@ as I get older I’m not a fan of Winter, I really enjoy your videos, you have vast knowledge of handguns, which I enjoy. Due to being left-handed and have a pace maker, I had to give up rifles and shotguns, which I use to enjoy. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Good stuff as alway, Rider. I am not a big 1911 guy, but alway enjoy you showing us all the different modern versions of that classic gun. Merry Christmas to ye, sir! 🎅🏻🎄

You hit the 6” plate at 50 yards, so it’s a good pistol. Have a very Merry Christmas, Harley! 🎄🎉🎅🏻

Great shooting as always! I have never tried TCP but I do own ECP. ECP has no pic rail and magwell, otherwise it’s very similar pistol with the same brass bead. Yes, it also gets out of battery from time to time! Initially every 30-40 rounds, then every 80-100 rounds. Now it does it every 150 rounds. I believe it still did not reach 1000 rounds. I also remember that it did not like to feed the first hollow point round, but it did cycle those without issues. It happened with Fiocchi JHP only. ECP feels slightly more comfortable and accurate than C2. The 1911 style metal frame with the grip make it more manageable during firing. However, with C2 I have never experienced any types of malfunctions after more than 4000 rounds. Guardian has mysterious reliability! I passed 5000 rounds through it, and it failed to feed only once, after my son slammed the mag so harshly, so it got warped inside the frame. I carry Guardian since it’s so reliable, has tritium sights, and very comfortable to shoot. It looks like TCP is a compact and carryable pistol! Needs break in period which is unusual for 9mm 1911 from DW, but the barrel and recoil systems are different. Thanks for the review!

As always, nice fun and good comparisons. The slide may be compact but not the grip. Probably good to shoot though with that longer grip. 👍🏻

I actually did sight it in, just frustrated with those issues and it hasn't come out much. I wanted a 5" single stack 1911 in 9mm with an optic cut, but DW is a really nice manufacturer so I too this since it was optic ready. Never meant for it to be a carry gun, hence no worries about iron sights yet. Also, the dovetail is different size so you can't just bring over the sights from the plate and it's at a different height. Not a terribly important project so I will take my time with it

Great review. Which model impressed you the most: Kimber Carbon or Dan Wesson TCP?
@RidersRange23 күн бұрын
They are both fine guns in their own right, though different styles for different preferences. Both enjoyable to shoot, but I wouldn't carry either one. Thanks for watching.

My favorite carry gun is the original single-stack Staccato C wearing a Swampfox Sentinel green dot.

I was prepared to buy this gun in 45. Then the new Springfield trp carry came out so I bought it instead. Should have bought the tcp.
@RidersRange23 күн бұрын
What didn't you like about the Springfield?
@BLACKWOLF-191123 күн бұрын
@@RidersRange The machining was terrible, it wouldn't go into battery, failure to feed. I sent it back to Springfield and they said they tuned the extractor and polished the feed ramp. Got it back, same problem. Since I plan on keeping it, I sent it to nighthawk and they did a great job. I told them to replace all the mim parts and do a reliably package on it. Thousand dollars later and now it runs flawlessly. That's an expensive lesson learned.
@RidersRange23 күн бұрын
Expensive lesson, yes, but Nighthawk does great work. So you ended up paying for a sorta-of Nighthawk at half the price.

I recently purchased TRP 5 inch… the worst 1911 in my collection! Trigger is 6 lbs at least, MIM parts everywhere, slide is rattling even with hammer being de-cocked! Failure to feed every 50 rounds. I also own Ronin, and got rid of Prodigy 2022. No more SA pistols for me. Try Bul Armory EDC with pic rail, magwell, fiber optic and adjustable rear! I believe they (Bul armory online) still have it in stock. I own 5 inch Government and I bought the second one recently. It’s easily one of the best 1911s in 45 ACP, since I have never tried their 9mm versions.

@6793student In 2019 I bought a 3.25 lightweight 45cal magnum research undercover. I bought it because even hardcore 1911 guy's didn't know that magnum research buys those from bul armory made in Israel. Best carry 1911 I own. That one I sent out and had it two toned, forged thumb saftey, slide stop and other stuff. I wish they made the bul ultra in 45, I'd be all over it.
