We had bats in our house one time years ago. That was it for me! We were renting at that time, and I left and never went back. LOL, my husband moved us out with his friends. LOL. I do not like them at all. Eeeek! So I won't be visiting any time soon. LOL, I hope and pray this country turns around. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Hi Sherry, living on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island we have somewhat different critters, but I really enjoyed listening to you! Ants and bats remind me of my childhood in South Africa 😍 Isn't it interesting that the Bible speaks well about ants - we can look at their hard working nature and be inspired! But yes they can be a terrible nuisance in the house... I do hope they don't return anytime soon, that you don't have health consequences down the road from the insecticide, and that the bats don't bother you too much. As for God speaking through nature - yes I am sure He does, definitely in the Psalm 8 sense! In fact, this sent me googling for scriptures about how nature proclaims God's greatness and I found a lot!! I think I'll have to do Scripture writing about that now 🥰🙏🏻💖 But I would also say we need to be very careful with looking for omens in nature, the Bible is very clear that we shouldn't go down that road. Thanks again for sharing, and many blessings to you 💕

A few weeks ago we were in bed watching tv and giving our baby her nighttime bottle when in flew a bat into our bedroom!! It was a crazy storm that night and we had our doors open to try and chase it out. Leaves were blowing all over into our house. It was so wild!! We really weren’t expecting a visitor to come snuggle with us that night 🤣🤣

Oh goodness, ants are bad enough to deal with which we have but bats, wow!!! We had a snake slither through my kitchen out at an old farmhouse! I stomped all around that floor and never saw another one Husband found a whole nest of them outside and took care of them!! 😊

Hi Sherry, thankfully no bats in our house but we do have carpet moths (I live in Ireland). I recall my mother talking about moths during my childhood, then no evidence of them until recent years. We moved furniture to paint the walls and found that the moths had damaged our carpet! I am hearing more talk too in my knitting community about needing to protect our precious expensive wool yarn.

Omgosh Sherry for years we dealt with those little ants. I had a pest control company here for years spraying outside every four months. After three years it was finally under control. We eliminated any mulch outside, sealed off cracks outside and I do not let anything out on counters. Now, instead of using a pest control company we use terro ant traps which work wonderfully. Thankfully your ant problem is under control now. Listening to this video I could so relate to your frustration.

I am so glad your ant problem is resolved, Michelle, and that you have a way to treat them if a few show up. It was the most difficult pest problem we've ever had in our house. It really can drive you nuts!

Those tiny ants would be a wonder if they weren't such a nuisance. Sprinkle Amaro Ant Block every 3 months around the house and they won't come back. It's ant bait. We had a bat in our last home, which was an old farmhouse. Our children were little at the time, and our middle daughter who was 5 or 6 said, "Oh a brownie!" and started walking toward the kitchen corner. Thankfully, she moved a chair to pick up the "brownie" and that caused the bat to scurry around. All the children screamed of course. It was quite easy to capture him because they can't fly from the ground. This is one of their favorite stories to relive. God provides so many interesting diversions to keep us occupied :D

Hi Sherry! Oh my you have had your hands full! I'd feel the same way about the bats and the ants! We have lived in our current home 3 1/2 years, located at the base of South Mountain in south central PA. We have chipmunks and rabbits galore! As cute as they both are they do a lot of damage to your flowers and gardens. I've seen two coyotes run through the yard. Just this week a young buck ran through my yard. Black bears do come down off the mountain into the neighborhood but I've never seen one here. And about month ago we had a couple of really cold nights - down in the 40's and we got a mouse in the basement! We have never had one in the house before. It took us about 4 days to catch it. My neighbor catches chipmunks in a live trap and then he takes them to a nearby pond and forest. He actually caught a mouse and a chipmunk together recently. The crazy weather I think can attribute to these odd sightings. You have a lovely home, so you can at least say the bats have good taste! Be well dear friend!
@thehomespunwife4 ай бұрын
Haha! Your comment about the bats having good taste made me chuckle, Kim! I envy you for your cooler nights. We are so hot here and haven't had a normal winter or spring. Stay careful out there with the wildlife, friend! Sending hugs to you!

Yes, I've had an ant problem for 2 years. It's those little bitty tiny ants. Ours was in the kitchen. They came and put bait out on my kitchen counter. I hated that being on there because I don't have very much counter space to begin with. I had to call back 3 times to finally get rid of them. It was nerve-racking, and after about 5 weeks, they were gone. That has happened 2 years in a row. Be glad...if that's possible...that they were in the bathroom and not the kitchen. Food prep and cooking were a nightmare. Nature....hmmmm!!

Yuk...we had a bat between the basement window and plastic we put up. There was a tiny hole in the foundation it squeezed in. My husband is a hvac mechanic so he took freon and froze the bat to get it out. Then while building onto our house we had one fly into the wall and got stuck. Dh had to get that one out. I have ants alot. I had them come through kitchen cabinets, outlets in my walls, under the doors. Then for the first time ever O had big black carpenter ants in the basement. I had an exterminator come spray every tbree months around the house for last two years. Seems to help. Now Im dealing with mice in tbe kitchen which is the grosses thing of all. Usually in winter sometimes we get them but this is first time in summer. Ive lived here for 46 years and never had to deal so much with pests. If I had to listen to bats in the house I would freak out.

Growing up we had bat's on our attic from time to time and yes, once in awhile they would pop in for a visit...eek! I've had ants in a bathroom medicine cabinet b4 also. They were attracted to the children's medicine! Our ant problem was no where near as major as your tho. My only advice is to be grateful for small creatures coming to visit. My sister has a bear coming to her property every now and then and he comes right up by her house...yikes! Nature is wonderful and unpredictable.

Hello Sherry, yes ants I hate them but they show up always when the weather change and if rain are on the way....I mostly get ants in our kitchen...Did you know the bats are used in some place (here in South Africa at some lodges we stayed at going to Kruger National Park) to control the mosquitoes. That was very interesting..they had these little bird house in and around this fancy lodge we stayed in and during the day they sleep in these kind of bird house and at night they will come out. I will see if I can find a photo the we might have taken and email you...but in my house it will be freaky I agree with you...take care and God bless...

We live on a mountain in NW WA state. Have been delving into herbs for natural health. You were talking about your eyes and such. You also mentioned the things of nature as, sort of "sign". Don't know how I feel about the "sign" thingy. But I have heard herb folk say "if there is a lot of a herb in a year, could mean something is coming" etc. Well we use Mullein Tincture for congestion, cold systems, ears and such. During the Covid thing Mullein plants grew HUGE on the mountain. Maybe for the coming storm of sickness? Who knows. This year the tree pollen was horrific. Have always had reactions to tree pollen. So, this spring I tried some Mullein tincture just to see if it would help with allergy reactions. By-cracky - it worked! Not into all the drugs that are pushed on us - so it was wonderful to find, that a plant made by God could help. Just a thought :) Sorry about your ants darlin. Glad you got it fixed - sorry to hear you had to use so many chemicals to fix it.

Oh the timing of this! Where were the bats when you needed them in the crawl space 🐜 🐜 🐜 🐜 We went from snow on Memorial day to 100° the next week and it has stayed there. It's 105 today. My entire vegetable garden just gave up the ghosts in one day. The crickets, box elder bugs and deer are devouring everything. Soo crazy

I live on the 10th floor of a 10-story apartment building so we have definitely had our share of creatures getting in the building. The worst was mice. They over took the building for almost a year. They started to bait them but instead of going outside the mice were dieing inside of the walls of the building...including behind one of my bedroom walls. It was so psychologically challenging. The building (and my bedroom included smelled so horrible). Praise God that's over. As well as the blessing I was not one who had the mice gain entry into my unit as many others had. We also had a few bats getting in through the ventilation system this spring. After about 4 bats they finally closed off the entry point. They are protected here in Canada too so they must have been able to inspect the system to ensure there was so breeding happening.
