Just to point out that when your wipers are off and only the metal rod is in the upwards position, be very careful not to accidentally let the metal rod fall towards the window! I've seen a smashed window because of that. If for whatever reason i have to let the car sit for a while without the wiper on, i always lay the rod down gently to avoid accidentally smashing the window.

This happened to me and I had to buy a new windshield. Now I always lay a microfiber cloth on the area of potential impact before I take the blades off.

Was about to say the same. I like to just put a shop towel on the windshield so if the arm does slip I don't do damage.

Just put a good-sized thick towel - like a bath sheet towel or a beach towel - across the windshield while changing the wiper blades.

I have a great dad too! But he’s a busy guy so I still appreciate this channel a lot!! I also sometimes need to learn slower so I can just rewatch the videos a few times lol. This man is SO WHOLESOME!!! We need way more guys like him and less like Andrew Tate. Seriously this guy on KZbin is such a Saint. I hope he knows how appreciated he is. I’m sure some who don’t have relationships with their dads or who sadly lost their dad might really appreciate this channel.

Learning how to replace windshield wipers, cabin and engine air filters and tail lights has saved me so much money. And shown me how much of an upsale filters are. I've had them tell me filters I just replaced needed to be changed and try to charge me 3x the amount to do so. Love that you are showing everyone how easy this can be!

I know this channel is primarily aimed at young folks, but I’m a 63-year-old woman and I’ve learned so much from you! I was raised with four younger brothers. My dad taught the boys how to do this stuff while I was stuck in the house doing “woman’s work”. It’s never too late to learn, though, and I really appreciate what you’re doing for all of us who need some new life skills! 😊

Hey Dad! Great Dad joke. I have never changed my windshield wipers before...& I'm 60 years old. Even older than you. I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer when I was 19 years old. He still needed to teach me more things before he left us. 💔😕 Unfortunately, that was not the way it worked out. I was "Daddy's Little Girl". I have 2 older brothers, but, it's not quite the same. Thank you for stepping in for me sometimes...even at 60, I need your assistance too. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊

Hi, I just found your channel. My dad had three daughters in a time when girls weren’t taught the same skills boys were. My dad was ahead of his time. He made sure we wouldn’t need to depend on anyone except ourselves. He also instilled in us the self confidence to search for a solution to a problem we didn’t know. You brought a smile to my face and joy to my heart. You are amazing.

This is a great time to also give your windshield a good thorough cleaning as well, and the gutter between the hood and windshield where the wipers rest. Also to test and fill your windshield cleaner.

There are still wiper "refills" (the rubber part) available, so you may have the option to replace them rather than the entire blade. If the blades get weak and don't hold the rubber insert down, it's time to change the whole thing. 🙂

I sincerely hope Mr. Kenney sees this... Hello, new to your channel. After seeing a clip of one of your vids in a compilation vid...I sat here and sobbed. Not because my Father was absent...not because my Father is bad in any way, he has always been a good Father. Only in the "old fashioned" way. He did everything with my sibling, expecting my Mother to do things with me. Well, I've always been a tomboy. Very athletic, etc. Sir, I am 56 yrs old, and I never knew what it was like to have my Father teach me things. The useful things you are sharing. Now I know what its like...and I thank you. Thats a feeling I will keep dear, the rest of my days.

This is great to see. There are several maintenance items on a car that can be done by just about anybody, but there's always mystery around them if you're not into cars. Dad's right that the auto parts guys usually provide these services as a courtesy but asking them to show you how usually ends up as a win-win for all. The customer now knows how to do the job and the parts guy got to teach somebody something new and next time he's on to the next customer. Another couple of great ones are cabin air and engine air filters. At just your average service center you're paying a 35%+ mark up on parts plus labor for a service you can often do with no tools in your driveway. Plus you get a sense of when something is out of place on your vehicle and needs the professionals.

Not only are you teaching adults who grew up without dads but my friend growing up and I are both not handy because my dad wasn’t handy and , although his dad was , my friend didn’t care enough to learn. 3 different scenarios of guys or girls that can’t do anything. KZbin has been a life saver on how to do the simplest things that would cost big bucks hiring out. Thank you for showing 4 mill subscribers “How to”. I’m now learning how to chop wood into kindle using a camping axe and a batoning method. Never heard of it and bought my first axe. Now I can show my kids. 😃

I went to a shop and they told me that they didn't need replacing and to clean them and the windshield with a degreasing cleaner and that if I have any more issues to go back and they'd have a mechanic come out and take a look and give me some advice. He hasn’t done it yet, but since he brought it up I wanted to comment. To those who don’t know how to change a tail light, it’s ridiculously easy, but the way the casing is set can vary slightly between cars so be sure to look up your model just in case. In my case, I have a 2015 Nissan Altima. The tail light can just be pushed off by applying pressure from the side toward the rear. So your hands are on the side of the light pushing toward the back. Once the casing is off, you just twist and pull out the bulbs of it and the bulbs come out of their sets just the same. The bulbs are all different sizes so there’s no mistaking where they go either. If you have to replace the whole array you’ll need to take off the side trunk wall which you may need a video to do if you’ve never done it.

Just saw a video about you. I just love what you're doing. You're awesome. Subbed to hear someone tell me I'm awesome & they love me. I'm 60...lol...but I bet I'll learn something, too 😉
