A bunch of people are suggesting checking out “Who’s Going to Be the One” or “Perennial” (live at Wacken), and I can’t disagree-those would be fantastic next tracks to check out. And just as a preemptive heads-up: If you might like to pronounce “Wacken” like the locals, one would say “Vah-ken.” (In German, “W” is pronounced like a “V” is in English.) I’m only mentioning that part just since most folks seem to stumble over that one a bit.

@Morbid Angel is better than Death lol, calling yourself out for utter ignorance of all art, science, and any other human endeavor. Nobody does anything that hasn't been done before. Even the most revolutionary invention is built on untold prior inventions. As Newton said "we can reach the stars because we stand on the shoulders of giants."
@PathodDayshade4 жыл бұрын
@@j.f.fisher5318 I mean, that's really not true in this context. How do new genres come to exist if everything has been done before? Yes it's built from something, but it's still new. You can't tell me technical/progressive death metal for example isn't something new and original because jazz and classical music exist. Jinjer is not completely unoriginal, and IMO is much better than a lot of mainstream shit that's being released on metal labels these days, but I'd agree with the dude above that they're hardly the best or bring much new to the table, they're just talented musicians. There's so much more innovative stuff in metal if you just search beyond the surface, for example - White Ward's "Love Exchange Failure" which combines black metal and jazz (and happens to be from Ukraine also).
@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
@@PathodDayshade look at Star Wars, it is just The Hidden Fortress with scifi stuff swapped in, plus some WW2 fighter movies for the dogfights - compare the trench section to the 1976 Midway movie. Roddenberry called Star Trek a wagon train movie to the stars. In music, first person to use growls was sometime in distant antiquity, Vikings maybe, who knows. A new genre is just enough tweaks to something existing to seem new. But no new genre is starting from a blank slate, throwing everything out, and starting over. Closest you could come would be electronic noise music that is just noise.
@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
@Morbid Angel is better than Death lol, way to call yourself out for not understanding terminology of rhetoric and propaganda. A strawman is replacing one's opponent with a fake version you can knock down. You said "they don't do anything that hasn't already been done before" and that applies to all artists, no matter. This is so great lol. Its so good to see young ppl and new generations actually giving music that I've been into since I was a kid and not turning away from it cuz it "sounds" scarey or "noisey". Where I grew up and when, it wasn't like this. Very narrow minded thinking and unacceptance all because it was different or "too much". You girls really should go back over alot of these videos you watch with lyric sheets and develop your reading comprehension for the messages the songs are trying to send and say. It will open up a whole new level of feeling to the actual song, and especially if you can relate to them on any level. Keep at it girls, you won't regret it, I promise.
