Thank you. I was dairy free for years but in June I started keto and so many recipes called for dairy, all of a sudden with wild abandon I was eating dairy. Working towards walking that back. I was making my shopping list as you spoke. I especially appreciated the chicken recipe. I tried the chicken and rice recipe tonight. Delicious and simple. Thanks.

That's wonderful of you to do this cool and informative video. I'm not dairy free but some days i would like to be dairy free. Can you use the flax meal and water as egg substitute for most cake recipes? That be great for times we run out eggs. I'm sure it took you a while to come up with the recipes, trial and error, and time away from your family. I'm thankful for your videos, I'm still new and still figuring out what I can and can't eat. It contains a very trace amounts of lactose so most people still consume it id they are lactose Intolerant. You can use coconut oil as a substitute if you choose.

I had the same question. It seemed like the icing at the end totally forgot this was supposed to be a dairy-free keto recipe. With a dairy allergy, I can’t eat butter so that addition to a recipe you’re calling dairy-free seemed very odd.

@@AngelArsenic Like I said above, you can substitute with coconut oil if you have a dairy allergy. 😃 It works the same.

Just a FYI a lot of people with dairy free needs are intolerant to all dairy not just lactose or even protein, I appreciate your efforts and was not trying to come off obtuse, it was just incase you didnt know.

Butter is not Dairy free. Even though it contains a small amount of lactose it still is milk from a mammal which makes it a dairy product. Just to clarify for those who are new to a dairy free lifestyle and confused about the icing on the coffee cake. It’s not dairy free.

You can use coconut oil, ghee or dairy free butter. If you are lactose intolerant, there is a very, very small amount of lactose in butter so many can still consume butter with no issues. Up to you with what you’re body can tolerate and what causes inflammation. Butter does not cause inflammation for most.

Dairy = products made from animal milk i.e. from a cow, goat, buffalo, sheep, etc. Eggs are generally kept in the dairy section of a supermarket because in Canada and the United States they are legally-required to be refrigerated (this is because these countries require them to be washed before they go to market. The washing removes the outer protective layer of the shell along with any debris).

Ok, are my measuring spoons and cups like off or something? Like the tablespoon of flax seed powder stuff looks like 3 tbs! I notice this a LOT I videos. I’ve been measuring my food for over a year and I’m like yo… like omg that 2 tbs of coconut flour looks like 1/4 cup! What is going on?! Lol

You can use coconut oil or ghee or non dairy butter. There are trace amounts of lactose in butter so the majority of people tolerate it just fine without causing inflammation.

I love dairy. I don't think I can give up dairy even on keto. I know I should stop drinking cow milk, but almond milk or macadamia milk doesn't taste as good as cow's milk.

You can substitute with ghee, coconut oil, or dairy free butter. Keep in mind that butter contains very trace amounts of lactose and most can tolerate it. It doesn’t cause inflammation in the majority of people.

Butter is still dairy though. This isn’t about the lactose content, it’s about the dairy itself. Ghee is also dairy, just to clarify.

@@AngelArsenic Thanks for clarifying the technicalities. Most of those on the keto diet who dabble or consume dairy free do so for inflammation and to break through a plateau. They are fine with butter and ghee. But if you have a true allergy to lactose or dairy, then use coconut oil.
