Hi Damian, good shot of falcon and lapwing! I've never managed to take a decent photo in flight😅 Here in summer there are not only kingfishers, but also bee-eaters, and this year we also saw sea jays for the first time 🥰

Oh wow, I'd love to see a bee-eater in the wild, occasionally they pop on over to the UK but I've never been able to go check one out.

The grey heron footage - that was stunning. And beautiful captures of the swallows and lapwings too. And the hobby....! Superb! Well done! As always, a relaxing, enjoyable watch.

Some superb shots as is usual on your trips. It's so relaxing watching your videos, a great combination of informative narration, great video and photos. Going to Ladywalk myself tomorrow, if I see half of what you saw I'll be happy! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the kind words across my videos 😀 This video was shot around two weeks ago but I believe the Hobby should still be about, good luck!

Definitely your best yet, fantastic shots, was lucky enough to see a Hobby catch a House Martin right overhead in my garden! The Hobby turned 180 degrees and grabbed it from underneath with its talons pointing upwards, incredible manoeuvre, sadly no camera to hand. You have nailed it again.

Thank you for your kind words! And wow, I'd love to have seen that, their manoeuvrability is stunning!

Damian. Hobbys do eat Dragonflies. But also small birds like swallows and other birds.
@damianjohnwildlife2 ай бұрын
@@undeaddave as much as I love swallows, it would be really interesting watching a hobby attempt to hunt one

I think you’re right, best yet, video work very nice. The hobby is one raptor we don’t have in US, at least southern part. Thanks

Thank you Gregory! I was really pleased with the images from this one, cheers!

Good video of one of my favourite places to get the Hobbies hunting the dragonflies. Check the voiceover text in the video, quite a few errors.

On the subtitles? I'll have a look, I tend to let the software do it's thing but looks like a more manual approach may be needed. Cheers!

Saw Great Crested Grebes feeding babies at Blithfield last weekend so they may just be late this year as I thought the same as you to be fair.

Must go spend some more time at Ladywalk if the raptors are that active at the moment.

So this video was shot around two weeks ago but I think there should still be a few Hobby knocking about. They're so fun to watch darting above the lake!
