So damn good... Brian Baker.. His improv and tight rock solid playing is what carried this band live. My fav HC guitarist.

Dave Smalley and Ian Mackaye are the best vocalists ever to sing in DC bands. In July of 1986 I was in the hospital for several weeks. My family asked if I wanted them to buy me some new records that they’d record to cassette for me to listen to on my Walkman. I just got the new issue of Suburban Voice zine and Dag Nasty was on the cover so I told them I’d like the new Dag Nasty album. When I listened to the tape I was totally floored! It sounded a lot like Out of Step and the vocals were phenomenal. Up until that day I only heard Smalley sing in DYS so it was kind of a shock to hear him sings in such a drastically different way. He’s a very talented and versatile singer.

Got to see them with 3 different singers , 2 different bass players , 2 different drummers in 2 different Centuries in 5 different cities . Enjoyed all the different line-ups , but the Can I Say era the best ! Thank You Dag Nasty Band & Show .

oh shit man you must be as old as me....over here in s.oz i had this puppy on my turn table not long after it came out..had it many times since..very jealous you got to see them so much..not many came to australia..but did see dk/no means no/dri/poison idea/propaghandi and others and more awesome oz bands than you can poke a stick at...cheers from Ty in s.oz

Just my 2 cents, but I saw them in all their different phases. Love Dave S and he seriously put on a great show, but Seeing Sean front them in the early days.... that was a sight to be seen. Those shows were loose, chaotic, and totally HC
