The 2013-2014 2.0 Turbo is lighter, has more torque, easier to steer, weave through traffic, and has less understeer. Minus is the Turbo shuts off around 115mph maxing out your torque there. I have the 2014 Ultimate in Red it's very heavy & bumpy on 19" rims otherwise no complaints at 64,000 miles.

On track the car doesn't like the aggressive touch, but clean lines, if you are aggressive the car wants only one thing, drift, setup the camber, better tires, let the steering wheel open from apex acceleration, the car just grips and pushes you forward. Once you got to understand how the car works it's really great and can embarass some more blasonated cars of around same power/weigth ratio. it's just a blast to drive, and as you said, very fun car :). The only true weakness of the car is in the transmission both manual and auto are performance capping, the manual it's not enough fast and the AT8 is too much conservative/slow ecu, specially in downshifting.

With the track model he should have factory camber bolts. They can give a pretty solid amount of negative camber if you mess with them.

How heavy is your shift knob? I also have a coolerworx shifter and love it. I just want to cut down on vibration a little bit.
@mattwiser79823 жыл бұрын
That is a DC spots knob and I think it’s a pound. I was able to get rid of most of the rattle by installing that and backing off the little stopper screws for the reverse lockout.

Trying to rotate on a non square set always sucks. In autox I always hated it. That said you have to change your expectations with total grip and rely back into the chassis. Which to me is the big question. How is the genny chassis.

He went from 20’s to 18’s.. hmm I wonder what the engineers were thinking putting those 20’s on that car..
@UberSpartanVG3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffisevil They put 20s on mainly for looks to sell the cars. 18s is a good size wheel for those cars. Bigger wheels doesn't mean it will handle better, just have some better response with higher sidewall rigidity, but at the cost of ride quality and ability to handle imperfections in the road as well as more expensive wheels and more expensive tires.
@jeffisevil3 жыл бұрын
@@UberSpartanVG Larger tires improve handling and cornering, due to wider tread faces and stiffer sidewalls. Wider tires may decrease braking distances on dry pavement. Wider tires may also increase acceleration, especially in very powerful vehicles such as muscle cars.
@UberSpartanVG3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffisevil Wider tires yes, 100%, but you said 18s vs 20s. Your not gonna see much difference between a 275/30-20 and a 275/40-18 on a 20x11 and 18x11. The sidewall rigidity does matter that much. But yes I understand width increases traction.
@mattwiser79823 жыл бұрын
I went from 19’s to 18’s and added the same amount of width in the front and back. This is only a street car and I wanted low grip tires so I can have a little fun without having to go very fast. The problem is/was with the car and not having the ability to do a proper alignment from the factory and we solve these issues in the next video.
