I have a tiny concern that I cannot seem to understand, every time I practice deep breathing or sitting in padmasana with spine erect I feel discomfort- more so pain and tightness in my chest. Why?

You should do it for a few days straight to get the maximum benefit.... You should definitely include pranayam and warm up exercise in your daily routine.... Other you could add in between your schedule

Consistency is key! The goal is for the asanas and pranayama to become muscle memory. So I would suggest starting with 2 rounds of Sun Salutation A, any standing or seated asanas your heart desires, savasana, and pranayama. Do that consistently… it’s called a practice for a reason!

Find a comfortable position to sit ... You can support your back or you can also support your knees
