Recipe for Bread Machine Sandwich Bread:
1 Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Half and Half
3 Tablespoons Softened Butter, Salted or Unsalted
3 3/4 Cups Bread Flour (I prefer King Arthur Bread Flour)
3 Tablespoons Sugar (You can use less or omit, if you prefer)
1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
1 1/2 teaspoons Instant or Active Dry Yeast
Place ingredients in bread machine and start!
If you prefer, as I do, put bread machine on the dough cycle. When machine beeps, remove dough. Give 2-3 turns to gently knead into smooth ball. Pat out slightly into a rectangular shape and then roll into loaf form. Tuck ends. Place loaf into buttered loaf pan to rise.
Allow to rise about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bake on 375 for 30-40 minutes.

I can’t wait to try this recipe! I use my bread machine every week because I refuse to pay the price for store bought bread these days. Plus it tastes so much better. ❤

You are so kind, Deborah! When I was in elementary school, our teacher would reward us once or twice a week, if we had been good students. The reward was to hear her read from one of her wonderful chapter books. As we neared the end-of-school-year, she made her way ever so slowly (too slowly for us!) through, "Little Women." We all were on our very best behavior so we could hear the finish before summer break! LOL. Thanks for visiting with me! ♥

Hello Sherry! Yes, I do have a bread machine. When I make bread I usually do as you do. Using the dough setting. I cover my bread with a clean tea towel. And sit it on my stove top while I preheat the oven. I love the smell of bread baking! Thank you for sharing this recipe. ❤️🤗🙏🏼

It’s always a joy to visit with you through KZbin, Sherry. I loved the devotion you read. Food (bread!) for the soul. And after hearing you talk about making bread, and remembering the aroma of the homemade yeast rolls my mom used to make, I told my husband that I think I may want to get a bread machine. Right now!

Hi Linda!! I was just telling another friend that I have seen several very nice (like new!) machines in my local thrift store for about $10! If you are looking to pay less than full price, that might be a great place to start. Thanks so much for visiting with me and leaving a comment! ♥

Hi Sherry! Wow, your bread turned out SO beautiful! I can almost smell it from here!! Yum! Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. I don't yet have a bread machine but I was just thinking about one a couple of days ago. Hopefully I will locate an affordable one soon and I will try this recipe. I LOVE Guideposts. When I was a kid, my mom always subscribed to them and I read them every time they would come in the mail when I got home from school. I'm 42 now and mom and I still subscribe to them. We have the monthly Mornings with Jesus book subscription, but the big one you have looks amazing. Will check into that one as well. Thank you for sharing!! God bless you dearest. I look forward to your next video. It gave me a lot of encouragement for the rest of my day. Thank you, Sherry! Love, Seraphina.

Hi Seraphina! If you are in the market for a reasonably priced bread machine, look at your local thrift stores. I have seen several there recently and considered buying a second one, just in case. I am loving, "Mornings with Jesus." It's so enjoyable to read each morning. Thanks for all your kind and supportive words! Love♥

My bread machine is probably 30 years old! It only holds 2 cups of flour and forms a round loaf. I only use it to just make dough, I take the dough out and firm rolls,…they are delicious. I’ll try your recipe for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you will enjoy it, Kim. I gave my daughter a loaf before she went to pick up her kids from school. She said they tore into the loaf as soon as they got into the car and had eaten the whole thing before they arrived home! LOL. That's when I knew for sure it was a hit!

Hello Ms. Sherry!! I love your bread recipe!!! It's as easy as you say and I love how the bread tastes. This is my third go-around. I can't use my hands too well so I bake the bread in the machine. I added 3/4 cup of rye flour to 3 cups of bread flour, 2 large eggs, raisins, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, caraway seeds, and 1 Tbsp of cinnamon. It was wonderful! I truly love your comment about needing spiritual food which is so important for our daily lives. Many blessings to you and your family. Wishing you a healthy happy New Year.

Aww, thanks for answering! I forgot to add 1/4 cup of milk more because the rye flour needs a little more liquid. You inspired me and I'm truly appreciative. I love your channel!! Hi, dear friend! 😊 Your homemade bread looks like it would win a prize at the County Fair!!! ♥️ It looks scrumptious!!!! I don’t have a bread machine. I wonder if this would be possible to make without one? I would love to start baking bread occasionally, however, I LOVE bread and it couldn’t happen too often because it would be hard for me not to eat some with every meal. Lol! Thank you for sharing your new Devotional with us! I bought a couple new ones at Ross’ the other day when out with my sister. One of my favorites however is “Jesus Is Calling”. A friend sent it to me in the mail several years ago…and each year I start over again because as you said, I forgot what the devotion was for that day a year ago. It has been such a blessing. Your video visit was such a wonderful surprise! Have a blessed week and I look forward to seeing you soon! ♥️🥰🙏

Sherry how funny! I just pulled mine out about 3 months ago. I have almost the exact recipe. It came out perfect every time and everyone loved it. I got a major flare with my psoriatic arthritis only to have to start back on biologic injections as well as an additional medication. We then had to add on steroids and if you have taken them with your Lupus? I know you quit with your meds, but I can’t remember if you started with something else. You look great and always love to see you. 😀💕marnie
@thehomespunwife
@thehomespunwife Жыл бұрын
Hi Marnie! I am sorry to hear about your flare. I know that is disappointing and I recall how hard that is on both body and spirit. I have been in remission for several years now and I take no regular medications. I do experience little flares from time to time but they are infrequent. I find that getting extra rest, taking Tylenol Arthritis, drinking lots of water, and eating a spoonful of local honey once or twice a day, really helps me when I am going through heightened inflammation. Once every year or two I might need to take a short round of steroids to get things under control. Fortunately, I haven't required any this year so far. I pray your symptoms will be alleviated by your medications, Marnie. I am not sure which biologic you are taking. The one I took the longest was Remicade. Praying for you, friend. ♥

Hi Bev....I have read a couple of their books. I think the last two I read were from the Grace Chapel Inn series. I found one of them at a thrift store and one at the library. I have even considered ordering some of those from Guideposts. I really enjoy that type of book. Thanks for visiting! ♥

@@thehomespunwife I like Tales from Grace Chapel Inn! Also take a look at Secrets of the Blue Hill Library (Guidepost cozy mystery). I have a couple of Mysteries of Silver Peak (Guidepost), but it's kinda slow and I tend to loose interest. I like the At Home in Mitford series. It's not Guidepost, but still Christian based.
