i like that she held back a bit because this was also a massive comeback for the dixie chicks after they were blackballed, she let them have their moment. this performance was a massive statement in itself because black people are forgotten in country music as if they weren’t the originators. after this performance there was loads of racists complaining, while the show had its highest viewer ratings ever.

Did not realize the extent of the backlash over this CMA performance. However, fast-forwarding to 2024 with Beyoncé having the #1 country song in the USA seems like a form of poetic justice.

Yes, it was on her Lemonade album. The Chicks started covering it in their concert and Beyonce loved their version. The CMA's asked Beyonce to perform her song and she agreed only if the Chicks performed with her. Beyonce actually released this combo version right after the CMA's.

@mlh1367

@@mrexecutiveof course she ate. She always does. But Beyoncé tends to pull back when singing with others. This is an example. She sang with Ed Sheeran a few times and held back outside of the Stevie Wonder tribute. She also held back when she, Jennifer Hudson and Anika Noni Rose sang the dreamgirls medley together at the Oscars. Granted, she DID just come on the stage and overpower Jennifer reign a beautiful resonant F5 but once they all got together and were singing at the same time, she held back. Jennifer and Anika were basically in a screaming match anyway tbh. Another example is when she sang signed sealed delivered with Mariah and others. While she was still VERY impressive per usual, she held back.

Beyónce knows how to use every part of her range . She actually is an Operatic Mezzo - Soprano that happens to sing R&B , Pop , Hip- Hop and now Country . I don’t know why some of the racists like John Schneider are surprised since she’s from TEXAS , and she speaks with a Texas drawl . She grew up with it .

As someone who appreciates Beyonce's talent and contributions to the music industry, I must clarify that I am not a "fanatic." My admiration for her is rooted in a deep respect for her artistry and undeniable talent. In fact, I was fortunate enough to witness one of her earliest performances on the television show "Looking for the Star" in the mid-1980s. From that moment, it was evident to me that she possessed a rare and extraordinary gift. With each new release, Beyonce continues to astound us with her musical prowess and stunning vocals. Her unwavering determination and drive make her truly unstoppable. I am grateful for the opportunity to witness her evolution as an artist, and my admiration for her only grows stronger. While I do not find every song on her albums to my liking, I do appreciate the undeniable brilliance of her work. There are always one or two tracks that stand out and leave a lasting impact. Thank you for sharing your insights and providing a comprehensive scope.

So the writers for the song is Wynter Gordon, Beyoncé, Kevin Cossom and Alex Delicata. This was on Lemonade album, orginally without the Dixie Chicks and after this performance the remix was released. The sign Beyoncé throw up, when you thought it was a joint, was actually the hand logo for Texas. She always has thrown that up lol

Beyoncé wrote this song, it’s on lemonade. The Chicks covered this song on their 2016 tour and then they did this at the CMAs. Bunch of talented, bad bitches from Texas! I love that Beyoncé is getting her country creds!

Knowing the enormous backlash she received from this performance makes me cackle knowing she just went #1 with a country song. She’s such a beautiful human and is certainly not immune to racism & ridicule by her own people and her white counterparts. Best revenge is your success. She continues to reign supreme.❤❤❤😂😂😂
