Big difference is no evidence except by God himself can be enough for anyone to give their lives to God truly. All the disciples that saw Jesus was God and do miracles denied him on the cross. It was only after Pentacost with the Holy Spirit who promises to reveal and make real Jesus they then would rather give their lives than deny Jesus and did. Because the Holy Spirit makes Jesus more real than if he stood infront of us in the flesh and raise the dead. Following Jesus is not about blind faith it's a active relationship. Islam is blind faith. Christianity has the only evidence that could ever be enough. Islam has blind faith.

The quran has been tweaked and rewritten ad infinitum: the current quran has existed in its current for only 100 years. It’s also had entire chapters go forever missing when they were simply forgotten, when the sole memorizers of entire chapters were killed in internecine warfare, or from being eaten by tame livestock. Quran was established after 600 CE.. so the scriptures the Quran claims to be corrupted would be the scriptures handed down to the time period of 600 CE… EXCEPT… in 1947 the Dead Sea scrolls are found and they are dated back to 800 years prior to the Quran. And the difference between the scripture found in the Dead Sea Scrolls to the Scripture the Quran would be referencing are nearly identical in all areas of significance. So if the scripture was corrupted why wasn’t the corruption shown between when the Dead Sea scrolls were written and the Quran. Additionally there is a place where Muhammad talks the Israelites to use their own Torah to judge their own people. If it’s corrupted why would they use it to judge themselves?

Same story, different salesman. I take the Bible for what it claims to be, The Word of God. The witness of those who recorded the actions and word of Jesus and the Apostles is compelling: people don't die for something they know to be a lie. The fact that there are multiple witnesses who often challenged one another points to credibility of the core messages of Christianity. By contrast, Muslims die for a book that one man claimed was true, but he never allowed anyone else to question him and there were no other witnesses. One man's dream / nightmare has confused and mislead so many!

We read it, we quote it, we have sunday school lessons on it etc... But to think that there are no errors in the Bible after so many transcriptions, translations, and versions is intellectual foolery. Which translation is ACTUALLY the infallible word of God? Cause I see many many translations of the same verses, and word choice matters! and they are different. the implications of the different meanings of different words matter! As for your dismissive attack on the Book of Mormon....be careful. You shouldn't limit God. Who were the other sheep Jesus spoke of? Did Jesus Lie when he said he would visit them? Would not those people make records of his visit? Where does it say in the Bible that God would stop talking to His children? We know about and have copies of at least 26 different versions of the Qu’ran. He failed in his quest to burn all the variants after choosing which Qu’ran was the “perfect word of Allah.” Muslim scholars know this. This is nothing new to them. They do not speak about it to lay Muslims, ie, ordinary Muslims who have no education on that subject because they believe it would lead many of them to question the authenticity of the Qu’ran and hurt their faith in it and their apologists and Imams. There’s even a KZbin video of a Muslim scholars telling a Muslim apologist not to tell lay Muslims about this issue. Muhammad could neither read nor write, he dictated the verses orally and instructed early followers of his to mark down the revelation on whatever materials were available: tree branches, stones, leather, and bones. Hundreds of his followers had their own versions that they had memorized from what they had written down and heard from each other. Most of these were destroyed during the purification process along with the couple dozen versions from his closest advisers, friends, and those who took up the mantle of being the next leader, when the “perfect Qu’ran” was chosen.” It can be very dangerous to talk about this subject depending on where in the world you live or to what audience you are talking to. There are some very dangerous areas in the U.S. but besides the obvious places like the Middle East, parts of Asia, and Africa, Europe and the U.K. is dangerous as well. Much more dangerous than the U.S. There are “no go” zones for police in the UK, Germany, France, and Scandinavia where Muslims have taken over and created “little Mecca’s” and it gets violent fast if you try to police Muslims in those areas, let alone try to tell the truth about the Qu’ran or preach the gospel there.

There aren’t 26 versions of the Quran. There is 7 different recitations of the Quran which are slightly different ways of pronouncing certain words in different regional versions of Arabic, there is nothing lost in translation. Anything else is invalid and has no true standing in the Islamic world.

There own Islamic sources say Uthman burned the Quran. Sahih Bukhari 4987 (Islams most reputable scholar) "Uthman sent to every providence one copy of what they had copied and ordered that all other manuscripts written in fragments or whole copies be BURNED" This is not from a Christian source but from the hadith which is what instructed Muslims to pray 5 times per day. The Quran does not tell Muslims to pray 5 times, the hadith does. Keep in mind these students arent taught all of what islam teaches but rather their teachers cherry pick what to show them.

Quran 4:103 "Surely the Salah at fixed hours (of the day and night) has been enjoined upon the believers". The Quran tells you there are fixed times to pray. At the time of Prophet Muhammad he would have told them exactly how and when to pray. The Hadith shows you exactly how and when to pray long after Muhammad. Because it is not explained how to do it exactly in the Quran. But everything you say in the Salah(prayer) is in the Quran.

So too was the blood of Jesus from the Father not Mary for the bible says his blood is perfect and Mary called Jesus her savior meaning her flesh was corrupt and would have polluted the blood of Jesus. So the blood of Jesus came also by the breath of the Spirit like Adam which is why Jesus is called the second Adam. Jesus came from Mary but not OF Mary he was of the Spirit who put the seed in Mary.

An easier way of grasping the differences in the translations, is that each translator (even the different authors) understand and use language differently. One Greek translator could be a native speaker in one city-state speaking a particular dialect with one diction, while another could be from some other city-state with different diction, colloquialisms and dialect. Even a learned slave or other foreigners who speak Greek would represent the translation a little differently. Don't forget also, that Latin was spoken by the Romans of the times, so it wouldn't be a stretch that the Latin influence was there as well. Long story short: The words can change, but the ideas remain eternal and uncorrupted.

There is a major logical fallacy going on within the first like 4 minutes along the lines of perspective bias: He simultaneously says that the Quran is divinely inspired using Muhammed as its messenger, and then IMMEDIATELY claims the Bible was "written by men." Bro, they were BOTH written by men if you look strictly at the facts. The question becomes whether or not you believe that those writings were divinely inspired or not. Also, I find it HILARIOUS he talks about God being bloodthirsty but worships Allah. The Quran has MULTIPLE passages calling for the execution, persecution, enslavement, grape, and suffering of all non-Muslims, going so far as to imply the very earth itself would assist them in finding and killing them. As a Christian there are some questions we might have about, primarily, Old Testament God's choices, but if the Quran is truly divinely inspired than Allah is one of the most bloodthirsty gods I've heard of.

It's not in the original language. The Arabic was different and not many know it today (most Muslims don't even know the current one), and vowels and dots were added which weren't part of the original text. Which greatly affected the meaning with the new use of recitations. Where verses can now have many meanings. One verse can both talk about their prophet and god, they can't be both right, meaning some Qurans have been corrupted with new meaning. The 37 Qurans from 1924 which Muslims use today can't also agree whether they should have 114, 115 or 116 Surahs, therefore some have more/less words added than others. Uthman had to burn so many as memorization proved ineffective. The claim that it was preserved word for word and has the original language is baloney. Edit: I know your comment is not in support of it, i just wanted to raise my point.

The Qur'an was originally just a "revelation" to Muhammad. Then he told his friends & they wrote it for him in several media such as animal skins, papyrus, leaves, etc. That's what I know from Islamic history, but some Muslims often lied that the "revelations" came down in a form of writings. What makes written truth less than spoken truth? Nothing. It all comes down to witness accounts. The Qur'an had no witnesses but Muhammad himself. Meanwhile, The Gospel & the whole Bible was written by people who can read & write with multiple witnesses who spoke different languages.

Bingo. He may have been brought up in a Christian house, gone to church, sang the songs, attended Sunday school.... may have even been baptized and/or confirmed. But once the Word of God brings you from death to life, as the Scriptures say, you HAVE PASSED from death to life, and the Holy Spirit is given to us as a guarantee. So whenever someone says, "I was a Christian..." I usually stop them right there. No, you thought you were a Christian. Outwardly, you had the appearance, but inwardly, you were never brought from death to life. Now the good news is someone could still be truly converted and brought to life later, so we must never give up and write a person off. And some genuinely converted people suffer doubts and troubles that drive them far away for a time, but the spark of life and faith will remain and God can restore even the most wretched of sinners. I know... because he has restored me many times. It's the parable of the Prodigal Son all over. The son is always a son. God the Father restores him, forgiving even when he is far off. Running to meet him and dress him with clothes of righteousness and to prepare a feast, for the lost is found!

It’s not a question of believing, it’s a question of do you have the Holy Spirit? In Acts, Paul baptized two people who were baptized in water with the Holy Spirit. I was an atheist and now I walk with Christ. God is real. His Holy Spirit is real. You put your faith in him at first, but once you receive the Spirit, you receive the relationship with Jesus. It’s more real than anything else you can experience.

Ask her if she loves you or her parents. Then ask her to prove it. Tell her science has proven the existence of God. If any of the great philosophers from history had known what we have learned in these most recent 50 years, they would have concluded the same: The Big Bang proves the universe had a beginning, where ancient skeptics proposed the universe had always existed. Physics and quantum properties show phenomenon like entanglement and electrons within all matter. The Trinity of electron, neutron and proton is an analogy of balance and the Laws of Nature are designed so perfectly that life would not exist without them, and all design suggests a designer, all laws suggest a lawgiver, as all creations suggest a creator. We are the only life in the universe, so far as science can tell, when math concluded that 1/infinity = infinity and there should be an infinite amount of life in the universe, yet the universe seems to exist for our purposes only, for some reason we are meant to ponder. As her what she thinks of crime and morality and whether she feels intrinsically that there is good or evil in actions and why she feels that way if there is no such thing as good or evil? As her whether choice matters or if there is free will if she feels restricted in doing evil and why? Ask her whether love is possible without free will and choice or whether you can demand someone love you or whether love is more valuable if your partner chooses to love you and whether God might want us to freely choose to love for those same reasons? Ask her to question instead of declaring knowledge of something she is ignorant. Has she even read The Book or is she judging it by the cover and does she do that with any other book? If you question her thoughts, you will expose the ignorance, but let love guide you - she is probably unhappy with something else in her life and is venting, so perhaps asking her what she is really mad about is the best way you can help her.

Firstly, pray, pray, pray. Deepen your connection with God even more. Maybe she'll only have to see your relationship with God as an example to get through to her. Then for yourself: I'd suggest reading Matthew 18:15-20 and 2 Cor 12:1-10. I can't think of any verses that would fit the situation exactly right (and get through to her), but Romans 5:8 and John 3:16 are very good go-to verses. I have difficulty believing that people even in that time would kill someone just because someone says he is God. Most likely they would consider him a lunatic and let it be at that or put him in prison for being a nuisance or in an asylum (if there were such things in those times). I have a relative who is Muslim and I find it very hard to engage in conversation with her. Because she doesn’t seem to ever want to listen when I give an explanation she immediately just shuts it down or says I’m wrong. And the more I listen to muslims defend their faith I have notice they all seem to have that approach. They are combative, dismissive and sometimes disrespectful. Even the second young man who didn’t believe Cliff on the history of the changing of the Quran just shows they really aren’t willing to listen.

I think the Muslim raises a really interesting point at the beginning, and it is a common misconception among both Muslims and atheists. The idea that you can "follow Jesus' teachings" (ie love thy neighbour, turn the other cheek etc) and should therefore be allowed into Heaven is fundamentally a belief that salvation is achieved through works; something every mainstream Christian denomination rejects. It is not enough to "follow Jesus' example" because we, as fallen creatures, will always fall short of the perfection needed for perfect unity with God. It is only through accepting God's forgiveness, freely offered through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, that we can be washed clean of our sinful nature.

I agree with Ehrman Misquoting Jesus in the appendix mentioned near the end of the video. Ehrman clarifies "Bruce Metzger is one of the great scholars of modern times, and I dedicated the book to him because he was both my inspiration for going into textual criticism and the person who trained me in the field. And even though we may disagree on important religious questions-he is a firmly committed Christian and I am not-we are in complete agreement on a number of very important historical and textual questions. If he and I were put in a room and asked to hammer out a consensus statement on what we think the original text of the New Testament probably looked like, there would be very few points of disagreement-maybe one or two dozen places out of many thousands. The position I argue for in Misquoting Jesus does not actually stand at odds with Prof. Metzger's position that the essential Christian beliefs are not affected by textual variants in the manuscript tradition of the New Testament. What he means by that (I think) is that even if one or two passages that are used to argue for a belief have different textual reading, there are still other passages that could be used to argue for the same belief. For the most part, I think that's true. But I was looking at the question from a different angle. My question is not about traditional Christian beliefs, but about how to interpret passages of the Bible. And my point is that if you change what the words say, then you change what the passage means. Most textual variants (Prof. Metzger and I agree on this) have no bearing at all on what a passage means."
