This is a video covering my Top 3 cheap composite pedal recommendations. All of these pedals come in right at the $50 range and in no way compromise on performance.
My Favorite Bike Shop - The Lost Co. (10% off with code MTBDAILY)

The pedals are as follows:
Race Face Chester -------------- amzn.to/2AYU6JS
Kona Wah Wah II ----------------- goo.gl/7M9cq2
One Up Composite -------------- amzn.to/2AyWsPe
Think there's a pedal that should be in this video that I missed? Let me know in the comments below!

With the OneUp pedals and convex design, you should adopt a true mid-foot position and it'll be great. Your arch fits right over the tallest point in the middle. This gives a super grippy/confident feeling. Convex pedals are better if you put the ball of your foot over the spindle.

Picked up a pair of Wah Wah 2 recently when I found/bought a Kona Big Honzo. I knew zero about them. They looked cool and bike came without pedals. My goal was to have pedals until I got new SPD installed. I don’t think I’m going back to SPD. My size 44 feet love the Wah Wah 2. Luckily my bike shoes can ‘convert’ back to no SPD cleat. I like the ‘room’ as I have some play on foot placement. They GRIP my shoes. For the riding I’ll be doing I think they will be all I need. VERY happy with them.

I have and LOVE the wah wah 2. One huge feature you didn't mention is the angular profile actually helps deflect if you have a pedal strike. I had a square flate pendals and if I struck them they would dig in or catch, and over the bars I went. Wah wah's deflect off and you keep going. Chester looks similar but maybe less of and angular profile.

Put black Kona wah wahs on my 2021 flat nautical navy Trek Marlin 7....absolutely a match made in heaven! Both for look and feel! Wife loves the same (lime green) wah wahs on her GT aggressor pro (lime green and blue bike). I'm size 12 and she's a 9. Large for both of us! Beauty!

This video really tied well with your Flats to Clipless video for me. As someone who just switched from clipless to flats this really does a great job covering the major points (cost, weight, reliability and functionality). After a ton of research I went with the Chesters and ponied up for a new pair of 5-Ten Freeriders. That combo seems to me to work so well that I sometimes will finish a ride and forget that I'm not actually clipped in.

I have one up's. I wear size 14 us shoe size and they fit me well. On the kona I wouldn't like that little round rise where they are into cranks. When your feet are that long they are generally wider also, so when I place foot on pedal I usually shove them against crank arm to center my foot on pedal. I am subscribed, love vids, keep up good work!

I've had great luck with Shimano Saint platforms. Been running the same pair for almost 1000 miles of trail riding. I ride Pa and Ny so that's a lot of rock strikes. They're right around 50 bucks. Aluminum construction with replaceable pins.

I've used both the One Up and the Race Face. I have a shoe size of 8 1/2 and the Chester fit the best. I could get comfortable on the One Up pedals but the platform was too big. In terms of looks I think the One Up is the best looking out of all of them.

Because I've bought RaceFace Affect (aluminium) and start to feel pain at my my knees and ankles. My bike is hardtail. So I decided to buy something made with nylon. What can you advise to choose? By the way, Affect has not enough wide for me and I have to put my feet directly only at one position or I'll touch the crankset.

Daily MTB Rider Just curiosity mostly. You have two fairly expensive bikes, the Tokul which is a $1,000 with an upgraded fork by the looks of it. Also you have the other bike which I forget what the name of it is but I could only imagine the price. Assuming you are able to afford both of those bikes and the upgrades I was guessing some type of engineering, or software field of work?

Nice guess! But both not my jobs. I did almost go into engineering, but opted to head in a field with a lot less money. At the end of the day, it's not how much you make but what you do with what you make. I've slowly upgraded my bikes, make money on the side, and just save well - hence two very nice bikes.

As far as job goes... I keep that top secret. It's more fun to keep people guessing - but I will tell anyone who ventures to go on a ride with me! So if you're ever in Washington State, hit me up!
