He's right about all of it. Police are useless in recovering stolen property. I've had two experiences with stolen vehicles in Fort Worth, the first was 41 years ago. The police couldn't be bothered. They told us to go look for it, when we found it, we called them, they told us to just drive it away. Good luck with that, the thief had the only keys. The second case they claimed was a "civil" matter because the thief was also a company employee. So they couldn't be bothered. Wouldn't even file a report despite phone calls and visits. Why, if you didn't know better, you'd almost think police have a symbiotic relationship with criminals.

I called them to let them know i found it out so they wouldnt pull me over thinking i stole it and they started questioning me as if i had something to do with it, made no sense why they were questioning me the way they were, so i told them you all can leave while i wait on the tow truck.

PSA: For those of you that don’t know, law enforcement in most major cities do NOT search for stolen cars. They merely stumble across them when their license plate readers signal them a car is reported stolen. This applies to when cars are in motion in traffic and when the cars parked (most departments have Plate readers installed/affixed to patrol cars. LPRs are sometimes hidden in patrol car front bumper grill. Some are attached to the rear trunk). Don’t ask how I’ve learned this 😂.

you make it sound like you believe them when they say the purpose of LPS is to identify stolen cars. That is last on the list. The primary purpose of using LPS is to check for expired registrations. The secondary = or may be even the primary - is to track a car without having to have an active pursuit going on. Everybody is being surveyed all the time, so when an Amber alert goes out, the first step is to sift thru the LPS data base. Third, LPS data is not protected by privacy laws. Agencies sell that data to private companies that have an interest in finding you, i.e. repo companies looking for your vehicle that you may be using after you moved from your last known address.. It's a Brave New World. Embrace it, you don't really have a choice.

They don't ever really actively look for the cars. They just file reports when they're made. And do the real pursuing when something comes along that gives them a definite hard lead. Like those 1000 cases. If something happens in Burleson that the Burleson police make an arrest, like arresting somebody in possession of a stolen car, then Dallas will just add their cases info to the Burleson case. Those Dallas cops were never intending to track anything down in Burleson. They would only actively do something if the majority of those 1000 cases pointed to a common location in Dallas.

PS: Saying that your insurance will cover it is such an insulting claim by these two newsreaders. Why do you think that comprehensive rates are so high in Dallas? Cops stopped being public servants many years ago. They are basically a new gang idc what anyone says. Law abiding citizens who pay their taxes should never have to "pray" they get the right officer on the right day just for them to simply do their job. It seems like they are behaving as if they are doing us a favor. As many times as I used to get pulled over in my 2 old hellcat challengers for "potentially" stolen vehicles. I learned they just profiled hellcats and the stolen reports were years old that they claimed were the reason for their stops. They say why not let insurance cover the car theft??? They clearly have no idea how tight insurance companies are with how bad the thefts have gotten for popular sports cars. This shows how the major disconnect from honest news can be in the guise of protecting incompetent LEO behaviors.

I would say those cops need to get a clue. But apparently even if you give them one they dont know what to do with it. 😂😂

Mad respect to him. I recently had something similar happen to me and had to track down one of my cars engines. Cops didn’t wanna do anything. Only person you can count on is yourself.

Why take the risk, because it’s probably his only car and insurance is bs. Even if insurance covered it they’d raise his rates I bet

4:00 Right. Police recommend you should not do their job for them. Just let the thieves keep what you worked for...

The thieves are likely to be armed and dangerous and could lead to the police having to give someone the bad news they wouldn't want to hear.

While they were ignoring this victim and the crime, 857 traffic tickets were written because those are money makers that require minimal effort from the cops. 857 is my made up number.

This advice is one of the problems with the country. The police and left want everyone to just be a willing victim that participates in the crime by doing nothing. When American men stopped going into the street to confront the problems, the wolf packs started to grow and increase their feedings. This trend started in the 90's and has grown to epidemic proportions. Now when a guy hears a problem on their street, they are too busy peeping out the blinds to fight for what is right and what is righteous. Good on this chap - he took a stand and refused to continue to be a victim, and he did it without bloodshed, though I am sure he was prepared for whatever resistance that may have been given. Politicians want us to be victims because it increases their power and their budgets. (60% of all crime is performed by the same 80% of criminals. The catch and release system of the judges and DA's only fortify their roles in government.) Choose not to be a victim if you are an able-bodied man.

Sounds like the MAYOR of Dallas needs a phone call to adjust the police department, sounds to me like a lazy a** police department. They darn sure dont have a good police chief for letting this happen. Always remember what my dad always told me, if you dont get satisfaction with a supervisor, they always answer to someone else. True story. Glad you got your car back brother. God Bless, stay safe.

In a bad economy, a job as a cop could be something that entices people to apply. The famous quote, "that's why it takes 2 years to get a cosmetology license, but you can make the through the police academy in 6 months...". It doesn't take long to become a cop. And the salary can be pretty good. But cops and their refusal to police themselves turns off people from ever considering becoming cops.

Why you may ask? Because when the government fails to protect the people then the people have a right to protect themselves and each other. The very principle of the government is to protect the people and ensure basic rights and safety. The real question to ask is why have a government and why have a police force in Dallas if they're not going to serve the people?
