J.Cole having a bigger part in this song did not disappoint at all ! 😄 J-Hope is literally the embodiment of hope for his fans. So the light "happy / touching song" with a bitter sweet tone makes perfect sense in this situation which, if I understood correctly, is also applying to J.Cole's current career's state. If you want to react to more of BTS, I think they will surprise you on many, MANY levels ! They're not only big in Korea but basically everywhere in the world and I know it's pretty hard to believe for a male group, but they have a huge male fanbase too. Probably one of the biggest "pop" singers ever had in my opinion. And that's because they have, no lie, the wildest range of music any artist have and hundreds of songs. That means, no matter what your genre is, you'll find songs you like and some you'll enjoy less. Anyways, as much as medias like to put groups in a box, BTS is no typical "boyband" and even in the Kpop industry, they're totally different. They're pionniers in some way. But most of all, they've been working very hard for a decade, literally starting from scratch in a company that was on the verge on bankruptcy only to have made this company one of the biggest economic sources in South Korea nowadays. There are 3 rappers (two of them being underground rappers before debut) and 4 singers. And on top of being amazing rappers, singers AND dancers ; BTS members write, produce, take part in the artistic concepts, music videos, dance choreographies, ideas... Everything basically, in collaboration with their company staff and artists. They're really on a line of their own and I think you'll see that for yourself when you react to more. That being said, you're really perceptive on many levels, can't wait to see more of your reactions :) If you do chose to react to BTS, I'll suggest maybe "Born Singer" (which is a wink to J.Cole) to slowly start. It's an older song but their more recent live version is pretty good. The video's title is "BTS (방탄소년단) - Born Singer - Live Performance HD 4K - English Lyrics" (by BTSPurpleYou) Also, I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS. They'll put you on many informations about the group, the members, how they work and everything basically. Because above learning about their group history, these guides make you understand their music a lot more in some way. I guess learning about the background of each member, their background as a group and the way they work for their craft, makes you understand the music (and the artistry) in a much more complete way. The most complete (and amazingly made) guide is : "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" (by Taylor Mari). Hope you'll react to it ! In any case, enjoy the journey !!

I'm glad you did your research before the reaction, but you didn't go quite deep enough. BTS isn't just a boy band and their reach is global. They are the biggest band in the world without exaggeration. BTS has its roots in hip hop. Dynamite and Butter are 2 of 3 fully English songs. They are very different from the Korean discography, and both of those are different from the Japanese songs. BTS is versatile and sing in many genres. Please don't put them in the 'pop boy band' category and then dismiss them. They are 7 incredible artists. I'm 59 and American and a proud ARMY. 💜 I hope you will listen to more of their music. I am subscribing with the hope you do. All the best. 💜

BUT guys, BTS is not the typical boyband, they consist of 3 rappers like legit experienced rappers and 4 vocalists. each of the rappers has their mixtape and solo albums that I would love to see you guys react. trust me you won't regret them. like this beat is originally created by jhope, from the whistle to beats. they are very talented rappers.

Great reaction guys! Very interesting commentary. You would not believe but BTS’s fans are worldwide, being Chilean myself, not only from Korea. We as ARMY are so much happy with this collab. jhope is not only a rapper but a dancer as well. He grew up dancing on the streets to JCole so watching him dancing to JCole’s verse made us very much proud and happy. j-hope name is Jung Hoseok, so both artist have a j in their names but definitely was an inspiration. We love other people fall in love with any of the members so maybe you can react to any of their songs. You can maybe check jhope’s jack in the box album, main single being Arson. Or BTS’s black swan song. Have a nice day.

While I appreciate your reaction, I am a 55 yo ARMY from Midwest US, you seem hung up on where BTS originates from and the fact that they are 7 young men which doesn't mean they are a "boy band". They are a group originally started as a hip hop group that now spans all genres. They are comprised of 3 rappers and 4 singers. J.Cole has been a heavy influence on them since the beginning. They sampled his Born Sinner for their song Born Singer early in their career and it had only been available on soundcloud until J.Cole gave his ok for it to be released last year on BTS anthology album, Proof. They have a discography of over 300 songs. JHope headlined and sold out Lollapaloza in Chicago last year for 100K people in person and 15M online live streaming and the last BTS concert in October was livestreamed to 50M fans worldwide. I encourage you to maybe put aside your assumptions and open your minds and give their discography a listen.

J-Hope has fans all over the world. I am a 70 year old guy from Chicago and I've been following BTS now for about 3 years. BTS has three rappers and four vocalists in the group. You mentioned Butter and Dynamite. Both of these were released during the pandemic and were designed to appeal to the American market, particularly billboard. Both music videos have more than 1 billion views on KZbin. These are not, however, typical of BTS. BTS has a wide-ranging style. I think you would enjoy Mic Drop which is a rap heavy track dissing all of their haters. Steve Aoki did a remix for the video. This music video also has more than 1 billion views. Although they come out of the K-pop genre, they are not exclusively producing pop music.

There are actually two versions of this song. Jhope shared with us he has a version where it's all him, and this one with Jcole. We're hoping he'll release his version too, because for sure he has a lot more to say than what's included here. Armys who have followed Jhope are happy with this song because it embodies his history. He wasn't a rapper at the beginning, he was a street dancer. He danced to hip hop tunes, including JCole's. And he get's to do that again in On The Street: freestyle dance on the street to his idol's music, with the added honor of collabbing on this song. So no, it's not a shame that Cole 'overshadows' him or anything, because that's not the point at all.

Love that you actually took your time and did the research !! We appreciate it. This song hits us fans a lot! J-Hope is straight-up a genius tbh ! One of BTS' main songwriters, composers, producers, and rappers as well as being the main dancer, dance leader, and co-choreographer! Cole has always been his muse and he's been so open about giving his idol homage every time and anywhere! J-hope started off as a street hip-hop dancer dancing to Cole and hip-hop growing up and then his career as BTS rapper/songwriter got inspired by Cole a lot ! Freestyling in the underground to Cole's verse while he is on the top of the roof !! And then meeting up on the top is legit a reference !! Furthermore, He composed the melody, whistle, and most of the beat working with his producer Pdogg. (Jay always makes his songs from 0-100 by himself). Honestly so glad about this legendary collab! Cole got a whole 30+ bar proper verse (Yall see how Jhope respects him?) and he ate it. Literally! Pleased that Cole is my boy Jhope's role model. He is such a wise person tbh! If you're interested please give it a shot and listen to J-Hope's Arson and MORE. He is insanely versatile, smart, and talented. And a true HipHop head. ('More' is boom-bap old school combined with Rock! interesting af)

The artist/fan relationship with BTS is like none I have ever seen and I have been huge into all kinds of music for many, many years. It is one of mutual respect and love. Because the boys documented so much of their journey from literally the bottom to the top we have seen their countless hours of grueling hard work, their drive and passion and have seen the hatred and disrespect they received over the years. J-Hope in particular didn't get a ton of love in the beginning even tho his is immensely talented and can do it all (rapper, dancer, singer, writer, composer, producer). We are so protective of them all because of what we've seen but particularly of J-Hope who now is headlining festivals like Lollapalooza, and collabing with his idol. So, no, none of us are disappointed. If anything we know our humble king and how he gave the respect to his idol that is deserved. No ego there. He doesn't need to prove anything to us. But, I will say that J-Hope is more known all over the world than J-Cole so he could have an ego but he does not.

Jhope goes to military service and before leaving he released this song in collaboration with Jcole who is the person who most inspired Jhope to be a rapper Jhope admires him too much and also he says that when he was younger he practiced his dance "on the street" with the songs of Jcole that's why when Jcole is rapping Jhope is dancing the song is very sentimental and beautiful. ps: JHope is a very good dancer he's amazing it's not like what "american boy groups" dances he dances many genres and he's great, when he was younger he was a street dancer (ironically that's why his song is called "on the street " ) also won many dance awards.

Just for some additional context. J Hope is a huge W. This song was a farewell to his fans (for a while) as he’s enlisting to the army as part of his duties. He’s been a Cole fan for a very long time (Friday nights) ect, and when born sinner dropped he made a song called “born singer” which is also great. J hope started off as dancer and so he let J Cole have the majority of the song so that he could pay homage and dance to the guy he looked up to and remember how he started off. Everyone in BTS are extremely talented for a reason and you should definitely check them out. All very creative and humble individuals.

Hi, nice channel😊I'm a grown woman from Sweden. Jhope made this song with the intention of having Jcole on it, without him even saying yes first. That's why he got Jcole extra time (hence the "with Jcole", not "ft. Jcole"). Naturally you then get to show more of what you can do. But no, we're not dissapointed that he didn't get more lines, since he was the one who made the song this way. We are so happy about this collab! But I have to say that the rappers in BTS are the best lyricists in the world. Their wordplay, the meaning, the play on with languages, but also the play with letters in the languages. BTS music incorporates psychological ideas, socio economic injustices, self-love and so much more which is not common at all. I have never seen anything like it before. Which is also the reason for why the fandom have such a huge range in age. I hope you guys give them a chance.

J Hope's real name is Jung Ho-seok. When deciding his stage name in 2011 he wanted to keep something of his name J for his family name and playing with his given name , came on J-Hope. Butter and Dynamite are two all English songs designed for western audiences. While I like Butter, I prefer the songs they create. They have over 300 songs in their discography--hip hop, edm, ballads, R&B and jazz infused, Latin beats. They have, as a group or on solo projects, collaborated with ColdPlay, Steve Aoki, Juice WRLD, Halsey, Megan Thee Stallion, Becky G, Paak Anderson, Erykah Badu, and many others. Only one member speaks English fluently (RM). J Hope apologized to J Cole that his English was so poor. J Cole responded that Hobi's English was better than Cole's Korean. BTS is big outside of Korea. As a 63 year old member of silver ARMY from the US, I can understand why. BTS is not like a western boy band, and has broken boundaries of the typical Kpop groups. BTS members write and produce music with authentic and personal lyrics, sharing their struggles and growth.

We are gonna miss him so much If we’re talking hip hip songs, mic drop would be a good bts song, intro persona, interlude shadow and Outro ego are the rappers set of 3 songs from their map of the soul albums. Hi Dad & Son: Close your eyes and realize that there is a little boy that Jhope is high fiving. Then realize that the street that Jhope is walking down is the same street that J.Cole walked down in his Music Video Simba. Jhope is walking the same road or following the same path. Jhope gently starts spittin' bars. You know that J.Cole is on the roof top. You realize that if JHope would have come out hard, it would have changed the feeling of the whole song. JHope says to us: ("My two feet walk willingly, anywhere J in the air (J.Cole is on the Roof Top) For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all Even my walk was made of your love and your faith To repay you even from afar, just like a butterfly".) This is an old school beat & vibe. From the late 90's to early 2000's. It's a slow roll. A song to feel good and to vibe to.

This song and MV is just heavy... everything it symbolizes is so heartwarming. As many has commented, Hobi is a huge fanboy of J. Cole, he has an album called "Hope World" just like "Cole World". This is him paying respect to one of his inspirations. The sentiment is that he's honored to have known J. Cole. Hobi freestyling on an underground tunnel and dancing to J. Cole's verse rapping at the rooftops in the MV- is parallel to the past where Hobi's an underground dancer freestyling to J. Cole's music. *_Both of their verses means so much in varying perspectives..._* I'm glad you both liked it!! I get the chills whenever I watch the MV. It still feels kinda unreal to me, cuz from the beginning their lives entwined in a way that Cole sparked Hobi and now they're face-to-face on their own success. I think it's very humbling and sweet that J-hope always pays homage to his origins. A track I would recommend if you want to know him through his lyrics is, J-hope's *"Chicken Noodle Soup ft. Becky G"* and yes he credited and payed for copyright to Webstar & Young B. He grew up passionately inlove with hip-hop ^♡^ and while I know you guys _listen_ to hip-hop, J-hope _dances_ to it. He freestyles on livestreams and those sessions are called *"Hope On The Street"* (H.O.T.S) Love your channel, stay healthy both of you!! 💜🐿️

thank you for the reaction! a lot of misconception around BTS vs boybands, but that’s usually what happens when people only hear their english singles (dynamite, butter...). i’d love to see the both of you watching more of their rap stuff, or even the r&b/soulful side of them. i’d recommend checking out outro: tear, or maybe the three rappers solo work! arson by jhope, wild flower by rm or daechwita by agust d!

This doesn't showcase JHope's talent because it's mainly focused on J Cole's rap. JHope used to be a street dancer before BTS, and he danced to J Cole's songs often. This song showing JHope going back to his root as a dancer. He's one of the three rappers of BTS, and they are talented individually. I am 48 years old, and this is the very first time I am a fan of anything. BTS are special, once in a lifetime thing. They are producers, composers, songwriters, performers, and dancers.

Most fans of j-hope don't mind that he had a shorter verse in the song - especially since a huge part of this song is dancing to j cole part (j-hope used to make dancing videos called "hope on the street" and he was a dancer first before he started making music - and j cole was a big inspiration to him). so in a way, this song is about going back to the beginning, reflecting on the past, and looking toward the future - but now side by side with the person who was his inspiration.

I saw that you reacted to Anderson Paak. RM, another member of BTS, has him as a feature on a song called Still life. I think you'll like it.

im not gonna write a super long comment explaining the significance of this song for both hope and armys bc i think theres enough already, but i will say whatever conceptions you have about boybands should be thrown out the window when talking about bts 😭. they are truly a once in a lifetime act and i dont say that lightly. one of the most beloved aspects of them as a group and as people is their sincerity towards their craft, and i really think yall would enjoy not only their music but them as people.

My daughter is BTS Army! Great band, not sure I would categorize them as a typical “boy band”. Love their positive messages and the diversity that each member brings to BTS. Thanks for the reactions, always insightful and entertaining!

Dynamite butter and permission to dance were all English pop songs to reach as many people as possible during the pandemic and of course they’re the only songs the radio played. We ask for their Korean songs and we’re called bots or simply get laughed at. Most of their songs are actually rooted in hip hop and r&b. They have 2 underground rappers and j hope was a street dancer.

Thank you for doing this reaction!! 💜 Loved your guys' views and perspectives! I felt the same as your dad when I first heard about BTS.....7 Justin Beibers?....no thanks. Then I heard their songs and watched their MVs. I would LOVE to see you and your dad react to something like 'Black Swan' by BTS. BTS songs have a very deep meaning to them. Then add to it, their cinematic MVs, phenomenal choreo with insane synchronization and the boys bringing such diversity........hip hop, trap, r&b, pop, band, EDM.......and more. They are very relatable. You will quickly see why they are the largest artist in the world with the largest fandom in the world. Looking forward to future BTS reactions from your channel!! 💜😊

im simple words "BTS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL BOYBAND" so please check them out. Some songs i would recommend - Mic drop, Magic shop, Spring day,UGH!, ZERO O' CLOCK. and one member of BTS, JIN is already been serving in military from december last year and others will too but next one going is JHOPE. Check out JACK IN THE BOX (by JHOPE), INDIGO (by RM, BTS leader) albums too and single by JIN b4 he left to military ASTRONAUT (coldplay helped him with this song.coldplay and bts members are very close after their collab song MY UNIVERSE)

I found your channel by your Eminem reactions, and liked the chill & genuine vibe. I’ve watched many videos since (loved Dad’s reactions to Tupac, Lauryn Hill, 50 Cent & Erykah Baku), but I was still very surprised to see you listening to a member of my favorite group 🤩 I won’t make any suggestions, because I know you guys are on your own musical journey right now, but if you ever did want to delve deeper into BTS’ discography I think there is a lot you would actually enjoy. Thanks for another great reaction💜
