Thanks for your reaction to Dan's music and words. He is a stand up guy. As to your your question about the drums, I believe that most of the time he uses programmable guitars, although sometimes he uses an arrangement by someone else that may feature live drumming. I am still looking forward to your reaction of Dan singing with Petra, Beyond Belief.

Thank you Sir for reacting to Dan. He’s my favorite. One year ago he popped up on my phone. Don’t know why because I never listen to music on KZbin. After 01.01.24 - I have listen to all his songs more than 10-20 times with different reactors. And that he is Christian is a glorious plus’s. Love from Norway❤

Dan's not using a drummer here. If he was, the drummer would be credited on the video. He does drums himself digitally.
@farmerann11 күн бұрын
Actually, Dan may be using a drummer here. I went back to the video, and it says instrumental by Garrett Peters. Anytime Dan uses musicians, he always credits them under the video. If no one is credited, that means Dan did it all himself.

I agree with your assessment about the difficulty of singing the song itself. WHEW! It's one I've sung many, many times, at different ceremonies, over the years. My favorite way of presenting it, though, was when I was first chair "trumpet" (playing my beautiful silver cornet) in our high school band, and got to play it for a ceremony. I also got to play "Taps" for the annual memorial service that is (still) held every year in Valdez, at the docks, since the 1964 earthquake took out so many of our residents ... just gone ... you can get to that story by way of the video on my channel called "03/27/2024--The Big 1964 Alaska Earthquake-My Memories--03/27/1964". I don't know if you've ever "read up" on the writing of our anthem in the first place. Google gives permission through their AI comment (always at the top when you search for something, now). Here's what is in the AI answer to my query, which was simply, "the writing of the Star Spangled Banner." AI Quote (remember, AI only happens due to input from people who already have assessed and written these things -- past and present) ... Francis Scott Key wrote The Star-Spangled Banner in 1814 after witnessing the American flag flying over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland. The poem was originally titled Defence of Fort M'Henry. [1, 2, 3] How it was written [4, 5] • Key was a lawyer and amateur poet from Maryland. [4, 5] • He was detained by the British during the bombardment of Fort McHenry. [4, 5] • On September 14, 1814, Key saw the American flag flying over the fort and was inspired to write the poem. [2, 5] • He rewrote the poem in a Baltimore hotel and it was published anonymously. [5] • The song was set to the tune of "To Anacreon in Heaven," the theme song of the British Anacreontic Society. [5] How it became the national anthem [1] • The song became popular and was recognized as the unofficial national anthem. • In 1931, Congress officially adopted it as the United States national anthem. Other facts [4] • The song was popular in military bands and played at ceremonies. [4] • President Woodrow Wilson adopted it as a de facto national anthem in 1916. [6] • Key composed other verses, but none were as well known as The Star-Spangled Banner. [7]

@@sully.2435 YW! There's actually quite a bit more to what Key saw and what he knew had happened, when he was inspired to write the poem on September 14, 1814. It brings me to tears every time I read about it, but they are tears of triumph, which is why the way Dan sings the song is SO good! 😀

Sully, I'm still on my KZbin break, but I had to come see what I'm missing. I won't be watching any reactions for another week, but while I was here, I wanted to say that two songs that feature kickbutt drumming (well, I'm not a drummer, but seemed pretty awesome to me) with Dan singing are "Tale with no End" by his band Fearless (which features all of them performing, not just Dan). His childhood friends and brothers are the other members of his band. I think unfortunately this is the only video of their band on KZbin, sadly. The rest of those Fearless songs are on other audio streaming platforms. The second song is a song Dan co-wrote with one of members of the band Confessori called "where the Eagles Fly" and features the band Confessori playing while Dan is singing. I think both these songs have good/appropriate lyrics. Anyway, just wanted to suggest those since I know you are a drummer, and you like metal. See you around next week and looking forward to catching up on reactions.

YES!!!! PLEASE!!! Also, there is Dan's second go with "Dawn of Victory." His older version is solo. The newer version, which shows Dan's JOY so beautifully, is LIVE with Fabio Lione, plus with Gabriel (guitars), Giovanni (drums, drums, and more drums), and Davi (Dah-VEE) -- Dan's two-year-younger brother (bass). From eight years ago, here's the older video name (I'd say you should react to it first, then do the other one) ... "Dawn Of Victory" - RHAPSODY OF FIRE cover From two years ago, here's the newer video, with the band and Fabio ... "Dawn Of Victory" ft. FABIO LIONE - Rhapsody Cover

Recently, I've seen some nat'l anthem performances from England, Scotland, Canada & France that are beautiful. As an American vet, I'm proud I served w/Brits in Kuwait & Iraq. Patriotism is something I love in USA (or w/our Allies who don't hv Freedom of Speach & Right to Bear Arms we take for granted). We're all going thru tough times, need to be strong & united now more than ever. Wish it didn't take a threat or attack on our great (but hurting) nation for Americans to release the joy & love in our hearts. Nothing like when Nat'l Anthem sang loud & proud by an audience. It's better "news" to see public displays of negativity & hate. We can & shld hv disagreements, but there's No greater public display than love & pride in a thing that shld unite us.

I dont know if you know the true story behind why and when Franis Scot Key wrote these words. If not hope you might get a chance to hear or read about why that song words has so much pride and power to us Americans. Dan did an awesome version of this song for sure. Ty for video.

The finger from the pocket was a comedian, I think George Carlin, in the late 80's early 90's. It was a gift to all who pushed for political correctness.
