In this horror-thriller, a shaman instructs Mila to return a mystical bracelet, the Kawaturih, to the “Dancing Village,” a remote site on the easternmost tip of Java Island. Joined by her cousin, Yuda, and his friends Jito and Arya, Mila arrives on the island only to discover that the village elder has passed away, and that the new guardian, Mbah Buyut, isn’t present. Various strange and eerie events occur while awaiting Mbah Buyut’s return, including Mila being visited by Badarawuhi, a mysterious, mythical being who rules the village. When she decides to return the Kawaturih without the help of Mgah Buyut, Mila threatens the village’s safety, and she must join a ritual to select the new “Dawuh,” a cursed soul forced to dance for the rest of her life.

I didn't like the first movie but i saw this new one in an IMAX theater in Indonesia a few days ago and i can confirm that this is a superior movie than the first. Aulia Sarah once again was fantastic as Badaruwhi and Maudy Effrosina is scream queen in the making right there, fantastic performance from her. The climax alone is better than the previous movie's entirety 🙌

Watching this movie last Monday. And i fell in love to it directly. Less gore and jumpscare but dark and creepy setting they used, and with great story telling made it even more stunning than any other movie that focus on jumpscare and the present of monsters and ghosts. You guys should watch this, I think it has a Shyamalan movie vibe, where I feel the hype on the horror-like scenes. Like the unbreakable trilogy, the scenes feels awesome and scary.
