I don’t think the issue with Poe was his “hot headedness”. It’s that he was right at the beginning, but the characters and movie kept saying he was wrong, and ultimately learned to make the wrong decisions

11:58 Yes, thank you Naboo. You can't just make one movie in a trilogy that's heavy on nostalgia, very "safe" even and heavily similar to a original beloved Film in a hugely popular franchise; then do a complete heavy un-turn and make your next follow up sequel, the complete opposite, where it's heavily subversive and expect that very same audience and Fans to just be completely onboard with what you've done. That's going to upset alot of people, and what really did not help was the way inwhich Disney treated us fans who had issues with that movie afterward. They made it into this whole thing of if you criticize this then you're a bigot, ist/phobe. Infact Disney completely dismissed Fan criticism of TLJ at first, it's like they just didn't want to believe or pay attention to how many of us out there had issues with the movie. They caused all of this now, Disney and KK have turned starwars into this purely Identity Politics thing. Disney deliberately used the mainstream media to twist Fan's criticisms and paint us as sexist, having some problem with Rey cause of sexism, and a problem with women being in starwars in general; and that was never the case. It's all just gone upside down now and Disney don't seem to have many places to go now, it's all gotten stale and fans are losing interest. I get tired even going over this but its true, just don't attack fans, take constructive criticism onboard Disney, and stop making everything about Race/Gender and Identity, in your shows movies, but I also mean making that a huge thing regards us Fans and audiences that don't like how you handle these IPs.

I know the paycheck would be hard to refuse and she probably had fun making the Star Wars movies she made, but I really wish she said no to coming back. The sequel trilogy era needs to die for the fandom to heal and move on. I didn’t think that last comment was that bad. As long as she wasn’t saying most men or most Star Wars fans, hate women, then sure. Fine. She probably just gave a safe answer to move on in the interview. It does ignore the issue of why many fans had problems with the character of Rey. And I think most of those issues have to do with the writing, not the Daisy Ridley herself. If anyone needs to acknowledge the real problem, it needs to be Lucasfilm. I get that actors don’t want to burn bridges and lose potential job offers. The company needs to apologize for encouraging this behavior of blaming the majority of fans for the bad actions of a few, and making terrible excuses like sexism and racism for the underperformance of their projects. At the very least, stop that behavior from here on out.
@RaikenXionАй бұрын
that's exactly what Disney and Lucasfilm need to do but sadly I can't see that happening anytime soon. It's just all tiresome now, they've like burned so many bridges with fans now Disney and KK; it never needed to be like this. Ofcourse there are sexists and racists out there, but Fans are not like that, it just feels like too much damage has been done now to the Fandom and to the brand.

I mean her getting around the trooper yea sure, it's supposed to be an advanced technique, but as Naboo said, a good reason could follow.. But no they just went all out Mary... Whenever Rey is brought up this is inevitable... When I trash the Sequels, it is always the Squandered EU I look towards vs the lackluster sequel galaxy's future: because "Ben solo" exists, we the fans have lost out on Jacen, Jaina, Anakin, and their babysitter Winter, we also lost out on Ben Skywalker and the Ross/Rachel dynamic of Luke and Mara Jade. All of these rich, full characters, many of them strong females, cut from Canon for a whiny pseudo-vader hung up on the one time his father was mean to him before he burned down his entire Hacienda with all Luke's friends and other students.

I'm so desperate for Star Wars to be good again, I'd even accept a Rey movie as long as they do it well. Not that I'm necessarily expecting it to be, but I'm just saying.
@RaikenXionАй бұрын
With me deep down I am also desperate for *Star Wars* to be good, AWESOME and Amazing again! I yearn to Escape into the Galaxy Far, Far Away, to be taken to awesome, cool amazing weird alien worlds, with all kinds of cool creatures, and just have really fun stories that can take me out of myself, because my "Reality" that I live in, in my life today sucks! But all that said, I just don't trust Lucasfilm under Kathleen Kennedy, she's the big, massive white elephant in the room for me, who just keeps interfering and influencing most projects, and she sabotages and ruins them. BOBF, Kenobi and Mando Season 3 are prime examples. I'm not interesting in people working entirely under her influence, doing her bidding and things entirely HER way! Like Filoni and Mangold. Those individuals I just see as heavily co-opted by Kennedy and I simply don't trust them. Honestly I don't see where exactly they can go with the Rey character, well I can see one way, to make her Flawed, make her a tragic character, inspired by the likes of "Tetsuo" from the Anime/Manga classic - *Akira* where she falls to the darkside, her power and unique ability through the Dyad of the force, ends up being too much for her and it sadly consumes her; to where she becomes so powerful, she cannot control her own power, regarding her Bloodline being a Palpatine consumed by the darkside, and it needs others, possibly her own students and a Force Sensitive Finn to ultimately defeat Rey. So I'm thinking a kind of "Dark Phoenix" and Tetsuo consumed by the power of Akira sort of situation. That's honestly the Only idea that makes sense for Rey imo at this point, because the way she was written and handled in the Sequels, she does EVERYTHING, "Downloads" like all of Kylo's training and force ability, in TROS novel, it even says something about when Rey force-healed Ben's wounds, she also healed his mind helping bring him back to the light; i mean the story group and people at Lucasfilm, handling the overall writing of Rey, it's just devolving into silly Fan Fiction at this point and I just can't take it seriously; AND Disney wanted this character to lead the entire franchise, that was their original plan coming off of the sequels. So when you have a character written as perfect and OP as that, where else can you honestly take them to make their continuing story feel satisfying?? What else can you do with a character like that? But I know KK and Disney would NEVER go for such a idea, mainly because of all this "Intersectional Feminism" that Hollywood is infected with today, where they see it as in order to Empower Women and Female characters, they have to basically be antagonistic "Girl Bosses" that are Perfect in every way and can Never do any wrong, and simply have no "Flaws". That's not right, it's a fallacy but that's how Hollywood are trying to push things, and they simply won't wake up to the Realization that, that's simply NOT *Realistic*.

No way that’s a mistranslation. It’s a misunderstanding from Disney, probably perpetuated by her reps and stuff, so that’s what she believes. Instead of a toxic masculine culture, she’s in a toxic feminine culture, and can’t escape the stupid beliefs she’s basically being brainwashed with. I kind of want to make another comparison… but I don’t necessarily want to piss off like 80% of the population… so let’s just say there’s a lot of stuff we believe that we only stop believing when we get exposed to other beliefs from other cultures and stuff. We need our beliefs challenged, or we’ll never escape the stupid ones. This can apply to anything from bad political takes to religious cult stuff, to the toxic “alpha male” bs… anything. I have a different take on 'actors' vs. 'characters'. I was exposed to Hollyweird, and by extension 'actors' about a decade ago while producing an independent film. I completely lost the ability to feel starstruck, as 95% of actors are complete flakes/idiots off screen, and they prove this over and over in interviews. They have a job to do which is just one component of the final product. So when an actor says dumb crap, I shrug and either ignore it or laugh at it. (Andor's cast interviews is a good example of dumb stuff being said that had zero to do with the final product.) The ONLY thing I care about is if that final product is good or garbage. The sequel trilogy was crap x 10 unfortunately, so hearing all of this 'bring Rey back!' stuff falls into my 'laugh and move on' bucket.
