If you ever view the movie "Papillon" starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman, you'll see Smithers in a supporting role as a prison camp commandant, being very sadistic in that role. No one could have played it better. Smithers was fabulous playing characters that were the embodiment of *evil.*

Bobby was smart but he wasn't clever. As much as he wouldn't admit it, he needed JR's help. Deep down he knew JR was the master. JR did teach him everything he knew. Some say JR was dirty and underhand but so was Jock. It's called business and JR knew every trick in the book. That's how he got the property back. He bought the adjoining land to the gas-line as a deal breaker. He knew the land itself was useless but it was valuable. The right of way across it was priceless. That is how he grabbed Wendell by the balls and refused to let go until he begged for mercy.

Dallas should’ve had Jeremy Wendell escape prison towards the end of season 13 and have him present to reveal he was behind April getting kidnapped and killed in Paris by holding the Ewings, Hillary Taylor and her stepdaughter Jory hostage at Southfork towards the end of Season 14.

On a positive: good look for Bobby standing his ground against Wendell On a negative: None of what Bobby said made any sense when you put this entire scene together. He goes from, "Leave me out of it" to, "Your threats mean dip to me." and then suddenly right to, "If my brother doesn't get ya, I will." with no real transition from one to the other. I half-expected Wendell to look confused and say, "....but wait, are you gonna get me or leave you out of it? Mixed messages here, dude."...... it's like they scripted Bobby a buncha tough-guy things to say and didn't worry about how it'd all look put-together in a conversation.

No it goes back to when earlier in the series JR was going to sell ewing oil to weststar when jock and miss Ellie where talking divorce but when they sorted it out JR backed out of his agreement with Wendell and this particular time was when JR managed to get all the ewing oil assets back that Wendell took at the end of season when JR got involved BD Calhoun JR bought a piece of that land that cliff barnes needed to access his gas pipeline and JR blackmailed him into buying weststar stock in exchange JR allowed him access to his gas pipeline after JR was beaten by sue Ellen Kimberly cryder and Wendell was installed as CEO of weststar again cliff sold Wendell the gas field but JR still had the land needed to access it so JR exchanged that land for all the ewing oil assets Wendell took

Jeremy Wendell is quite a snake! He keeps old JR from taking over WestStar! (which he richly deserved to lose then for mistreating Kimberly Cryder.) Then he finds JR's been shot by Sue Ellen, the Ewing Oil name is back, and he tries to rub it into Bobby. Classic Bobby rubs it back into him. Wendell made a huge mistake here. Bobby and JR were butting heads at that point and that's when the Ewings are at their weakest. But when they are allied, unbeatable and Wendell pushed Bobby to side with JR. Even Wendell has no chance against that combo.

Jeremy Wendell truly was the most ruthless character ever introduced in the Dallas plot. ... West Star Oil was also the most powerful company in the Dallas plot. The simple fact is, J.R. and other characters suffered from weaknesses such as alcohol and doing dumb things while drunk, or they gave in to lustful temptations and got caught cheating on wives. This allowed those people to be blackmailed. Jeremy Wendell didn't suffer from those weaknesses - he was a single guy who was not a drunk and didn't mess around in ways that let him be blackmailed.
