Ok Damon i’ll sum it up for you: 1. You DO need to use oil when making pancakes, preferably not olive oil but honestly if you don’t mind the taste go for it. 2. Do NOT use oil for oatmeal. 3. Peanut butter doesn’t have to be refrigerated, but should be stored in a cool place. 4. The whole point of a kettle is that it boils the water faster. Use and abuse that bouilloire! 5. No, you don’t need to put the kitchen scale on the ground, the weight doesn't change based on height. 6. Please KEEP THE LID ON. It’ll cook faster (more pressure in the pot = Damon eats sooner) 7. Leave a bit of space between the lid and the pot for air to escape, otherwise the pressure will build up and it’ll overflow. 8. If you don’t want burned stuff at the bottom, use a nonstick pan + oil or a pot + oil, but when you’re cooking rice/pasta just use enough water and stir frequently. 9. Cooking everything at a high heat will result in a burnt outside and a raw inside. Use high heat to boil, medium heat to cook. 10. Make sure the oil is hot before you cook things in it (or you’ll get uncooked oil soaked food) 11. Honey can’t go bad, unless you lick the spoon and get saliva in it. Crystallization is a natural process that occurs in sugars, it’s okay. That’s it. Sincerely, a 19 year old that was traumatized by your cooking.

Important addition: the reason your pan got too hot even when it was on low was because your heating element was on. Even if the heat is on low, it still builds up. When you're cooking, you're allowed to play with the heating element. If it's too hot, you can turn it to low or even turn it off for a little bit!

Answering some of your questions: YES raw oats are safe to eat so you don't have to wait for them to “cook”, the cooking just makes them easier to digest. NO you don't have to refrigerate peanut butter although it will last longer if you do NO you don't NEED to add salt to your boiling water for rice in order for it to cook properly (like pasta) but it will enhance the flavour so why not Also use a lid if you want to prevent liquids from evaporating further - like stews and sauces that are already at the right consistency YES some nutrients are lost when you cook spinach but raw spinach can interfere with the absorption of iron and calcium in your body - but both have their own benefits Crystalized honey has not expired! It's a natural process that happens to the sugars in the honey and it can be decrystallized it in a warm water bath
@sofiamar73073 жыл бұрын
What do you mean "you don't need to add salt"? Where are you from? Here in Portugal I always add salt in rice. That's one of the basic ingredients. Olive oil, onion and salt. We always make fun when someone forgets to add the salt, it's tasteless.
@prsten11493 жыл бұрын

Get an extension cord for your toaster before you burn yourself. 3. Find a small countertop height work surface (maybe with wheels so you can move it around), possibly butcher block? This is why I love your channel, instead of being extra precise for the camera you show us how to make these things the way we actually will

Damon, you are hysterical! I had a pop-up of one of your videos 3 days ago when I searched for "Americans living in Paris." I've watched 20+ videos since then. I live in Roswell, GA (Atlanta) and love to travel. I'm 70% French and a TOTAL Francophile. I visited Paris with my oldest daughter in 2013. We rented an Airbnb on Rue de Baigneur in Montmartre. By the end of our 2nd day in Paris, I told my daughter "This is where I belong. I instantly felt comfortable - I'm "home." If I was your age, Damon, I'd be living in Paris too.🗼I would find an apartment near Luxembourg Gardens and live happily ever after.🌷 As a history, art and book lover, I was in heaven exploring Paris. One morning, my daughter and I walked the same route Gertrude Stein and Alice Toklas took.from their salon to Luxembourg Gardens where they walked their standard poodle, Basket. Amazing to find a photo of them in LG standing next to the same green metal 100+ yr old bench my daughter and I sat on while enjoying pastries and cappucinos one sunny afternoon in LG. Waiter at Cafe Deux Magots told us their chairs are the.same cane chairs Hemingway, Sartre, Dali et al sat on. If they get a tear in them, they just have the spots rewoven. We stayed in a building that was 400 years old and I loved that the floor creaked and was uneven. Americans want to demo everything and turn it into a sterile box. Anyway, I will continue watching your incredible videos and dream of living in Paris myself. If you haven't already, please do a video on Pere Lachaise. That was one of my favorite places when I visited Paris. I love history and many of my favorite writers are buried there, like Oscar Wilde. BTW, you speak French BEAUTIFULLY. 🙋♀️🗼❤

But Damon, what do you do on those days that you come home late and you don't feel like doing the dishes and you just kind of want to let them sit there in your sink because you can, but you only have one fork? What then?
@damondominique3 жыл бұрын
no No NOOOOOO. the fork must *always* remain clean! the rest of the dishes can *stay* there.
