Larry was son of a Hollywood & broadway actress. Unfortunately, Hagman lived his life very much like J.R. according to his daughter's book. He & his wife of 55 years were Hollywood swingers. He also has stated his lifestyle publicly over the years which confirms her book and he has stated his LSD, Pot & alcohol use. He has said all politicians should take LSD. His daughter was raped at age 8 by his drunken friends and by 15 she had to lock herself in her room when Larry & wife had dinner parties a few times a week. He had a liver transplant and still drank after. Sounds like a chaotic life.

Back when J.R. died in the 2012 revival, I wrote a 'Daria' fanfic where one of the characters was going to his funeral. At the end, he talked about one of the tributes written about the man, and it ended with these words: "J.R. Ewing. Like Harvard, diamonds, James Bond and science - there is no substitute."

@@daveb.4460 Larry confirmed alot of what she wrote...he also was a frequent user of LSD, pot & alcohol as he has mentioned in public. Sad, chaotic life. His mother was a famous actress. His father was a Texas attorney. Something must have happened to him in Hollyweird for him to be drunk or drugged up daily.

Well in JR's case lol Cliff Barnes pretty much self imploded with everything he did and most of the time it was on his own. JR might give him a little push once in a while but thing is (and this is just IMHO) Cliff deserved it because instead of Cliff just letting go and moving on with his life, Cliff remained bitter and always trying to get revenge on JR which just brought about his self-destruction.

that darn JR!!! he makes me so mad!!! He is so under-handed, so inconsiderate. Instead of being a good role model to this young man who only wants to succeed in life so that he can be financially sound, instead of being a good role model, he convinces the young man that he has to be dishonest to succeed. I wish this young man was having dinner with Bobby or Ray instead, so that he can learn from men that have good character....men who are faithful to their wives and honest in their business dealings. JR makes me SO ANGRY!!!! Someone ought to kick JR between the legs so that he can get what's coming to him. I can't stand the mischievous grin he always has.
