Thanks for your reaction! In my opinion, Dan did not sing the national anthem with anger, but rather with intensity. Isn't it also remarkable that, as a Brazilian, he sings this anthem with so much passion? His “apology” shows a clear attitude! My full respect and love for that! Vasc Nation ❤️🤟❤️

I am starting to believe Dan will make you a converted metal head. You won't be disapointed because his metal screams are awsome, as he is able to sing them, and his enunciation of the songs words has made us fans understand the lyrics better, sometimes for the first time. Thanks for the reaction!

I am so happy that you are enjoying listening to Dan’s music. He is a Cristian and has some beautiful Christmas songs on his channel. I know you said you are not keen on metal music and I didn’t enjoy it either but hearing Dan singing it has converted me. He is a true artist who is able to draw you in with his incredible voice. He also has a most wonderful version of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” where he sings twenty four parts himself to make up the whole choir which is spectacular. Anyway, enough rambling from me and thank you for sharing your thoughts on his work and look forward to seeing more. : )

Thank you for your continued support and excellent response to these two videos. I'm a German fan and hats off to Dan for singing the US national anthem as a Brazilian. He certainly knew beforehand that he would face headwinds, especially from Brazil. His apology is bold, but he is right. There will always be someone who has something to complain about. Excellent! Everything you said, and Dan's version of our National Anthem, as well as his "apology." That was classic! Everything he touches turns to gold! ~ Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your service. I will "accost" people in the grocery store, wait by their vehicle in the post office parking lot, and -- when I was working -- buy their lunch, if they're wearing a uniform in a restaurant, just to thank them and get to shake their hand. It's not every day that you get to shake the hand of someone who was/is willing to die for you. When you joined and signed on that line, you pledged to defend our rights and freedom, no matter what it called for, even to the "nth" degree. You did that for all of us "back home" but I am included in that "all" and I take it personally. I am getting older (Viet Nam was my era) and I may never get to do that personally, but I can at least thank you. THANK YOU for your service.

I totally agree with Dan "Stand up for what you believe in"! Ofcourse we know that this is being made harder for us to do at this stage in time🙄😉 I enjoyed Dan's rendition of this. Dan is classically trained and I'm sure you'd really enjoy some of his classical pieces. His version of "The Music of the Night", from The Phantom of the Opera. Also, Nessum Dorma and the "Hallelujah Chorus", a one man choir, which is a real work of art. Hoping for more Dan reactions, thankyou😃

Regarding the bit of an angry tone, I think you're right. The thing is, Dan lives in Brazil, which has been fighting oppression and repression for a LONG time. Then, since 2022, the fight has even intensified. Also, Dan was brought up to respect the U.S. and its stand for liberty. Knowing how we, also, are in the middle of a time of oppression and repression, as well, I think when he intentionally did this song as "a homage" to the 4th of July celebration in the U.S., in 2022, he was also making that stand...in the face of all resistance. Dan is forever a WARRIOR. I understand that. I, too, am a warrior. I think you are, too. 😀 Musically, on the "banner" phrasing, that was the first thing that REALLY hit me, when I heard it for the first time, and I love it, too. I've soloed that song SO many times, in my past, and that's one way that I had never sung it before. Now, when I sing it (for myself), I sing it exactly that way. Onward to the "apology." Aha! I figured that your reaction would be what it was. I was the same way when I saw it for the first time. I didn't know Dan that well at that time, BUT...I really COULDN'T believe that he was ACTUALLY going to apologize about the Anthem. I was HUGELY please when he did NOT, and that he he went about it, the way he did. My husband agrees, as well. As for the shirt--right now, Dan's merch store is still down, but he said a couple of months back, that he would like to get it back up and running. The company that he was using (Represent) sold out to another company (Cameo), and some of the stores were discontinued...Dan's being one of them. That was back in October. Dan's been pretty busy since then, but if he said he would get it done, I'm sure he will...as soon as he can. I'll bet there will be a BIG rush on that particular shirt. GREAT reactions. I have to shake my head when I see people complaining about Dan not releasing anything new (he addressed that very thing in the 2nd episode of "Bro Science" on KZbin, on Wednesday 05/09/2024). He has things in the works, but there's just no way he can get new vids out as often as he used to. Plus the quality of the ones he DOES get out are WAY higher than the older ones, which is important to him. If people would just look around a bit at OTHER KZbin entrepreneurs, they wouldn't see NEARLY as many new things occurring as Dan's presentations. During the last 12 months, Dan has posted: 04/07/2023 -- on his own channel -- "Amazing Grace" 05/12/2023 -- on the Ricardo Confessori channel -- "Where the Eagles Fly" (original lyrics by Dan, original music by Ricardo) 10/31/2023 -- on his own channel -- "The Number of the Beast" 12/21/2023 -- on his own channel -- "O Holy Night" 02/26/2024 -- on his own channel -- "My Heart Will Go On" Plus, we also got to hear Minniva's and his version of "Beauty and the Beast" during the last year, even though she had recorded it TWO years ago and finally posted it this year, after she got back to singing again. As for the number of NEW songs from Dan, that was five NEW songs beginning with April 7, 2023 and ending with (today) May 10, 2024. Now, Home Free has posted about twice that many NEW ones for the same space of time, BUT...their studio work is done by Darren Rust (an old friend of the group, and a private producer) at his Skyland Studios. Dan does his own studio work, with bits and pieces here and there sent out to friends in the business, to be worked up. You'll rarely find other artists who get even three or four NEW songs out in a year's time. Dan is not "Superman," even though we kind of tend to think of him that way. 😀

Need someone to cut through the flack? Dan's the man. Wonder what it looks like when you're talking to a brick wall? Dan's gotcha covered. Need motivation to not mind the wimps so you can follow your own heart? Dan's got this! So many things fly through my mind, but anger isn't one of them. (Probably because i feel like i know where he's coming from). Thank you for sharing both, in context! It took me a few times through before I finally discovered the beauty in his delivery of this once cherished song. The beauty of power, strength, determination, integrity, & commitment. P.S. there are many sublets of metal. Dan excels at highlighting whichever sub fits his emotions to the song. For beginners to metal, (like me), i recommend My Mother Told Me, Toss A Coin, Priscilla's Song, ...his entire Witcher Series of songs, then branch out into Bring Me To Life, Rolling in the Deep, Poker Face, and even O Holy Night and Amazing Grace. Thanks for doing that I had never heard of that artist. 1. I think he killed it. 2. I had a range of emotions expecting some apology but yeah 3. Whitney Houston 10 days into the Persian Gulf War in 1991 and we all was worried and we new Whitney was excellent but what she did that day made we feel as a much younger person we going to be ok.

I like your reaction, but i don't agree that Dan sings the anthem from an angry perspective. Maybe it's an issue of understanding what metal music is, and that it's not always about anger - (some of it is) - but what you might learn about Dan is, that he's all about power, strength, freedom, and passion, and that's exactly what i think he's expressing in his rendition of Star Spangled Banner. While there may be songs, where he does project anger, it will be because the lyrics and message of the song calls for it, and not just because he's singing heavy metal.
