Love a good rhyme. Each and every time. Standing and sitting with large boulders the size of small boulders is one hell of a core workout. I'm guessing the Talmud would have strong feelings about putting your weights away.

OMG! As soon as you said "because this is the Talmud", the first thing I thought was "is this going to be a Yevamot 54 callback?" I'm so sorry you had to re-experience that, but at the same time, 🤣🤣🤣 WHY ARE THEY SO OBSESSED WITH THIS?! Was there a rash of adults-only tripping and falling in Babylon at the time?

Brooke, the HORROR I experienced when, in peeking to tomorrow’s Daf, I saw the ghost of yevamot 54 looking back at me! I swear to GOD, I will never escape this impossible scenario! We are all trapped with it, forever!!!

I have so much to say right now, but I'm going to go back to last Thursday when I was sitting with my SIL and my 2yo niece was on her lap. I was showing her your room decorating skills, and, well, 2yo niece thinks you're Elsa. The 5yo niece wasn't convinced. I told them you do have magic... Do you think everytime the sages "randomly" go off on "discharge from the sex organs" (Metzora bat mitzvah parsha left an impression), they are telling on themselves or their wives? We are talking about animals eating or goring and the next thing we know...menstrual blood 😒 Going off to read today and tomorrow's daf now. Thanks for the warning. Can't wait for the feats of acrobatics that await!

I am honored that your smaller niece things I’m Elsa, even if the older one is shrewd enough to be suspish. I commend her for her not buying into the hype😂! I think what I’ve decided is that in some ways the sages being not prudes was overall probably a good thing. But it is vastly unpleasant to be compared to animals, or fields, or other inanimate objects because it’s easier to do that than compare women to…GASP! …men. That’s a bridge too far! Tomorrow’s Daf looks like it has a LOT going on, and I honestly don’t know if the yevamot 54 callback is the highlight or the worst part. What a nightmare question to contemplate!

@@MiriamAnzovin as far as the older one, she met the "real Elsa" at her bestie's birthday party, and she likes blue, so you're definitely sus. The younger, who is my fellow purple girl, said "you need blue to make purple (I taught them that, if nothing else) and aunt alli said she has magic", and they side-eyed each other for a good 5 minutes while eating grapes. It was the quietest I had ever seen them. Anyway, after impaled baby daf, I'm ready for...anything, really. As far as falling into our "pit" from high altitudes, didn't read ahead, but if the past was an indication, tomorrow should be...something.

@@MiriamAnzovin "...and extended her hand" has been my new favorite expression to use for oh so many things, lately. I'd go through so many pairs of gloves and there isn't enough soap, but if I had to hear "grab 'em by the 🐱", my response is now to "extend my hand". I really want to believe so many of these dafs are filled with hypotheticals only, but there had to be a reason, and the impaled babies was just too much for me. I'd tap out, but there is still years to go, and I'm not giving up now! But still 😮‍💨

Don't you just hate it when you're casually dropping a jar off a roof and the person below hits it with a bat? Also, my ex husband didn't have eyes. He did have prosthetics, though. One day, my then-toddler found his prosthetics. You haven't truly lived until you're taking your husband's eyes out of your toddler's mouth.

Oh…dear! You are right, I certainly have not had that remarkable experience and I don’t think I’ve truly lived either! And yes I feel like the whole bat/jar thing was akin to when we played hackey sack in art school with ZERO thought to the various objects/people who were just innocent bystanders!

As a music major, we would *never* have done things like that. (don't mention the completely random snowball fight that our group from Phoenix had that definitely didn't hit anyone just wandering by. nope.) And seriously, one of the highlights of my life was the eyeball thing. Really. At least she didn't swallow them. That would have been an interesting ER visit.

Ah yes, Yevamot 54, inventing a real answer to the common sarcastic response to cheating of "did you trip and fall eggplant first onto them"...I don't think I (or my friend group) will ever be able to forget that one.

Yevamot 54 will haunt me until the day I depart from this life, hopefully make it to the next world, and then I’m gonna have a MAJOR discussion with the sages about WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!

I thought you would only blind men with your beauty, not with a knife. What is the penalty for breaking someone's heart? What if the person who put the rock on the person's lap was the same person who got their toe squished. Contributory negligence. Wondered about how tall those roofs were in tomorrow's Daf.

No penalty for heartbreaking as far as I have learned thus far. And luckily I haven’t blinded anyone. Yet!
