@bastian61733 жыл бұрын
Thank you for bringing this up. Work addiction can become very dangerous. You forget who you are beyond the work and the money. A lot of people today seem very attached to their work. Nothing wrong with being passionate about what you do. Quite the contrary. Just gotta learn to let that go also.
@NaturalArtFreak4 жыл бұрын
This is something I like telling people, do it for the passion not the money, then I start getting comments on how they would make the money then, I started KZbin about a year ago basically with the motive of helping people, I wasnt expecting to be where I am today, but hey who knew... My friends saw my progress thought they could do the same but with the mind for money, they gave up along the way cause they thought it was taking too much time to get views and subs... Shared your video on my WhatsApp and the feedback was good... Subbed.

Then I realized it's the guy with the BMW tracking videos and now you're commenting? WTF is this world, I swear we live in the matrix. Now to your comment haha: Great little story about the giving up. That's exactly what I was trying to say I think. You can go for money but it won't last long. Only real passion will last. You can't cheat your self, it has to be real passion. Of course not everything is always fun, but the core must be. And I still can't believe you commented, so weird ... xD Glad to see you here, you have great videos! Seams like your coming from a similar corner as me.

Well, I'm learning 3D to find a decent job, I don't want a very fancy life style. About 60% of anything I will earn I'm giving it to my parents if they need it. I'm happy doing 3D during the day and playing games during night.
@DamianMathew4 жыл бұрын
That sounds great man, especially the part with your parents. You got it exactly right! Games is a hard industry I think. But do what ever is most fun to you! Basically if you want to make money: imagine I’ll make you 100k $ right now. You will gladly give me 10k because I made you 100k. You get the point? I easily made 10k. Try thinking about that. Try adding value to a customer and he will love to give you money. Also if you do games here’s a Tipp: AR is basically a game and AR is getting really popular and not many people can supply. Your chance to jump on the train - just an idea.

Hey Damian, I feel on the same track at time, trying to find the well balance in life but not yet chosen what better fill me with work/life balance, but some thins still have some influence on me like transportation/consumer products to design, and yeah of-course my wish find some may new niches of products that will be valuable for people and would also nice to find/join proper team to work along with as I have some glimpses it would be super nice and even for this time or remote workflow mostly, well just some of my thoughts on paper. Might be any thoughts back -> would be also meet them with curiosity and who knows may something else sparks with time. BTW also like but longboarding and cruising around town and now on the way to assemble my own(electric-board), already have ordered some electronics(remote, battery, + other hardware), and now on the way with complete of design enclosure for it (electronics bundle) fit it on skate later, and somewhat late, as summer gone , but also might good days come, try to ride it and capture some of experience. Cheers there Damian and luck with continue your channel( can recommend what is the estimate possibility to own your channel and how many views/uploads need to have in average to generate some starting income, and for me I.m (from Ukraine) would be nice even to start as additional income from ~300-500eur/month ) If any thoughts, appreciate then Damian !

Hi, first of all very nice and inspiritative video. I was wondering few days ago where to start with AR visualisation mainly with products. Do you have any tips like some courses or any video on KZbin about visualisation? Have a nice day.
@DamianMathew4 жыл бұрын
Tomáš Karel AR is one of my specialty’s. Unfortunately I haven’t made any videos on that topic. But generally: learn 3D and learn Unity. If you want to learn visualization in general, learn abit of photography. Understand the world. Understand light. Always bake as much light as possible into your model. Try to not use ‘realtime features’ like realtime light. Try to bake everything you can. I hope that helps a bit. Maybe I’ll make some videos about AR in the near future.

@@DamianMathew Thanks for reply. I want just start with AR but i dont know how, this is main problem for me.

Tomáš Karel you’ll need 3D in any case. There are two main AR libraries: ARKit (Apple) and ARCore (Google). You can use Unity3D to create an app using these two libraries. Step1: learn Blender. Step2: learn Unity. Step3: create AR.

I started to make good money with Blender when I was 21. But before that I worked my ass off for free in companies and agencies to learn all the secrets, tricks and just what all is about. I learned to not think of what I need in Blender, but more what the client needs. My main income was from developing /rendering configurators. Also I tried to not think in terms of blender, more in terms of how 3D can benefit a certain task. At the end it’s just a tool.

RWD Cars don't like driving straight xD yes exactly, I am not saying don't earn money and do everything for free. Money will come automatically, I am sure, if you are really passionate about what you are doing. You can fake it and just work hard, but in the long term that doesn't go well. You need to fully stand behind what you do and it will last forever. At least that's what I think now, maybe in 10 years I'll upload a part 2 xD I am really glad you like my videos, I am always excited about finding your comment. You could say: 'But I can't just do something.' Actually you can, because after doing that something for hours and hours I'm sure you'll find the right something. And I am not the perfect role model, I also am not always focused. But I know if I was, I would achieve my goals much faster and it's not about luck.

Also you’ll meet new people but you have to stop when it’s enough or at least change. That’s at least what I noticed over time. I personally did a lot of jobs that you would never expect haha but I learned a lot. If I would’ve stuck with one job I don’t think I would’ve learned much more than I did in that short period.

Modeling and rendering are 2 complete different tasks in a car company, because the car has to actually work and be production ready plus all configuration parts. One person would take years to make one car. And I am not a product designer. Also most product designers will not be doing the fun stuff. Only the elite will be designing the exterior. So yes, I “only” render. But that’s what big and famous photographers do as well.

I agree in general - but if you have a family to feed and rent to pay, you need to earn some money at least :) So the question is - how to find clients? Just mail random companies? Like: here is my portfolio or what :D If you have a video about this, I would gladly watch it :)

@@DamianMathew Well, technically that would be very helpful for a lot of people who are starting out. When it comes to what you want in life and what gives you happiness part, I guess there is not only a huge amount of subjectivity involved there, but also, circumstances and priorities vary. For me personally, for example, being someone from a lower-middle class household in India, I actually want to be able to support my family. I'm doing my engineering from NIT (a good tier -A college) so 3-D modelling is not necessarily the route, but still, I know of so many people with motivation, drive and desire to live a better life and support their families who can be benefited by the guidance or atleast the know how of the procedure of, "How I earned ____ money in Blender." So, it might not be an ideal route for you or me, but might just be a life transformative information for someone. Please do share it. Even I would want know.

Shaurya Pant good point. I was actually even unsure if I should upload this video because talking about money is a shady area. To friends no problem, but these videos are online for everyone. Not that I don’t want people to know my secrets, but I don’t want people to follow things I say that don’t work out I guess. I don’t want people to do what I did because there’s no guarantee it will work again. But I guess wrapping it more as a story and less as a tutorial is okay. I’ll think about. If I go that path, believe me I’ll have a ton to say about it. If you would meet me in real life I could talk for hours about these things.

@DamianMathew4 жыл бұрын
Hm. If you want to sell anything online I’d recommend you learn about marketing. It is hard to build traffic, as you can see on my KZbin channel. If you want my recommendation: try getting an internship somewhere where they do 3D. Get your foot in the door. Learn everything you can in that time. After I’m sure you’ll find a job also if it’s maybe online.

Good Question! It's hard to say, I am not 100% sure myself. But I can tell you, sadly, turning up with an expensive car and jacket or what ever, will make it easier to get bigger deals. If you say 10k, but then come with bus, they will think you are scamming them. That's at least one thing I noticed. But otherwise you also just have to be good at what you do. But I know a lot of people that are better than me and earn way less. Also, one time I got a job I really didn't have time for, so I said for 10k (kind of as a joke). I got the job and finished it in 5 days. Also, what I recently noticed, now days I just look kind of broke actually, because I just don't care. I noticed people treat me like I am broke. But the funny part is when they then find out a thing or two about me, then suddenly they treat me even richer than when I had the mustangs, because I don't show it. So it's really hard to say, but reputation is the biggest here and you for sure can fake reputation.
@DamianMathew3 жыл бұрын
also, sum up: 2 people come for the job. Both are the same, except one comes with G-Class and the other with old Polo. Guess who gets the job. I guarantee you the G-Class. Joke is: you can rent a g-class.
@pianoscapes093 жыл бұрын
@@DamianMathew well appearance has a big impact fot sure but you also got to be good at delivering for what you get paid. 3d and blender was always just a hobby for me but i love it so much, i could use blender like 14 hours a day and i really want to make a living out of it. i would say my lever is intermediate i still got a lot to learn but i don’t even know where to start when searching for a job in that industry. and to be honest i would quite enjoy getting paid 30k per month but i don’t think something like that’s ever gonna happen
@DamianMathew3 жыл бұрын
@@pianoscapes09 Yes, I started as a 'normal guy'. But I quickly realized it was easy to double the income once successful. Also, a good portfolio doesn't mean good art. It means having big brands in the portfolio. The companies need to trust you. If you have money or have worked for big boys, they are likely to trust you even tho they don't know you. I also noticed with KZbin. My KZbin isn't big, but people think I know a lot, because I am not scared to share my knowledge. So even KZbin to be honest brought me some jobs easier, even tho I am sure they havnt watched one video xD It is all about what you look like from the outside, I swear. And if you think you won't earn much, I'm sure you probably won't. Think big. Say 10k per month, and you will get near there. Say 1k per mounth and maybe you will earn 100$ per month. Let people feel how valuable you are. If they feel you are worthless, they will pay you exactly that - nothing. Just keep trying, and you will find a way at some point.
