this is very true some dealers are 100% in on it and not even the places that look shady it can be a big name brand dealer and they can do this. I worked with a guy who told me a big dealership used to pay him between 5-7k to go steal cars either from customers who already purchased or from current inventory on one of their many lots for the insurance money. I was shocked when i found this out but the more stories i heard of this the more i realized how true it is. hot ticket cars like hellcats, vettes, camaros, etc aren't even safe from the dealer they got it from and thats crazy to think about!

Ive heard that if you bring your car in for service with registration info in the glovebox it can be used for them to have an address where they can then send car thieves to get the car. They could also have license plate decoding software that will show your address, but that should be reserved to police and DMVs. Alot of these people are connected to towing companies as well, and locksmiths. the programmers they use to steal cars are android tablet key programmers like the Autel Km100 or IM508 originally made for locksmiths but can be purchased online by anyone for 500 bucks. the best thing to do is if you have a car that can be taken using a programmer, make sure to create some spare keys then lock your PCM so their are no key codes. every car has a certain number of used and unused key fob codes. if you make sure there are no unused ones it should make it much harder.

Easiest way to keep your car is to go online and order a $20.00 12V 20/30amp remote control operated relay. Have a professional or a highly skilled friend wire it into the electric fuel pump. I am not saying to buy an alarm system. Ignition cutoff is not the same as wiring the fuel pump to be under the control of a remote cut-off. The wiring should not be done at the fuse box either. It needs to be done at or near the fuel pump itself. A broken window with a busted ignition is better than the car gone. Ignore punctuation errors… hasty comment.🤦🏽♂️

They are proud of getting to you within an hour on a video chat, but yet it takes 14 hours to make a report in person. The only time that is saved, is the travel time of the officer. The report taking time is the same. No officer works more than 15 miles from their patrol zone, so why the heck does it take the extra 13 hours to do the job in person? - They are doing these type of reports for insurance claims only. There is no desire to stop the criminals, or do real police work and try to see if there is video available from the victim or the surrounding houses, etc.
