For my entire life the career of being an educator was laughed at and demeaned as "women's work" and the fact that women were doing it was used to justify the extremely low wages that teaches have been forced to live under. The entire system was stigmatized based on ignorant belief that being an educator, one of the most important jobs in society period, was glorified babysitting and it should pay accordingly. This has resulted in the education system we have today where any serious, career-oriented people can no longer work in education because they don't want to live a life of abject poverty being blamed and demeaned for the failures of parents and administrators. the top levels of our society FAILED teachers and therefor FAILED students and the fact that anyone could produce a podcast that blames all those failures on "women teachers" is just circling back around and doubling down on the original source of the problem.

Is that wrong? I had multiple teachers in grade school tell the class that they were glorified baby sitters. I think the first time that I heard this was the 4th grade. Education is the easiest college major.

@@sdrc92126 I mean I would say it’s wrong, yeah, lol. that attitude is exactly the problem- thanks for confirming everything I said. this is why our education system is a wreck and we have illiterate people graduating high school. Teaching is hard. Standards for educators should be high. So should pay. It’s literally NOT babysitting. Babysitters don’t teach anybody anything. So if you say teaching is babysitting then you get uneducated students. You get what you pay for.

You are quite wrong - we have been shoveling more and more and more money at "education" for decades, and the problem has only gotten worse. The teachers unions are to blame for this, they are 100% in the leftist ultrawoke camp, and they emphasize completely absurd ideas rather than actually teaching. Many teachers are completely ignorant and could not get any other job, the union protects them so it is impossible to get rid of them.
