I worked for a Class II supplier for Winstar back in 2006. I used to travel there to help out from time to time. This supplier had a wireless tablet that they could use to change game options on a single game or a bank or multiple banks of games at a time. What they would do on Friday mornings was to change the % on some selected banks down one level and then change them back on Monday morning. They didn't change every game, just some certain selected games. After changes, the tablet would cause the games to reboot and when they came back up, they were now a different %. This was Class II at the time, in Class 3 what he is saying is accurate.

You obviously haven't been to the Indian casinos in New Mexico. Especially the one 20 miles west of Alb. You could win once in a while in the small casino before the pandemic, and after the pandemic, you can barely win 20 dollars. They can to set limits that you say they can't. You could hear people scream when they won and now you never hear anything from anyone. They were closed for over a year, and now they are making up for it.

My experience has been very similar with the "indian " casinos in Michigan. The pandemic nearly destroyed them. Especially the casinos near the Canadian border, where a significant percentage of their business crossed the border on weekends. I will not believe the casinos cannot "tighten up" the machines in order to make some of their profits back. Some casinos have still not opened gaming tables during the beginning of the week.

ABSOLUTELY - after covid my casino in MILWAUKEE, WI has done the same thing. Before Covid you could bring $100 to our casino and play for a couple of hours. Now after covid $100 probably won't last 10 / 15 minutes. In fact after covid you have to bring $500 just to last a couple hours now. I disagree a casino can't regulate when a machine can & can't win. The best time I've won consistently is between 5:30 am - 10:00 am at our casino. You can just tell that the machines stop paying after 10 am. I also believe they can regulate individually what you win. If you've won big, and you were using your players card; the computer knows this and the machine WILL NOT allow you to win, because you've won big prior. Also yes there is a control room/ where they look through cameras AND they can turn a machine off & on any time they want. I bet any money that they loosen up machines for you tubers to promote the casino. I've seen too much in more than 30 years of gambling & things at casinos they are very fishy & suspicious. My last visit to our casino, I knew they 'shut me down'; they saw me come in, read my players card & turned off every machine I was playing. EXAMPLE; I had $300 AND I love the BAG GAME. I figure that I could last 3 or 4 hours, get a number of bonus's & have some fun. WRONG. I had a total of 3 / yes count them/ 3 bonus's out of that $300, I was playing at my .88 cent bet. And to boot my total amount that I won on those 3 bonus's was ......wait for it, my total I won on THE BAG GAME, betting 88 cents on my 3 bonus's was $6, yes $6 not a typo. My 1st bonus was $2, my 2cnd bonus was $2, my 3rd bonus was $2. WOW - 3 bonus's that totalled not even enough to buy a McDonald's 🍔🍟 value meal. Out of the $300 bank roll my total amount I won on bonus's that session was $6/ for real. That's the RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR? Any 1 believe that after what I experienced. People at the casino open the machines up all the time. I'm sure they can adjust the machines tight or loose anytime they want. I have a challenge for the people making this video; Show up to the Milwaukee casino unannounced & play a session; Tell me if you believe what your saying here after.

I am convinced cruise ships bring in “plants” who bet large amounts and win consistently, the idea being other gamblers will do the same. The “plants” are paid to do this. I practically live in cruise ship casinos, and see people I have never seen before, come in, make larger bets, say $50, and consistently win huge jackpots for HOURS on several machines. They attract a large audience. Anyone else loses consistently on those machines after the leave. And I never see the “plants” again.

Playing here in Oregon at tribal casinos, where there is no state law for minimum payback percentage, I know for a fact they absolutely remotely monkey with the machines. After a recent ice storm where casinos had to close for almost a week and saw a huge loss in revenue, when reopened no one in the casinos was winning. I went to multiple casinos that I frequent on a regular basis and all were like this. One slot attentant told me that the previous day there were zero handpays for his entire shift for the first time and he's been there for 10 years. Keep in mind the casino was extremely busy. On the older machine you're showing it may have limited setting and functions but I have to assume newer machines with remote access are easier to manipulate

If I’m not trying to accumulate points for status, then I will remove my players card. We do play slots, but I primarily play roulette. On a particular cruise about 1-2 yrs. ago after not doing too well on a session, I returned to the same roulette table about an hour later, still having chips in my pocket and started playing, but got away with withholding my players card this time. It was a packed table just like before, but the dealer was different. Result was I began winning again. To eliminate the possibility of just a “one off” I repeated this pattern over the next few days. The pattern wasn’t perfect, but 75% of the time, using my players card resulted in lower winnings. The wife didn’t believe me at first, so I demo’d this pattern to her at the live roulette tables over the next few days, and she just said; “unbelievable”, how can they do this ? So, if I need points to reach a certain status goal, then they get my players card, if I don’t need points and just want to make a profit, then they don’t get my players card. One caveat though, the dealers and their boss, the pit boss ?, aren’t happy about this and sometimes will ‘fight’ you on this issue. I have taken this up with the Casino manager, and although he was adamant and very pushy about the use of my players card in the casino, ultimately he conceded that it was indeed “legal” to play without ever using my players card, so I would then throw his name and title around if I encountered future resistance from the dealers, then they relented and allowed me to play.

People often think that online slots don’t work just the way that casinos do - but if they’re properly licensed/regulated and using games provided by a reputable developer then they work in just the same way. Many won’t just tell you the RTP but also the variance. The other thing that many slot players don’t understand is the law of diminishing returns. I’m quite new to your channel so I’m not sure if you’ve covered it.

Heres a reality check… my friend bought a used machine in Vegas. It was double double bonus, from the 90’s, pretty old now, but this was around 2001 or so. Opening the machine, in the settings, there were payback levels you could select. I remember the one level called “miser”. Very tough to win in that mode! Why couldn’t the Native American casinos, who are not subject to the same regulations here in MN, switch the settings via the network?

I would say yes, casinos can control your payouts, they can make win or lose, they have all your records, and this records are shared to the other casinos through a system. If you won s jackpot in a casino, all the other casinos in your city knows about it. When you go back next time, they will make sure you lose it back to them, they may let you win again, but if you are trying to be smart and leave the casino whenever you won, their shareable data collector will notice that, and they will make sure you are in loosing strike for a while to get ride of you. It would be easy to reverse engineer that game with a small group. 3000 plays is 100 spins/person with 30 people. That can be done in a single day without too much commitment from any single player. Have each player record their own play and then tally their stops later on.

Up in NY there are several of these. You have to be 18 to gamble, not 21. Can they change the percentages at a local facility for an entire casino? Those are must-win by progressives. They will grow over time based on the amount of coin in put into the machine. Whenever the progressive is hit and it resets, the slot machine will randomly pick a number within the range of the progressive. Example, if the range is 4,000 to 5,000, it will pick a number between that. Once the progressive meter hits that number, the progressive is awarded and the process repeats.

So can a casino have the manufacturer program the machine to reduce the amount of winning combinations during a bonus round for the size of the bet? That then means the casino has no control over the game, but the chances are reduced by the manufacturer during different phases of the game? Also bet size. Can the manufacturer have at minimum bet the payback at 98%, but at Max bet the payback at 85% Statistically it appears to be so.

Why would they? He states very clearly in the video how it works: casinos keep a percentage of coin in. A 10% hold for a 3 quarter bet is $0.075 per play (on average) for the casino. 2% hold on a $100 single credit wager is $2.00 on average. The casino wants to encourage bigger wagers because it means more money exposed to the hold percentage.

I mention it because I've been keeping track of spins and events and the data clearly shows a difference that is significant. The machines that are available to me are not regulated by any gaming commission. I believe what you say only to the degree that they must follow the gaming commissions rules. @@4jp I can not tell you what I have found, but it is enough statistically to prove my case with an exception. A Few Questions about this:... Is that percentage payout based on that single machine, a group of machines, the overall casino take-in? Is the take in based by the hour, day, week, month, quarter year, year? Is that guaranteed percentage of 20% "kept" by the casino....by the hour, day, week, month, quarter year? Do the machines reset after jackpots? Are the 80% payouts to the players distributed to all players within the casino, then subtracted from each machine, group of machines, the entire casino? I have noticed that Encore Boston slowly swapped out lower to more high volatile machines after Covid regulations were discontinued. As of the last few months there has to be at least 100 new Fire Link machines. That's where the casino is increasing their revenue. Class 2 (bingo for example) are run on a central server because it's a bingo game. But, the same rules apply - they can not alter the payback % without regulatory entities present. Malfunctions to deny payouts are extremely rare - slot machines are built in anticipation of malfunctions so that it can preserve the integrety of the game at all times.

In my 40 years of running casinos , i bet there was 50 times where a machine malfunctioned and when corrected the patron was awarded a payout of some sort . The biggest was over $100,000, so it goes both ways.

If a gamimg jurisdiction mandates a minimum payout of say, 90%, why on Earth would a Gaming Control Board be needed if the individual Casino wants to change a specific gaming machine's payout from 94% to 96% or 97% to 93%? Server-based machines have to be idle for a period of time before they change the payout... that's not completely true... I had a machine go dark on me... I was worried about I lost all my money... I called a slot attendant... she said the machine will come back up in about 4 minutes... sure enough I didn't lose any of my money.

Our human brains try to rationalize our losses in less abstract ways. I think we feel better if we blame those losses on something other than random chance… But Marc is correct… there is no logical, mathematical, or monetary reason for casinos to change the payback percentage on slot machines. Even at say a 96% payback rate, 4% of the astronomical amount of money put into the slot machines goes directly to the casino. The casinos do just fine keeping their payback percentages constant.

Generally speaking, in free games style bonus rounds, no, the end result of the free spins isn't predetermined. But, it's worth noting that a lot of games have a different set of "virtual reel stops" during the free games, which basically means you might get different things showing up on the reels (stacked symbols, multipliers, etc.). An example of a predetermined bonus would be Dancing Drums where you pick 3 to get the progressive.

Adjustments in the hold percentage can only be done with the State Gaming Departments approval. Years ago, I had an uncle who was winning on a slot machine at a casino in Reno, Nevada. He discovered if you played the same machine for a set number of spins it would pay a hand pay. Several times he would go to that machine when going to that casino, and play the same machine. Winning a hand pay each time. Then he told his neighbor and drew a map of where the machine was in the casino. When his neighbor went to the casino she couldn't find the machine. When she told him she couldn't find it, he went back to Reno to that casino, and couldn't find it. He then told us the casino probably removed the machine after looking at their handpay log, and saw his name written down more than once. I had a similar experience at another casino in Reno. Then the machine suddenly disappeared.

There is still an RNG involved. If the range is, for example, 9,000 to 10,000. As soon as the must pay amount is hit, the RNG will randomly pick a number within that range. Let's say, 9,457. As soon as the meter climbs to 9,457, the progressive is awarded, then it restarts and does the same thing again. It's not weighted, it's a random pick. This number is not known or available to anyone.

Most online casinos are set up offshore and are unregulated. You absolutely should be worried about them. The only ones that aren't are the familiar names (Caesars, MGM, etc.). They only operate online in states where online gambling is legal and they follow state regulations to operate there.
