I saw them in denver on this tour. He used an Alpha Aluminum snare, and that destroyed the other snares being used by the other bands. The kit blew a tama b/b and tama acrylic out of the water. I wouldnt have believed it before, but somehow SJC actually has a distinctive sound, and that sound translates over live micing better than anything else I've heard.

Don't wanna say anything against SJC, we should just not underestimate the work of the FOH-guy. they can ruin a lot or in this case possibly cause such an epic sound. I have not been there, I just want to throw that into consideration ;-)
