Happy September. Watching your videos always makes me nostalgic. My family spent several years in Japan when I was a child (we lived on Okinawa) and I love the culture, the food, the calmness and order that the Japanese lifestyle brings. Harmony is a gift and I am so happy to see you finding that now Lou ❤ Cheers to a beautiful fall season!

Another tip, Lou. If you can, keep the washer door a little open. It airs it out inside and keeps it dry so there's less moldy smell.

Just came to say the same thing. I got rid of my front loader because I was battling the humidity in Louisiana and the smell. I now have a top loader and I can leave the top open to help combat the humidity. I dry the washer as soon as I'm done with laundry and leave the top up.

Also wipe the inside of the lid and the rubber seal around the lid after every single use. I had to do this to mine, just putting a cleaner in the washer won't take care of the problem completely. And like some one else mentioned, leave the door open

Hi from the Netherlands, Lou :) I love your videos thank you for another one! I saw that you’re mixing baking soda and vinegar for cleaning, although a lot of people do that its actually not a good mixture for cleaning, because the two cancel each other out (acid / base). The fizziness is just carbon dioxide and it doesn’t do anything for cleaning. For cleaning the bathroom, vinegar and dishwashing soap is a better mix :) then the acid removes the water residues, and the soap removes grease. Hope this helps 😊

@@LouCslife Hi from someone else from the Netherlands :) The above is correct! And since you seem to appreciate these type of tips I thought I'd share another one. Pipe cleaners usually contain rather harsh chemicals that are bad for aquatric life, and also for your pipes. Instead, you can use baking soda and vinegar. Just sprinkle baking soda in the drain, add hot water to let it run through a bit further down the pipes, and then add vinegar. The fizziness mechanically helps to clean and unblock the pipes! This works on all pipes, not only kitchen sink but also shower drain etc. If the pipes are really blocked you may need to repeat, and/or apply this method on all the sinks and drains throughout the house. Hope this helps!

@Little_Ray_Of_Sunshine Yes! I agree the fizz and bubbling helps loosen the gunk in the pipes. Hot water first, then the baking soda, then vinegar, let set fot 15 minutes, flush with hot water then cold water to help the bubbled-off gunk to solidify away from pipe walls and go tumbling down the drain! Each month doing this in bath, sinks will help your home smell nice and reduce chances of logging! You are doing great, Lou!

PS:As for the washing machine, just leave the porthole always open and the detergent drawer too. By taking in air, the washing machine not only dries on the inside as well, but neither clothes nor washing machine will stink. I have been doing this for more than 30 years, and have never had this problem 😘 Your Friend from Germany 🫶🏻🍀

Hi! I didn't know which way to send a message, but I got your snack box today! I had no idea it required signature so I had to go pick it up from the post office. However, I was excited and had a chance to share some of the apple pie kit Kats with my mail carrier (!) We have never seen anything like it before! I also used Google lens to translate the ramen cups and my husband and I kept snatching cups, claiming them before the other could! It's like we were children 😂 Your handwritten note was so so cute (and frankly getting that was the main reason I ordered!) I hung it up in my studio! I just want to say thank you again! Your video with cleaning the laundry machine sent me down a rabbit hole of researching and cleaning my own dryer. Then I reorganized my entire laundry room! All because of you! My husband says thank you 😂

I never got the hang of keeping my front loader washing machine clean. I cleaned inside that rubber gasket. I used cleaner to run through. I ALWAYS left the door cracked open when not in use, and STILL, I always had problems with the washer and eventually the clothes smelling sour. I finally gave up and went back to a top loader machine. I personally do better keeping them clean and like the way they wash the clothes. Thanks for the video! You seem much more comfortable, much more calm, happier and complete, since entering into your serious relationship with your boyfriend, and got away from the old toxic work situation you had before. The fact that you were just friends for a while before the relationship was a great thing. Take care and enjoy your life!

Hi Lou, Even though I've had a front loader for decades & try to leave the door open at least 5 inches all the time to insure constant air movement, I have unknowingly knocked the door closed a few time, which did cause that horrible moldy smell. Hopefully, your cleaning solution has already worked well on the mold by the time you see this. However, if it hasn't, I take a store bought spray bleach cleaner, put the setting on mist, & spray all over the metal drum. The mist allows the bleach to get through the holes in the drum to any mold still alive behind it. I, then, fully close the door & let the machine sit for a day or so. You can run a load of white items, as you normally would, & then check for any bad odor when done. If there is no bad smell, just leave the door open from then on. If you notice the smell coming back, mist the drum again, closing the door fully, & letting the machine sit for another day or so. It may take a couple/few times to get rid of it all, but this process works. My machine is probably over 30 years old & still running nicely. I always enjoy your peaceful demeanor & love watching you cook. I've gained a lot of confidence in cooking my own Asian style dishes at home thanks to watching how you prepare your meals.

To keep your washing machine clean, try to run a program at high temperature (90°C) from time to time with e.g. kitchen towels, dish cloths etc. using powder. Your machine will smell fresh again. Watch out with vinegar, apparently it could damage the door gasket. And yes, always leave the door open or ajar when not in use and keep the detergent tray clean.

Lou I think your kitchen faucet does pull out. there is a break on the arm that goes over the sick. there looks like something you might need to push on the end just above where the water comes out. if it didn't have a sprayer it would have 1 solid piece that comes into the sink. yours is two pieces. Lou you are so organized . I love it. you give me ideas. 🤩 Lou I bought a thingy magnet that you put on the washer and it holds the washer door open so it airs out. at first I put a towel over the door to keep it open and that didn't work. I got mine from Amazon, Lou my husband is a retired plumber, never put drain cleaner down your pipes. if you do. and you still get a clog or it ends up being a hole in the pipe from pouring chemicals down your drain. and a Plumber needs to be called to clean the lines. the chemical's your pouring down the drain will burn the Plumber! #2 it can and will burn holes in the pipes. Now days pipes are only plastic like NOT Copper any more. Just make sure no food goes down your sink drain. OH Lou the view where you we're eating is so wonderful. I don't know if I could stopping watching the view. maybe your b/f can ask for time off ahead of time. and you can call ahead and make a reservation. Thank you Lou for sharing with us.

Yes, running a regular cycle (try to do this monthly) using only vinegar will clean your front loader nicely. Vinegar is also a wonderful fabric softener in laundry. Adding vinegar to every wash not only clean the machine, it also makes your clothes soft and smelling clean and fresh. You may also consider switching to a powdered detergent. I learned recently that the ingredients in liquid detergent leaves a sticky residue that promote bacteria and mold growth, esp. in front loaders. I’ve since stopped using liquid detergent and switched to powder laundry soap and add vinegar with every wash; no more moldy smelling clothes. And no more mold/slime build up along the rubber lining in my front loader.

I always leave the washer open after using it so it can air dry and it helps prevent mold. So far we've had no issues. We wipe the dryer filter every time before we use the dryer, we got it pre-owned and the filter warpedbfrom the heat so it was loose and let a LOT of lint through, we had to pull the dryer away from the wall and get into it to get it all out. Now we have a new lint trap in it. Anyway, I was looking forward to your video after a long day at work and a gym session. Keep doing what you do ❤ PS: there's also fleece dusters for the Swiffer handles so you don't have to buy the disposable ones all the time. You can just wash them in your washer 😊 I'm buying some soon

Dear Lou C That black tube on the bottom of your washer where the filter is that you removed earlier, there is a little black knob that you pull out of that tube and you’re supposed to drain that tube. Put a bowl under there to catch the water. You will find a lot of yuckiness comes out of that little black tube at the bottom of your washer , I drain mine and clean out that filter once a month. That is a lot of your culprit of the smell.

Wow, we aren't even out of summer weather wise here in Louisiana and not to mention hurricane season still has a couple months to go, I'd hate to see holiday decorations going up already lol. As if people have extra money nowadays for holiday spending 😳

@@Yaya2214CJ yeah I know 🙁 I'm in Ohio. I wish we could get through one holiday at a time. We JUST got done with back to school and now it's Halloween and Fall/Thanksgiving decorations being put out. Christmas/trim a tree are in the back room. If I see Easter or Valentine's in the next few weeks the Ohio Valley is gonna hear me scream lol

So many different types of cleaning products and cleaning gadgets. You could have your own cleaning business because you are very thorough! Ppl would pay good money for that service. Keep up the good work in your carefree happy life! 😊😊😊

People asking where is the boyfriend and why doesn't he help....this is her channel and if she doesn't want to show him or he doesn't want to be in her videos she doesn't have to.

People don't realize that Lou said in the beginning with her boyfriend that he does not want to be on camera, and she honors that. How does anyone watching know how much he helps or not. If it's not shown. Nobody really knows. He works very long hours as well. Lou seems happy and that's all that matters.

Another tip. Line the stove tray in Aluminum foil. Makes clean up easy and ypu don't get the burned on pieces.

Never seen you wear cleaning gloves. Good for your hands. Does your bf help with cleaning and laundry or cooking? The smoothie looks delicious

Adding a bit of vinegar to each washing load for a while, and every now and then afterwards, will keep your washing machine ánd laundry fresh (and no, you don't smell the vinegar in your laundry ;))

Oh, and if your laundry smells, soak it for an hour in water with vinegar before washing it.

I got my snacks, Lou! I shared them with my whole family and we had such an enjoyable time trying all the delicious treats. Thank you so much for providing that service! You did a great job cleaning the apartment too! You inspire me to tackle some forgotten things around my house as well! by the way, don’t the tablets drive you crazy until they finally dissolve? I know mine do!

Be very careful with the cleaning pucks for your washer. I find they can bleach clothes. I usually set my machine for a quick hot rinse to be sure all the residue is gone before putting clothes in. Also with cleaning anything less is more.
