Remember Shazam from when I was a kid. Always was a cool character, but there are a number of issues with his name. He’s supposed to be named for the gods his powers come from. But: Solomon was an OT prophet, not a god. Hercules was a demigod Achilles was a soldier, not a god. Atlas was a Titan, not a god.

Hyperion seems too brutal for shazam to handle. He is a monster that has killed many heroes with shazam's powerset. Shazam is a powerhouse but he is not that brutal which was why he had trouble stopping black adam when he went on a rampage and he stomped many superheroes and I think I saw in one page he stood above the entire shazam family who laid unconscious on the ground. Hyperion seems like a stronger version of black adam in some ways but way more brutal. I think king hyperion will win but shazam won't make it easy for him.

Hyperion isn't stronger than Black Adam... he's feats are vastly inferior. On top of that, brutality honestly doesn't matter if you're not as strong or fast as the person you're fighting. Shazam is in the same ballpark as Superman and Superman > Hyperion. Hyperion was struggling against a weakened version of juggernaut, who's no where near as powerful as Shazam.

His feats are way above juggernaut's even at full power. He has defeated countless heroes in other worlds including sentries and thors and even teams of superheroes combined. And he barely lost to blue marvel of universe 616 who scales at sentry's level. Black adam doesn't have feats like king hyperion. But he has great feats to be honest.

When Captain Marvel fought Eclipso-Superman, he was REALLY trying to take Superman down, but he got beaten SO badly that, when he was finally able to pick himself up off the ground, all he could say was that he felt like puking. When it comes down to it, Superman is the stronger, faster, more durable, and generally more powerful of the two.

That Bad Muthafucka+ Depends on Tony’s suit. Some would beat Booster Gold, others would lose. . Valkyrie. She’s got a physical advantage and has better fighting experience (although admittedly not as varied fighting knowledge). . Current Carol Danvers is around Supergirl’s level having received quite a few buffs since her Ms Marvel days. She’d beat Blue Beetle who’s still somewhat inexperienced with his powers. . Wonder Man. He may or may not be as strong but he can turn onto pure energy making him immune to physical attacks (and this anything Damage can throw at him) and worse case scenario, he just outlasts Damage for an hour and then it’s game over. . Wasp. She’s the OG with more and better established feats.

Shazam is a grossly underated character. With the power of Zeus amp-ing all his powers, Shazam would be nigh invulnerable. Instead the character has been written time and time again as a child which I gather is the plot device to keep him from outshining superman. I mean if he has the powers of Zeus and wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules and Zeus etc(precognition/battle awareness) he would be too op. Superman wouldn't even come close. Still Shazam is a great character with great potential, I just wish they'd develop him more in the use of his powers without the child like aspect.

King Hyperion, is one of the most Overrated/Overhyped characters that can't beat a depowered Juggernaut and broke his hand just by punching him, got koed by Blink teleporting sand in him, got koed by Mimic with Colossus powers going at half the speed of light, and couldn't even move a meteor without help.

Captain Marvel (shazam) always. I like Hyperion and all, but even DC tries to down play how awesome our fawcett boy is. He's been seen out running the flash, because mercury is speed and the speed force is just part of him. Amp that up with the power of zues and it's no contest. Knocking superman out in 2 punches. Hyperion could never do that. He never tires and can take beating made to destroy entire universes. Billy Batson is the ultimate hero.

Agree Shazam probably, but would note when Juggernaut was beating on King Hyperion, Hyperion was suffering from argonite poisoning. King Hyperion has a chance here. Blue Marvel was nearly beaten before coming back to win. King Hyperion killed the heaviest hitters in several different realities (Hulk, Blue Marvel, Thor, Sentry, beat down 2 Hypes at once, etc). Not sure if the heat vision of Marvel Superman pastiches can kill Shazam, as Superman's has infinite potential for heat and types of energy (many x hotter than a star), and most of them can just burn at least as hot as the sun or slightly hotter, but it could definitely hurt him.

King Hyperion has no morals, and has no qualms, about killing his opponents. He went on a multiverse rampage, killing all the strong guys that he encountered. Multiple versions of Thor, Hulk, Sentry, Blue Marvel, even Galactus, fell to his power. Shazam is the ultimate good guy, who does not generally fight to the death, and also fights with morals on, not resorting to dirty tricks to give himself the upper hand, like King Hyperion would.

This is a decent fight but like it was already stated, King Hyperion is more Hype than feats and most of his best feats are against alternate versions of characters. His showings against the 616 versions however are from from as impressive. Shazam will take this fight with magic and better feats overall.

@@Zurround+ First up, I said Shazam would win - but that is in part due to magic as well as having overall better feats. Superman has no magical abilities to speak of and instead relies on identical the powers to Hyperion. Shazam also has the ability to amp his powers DRASTICALLY with magic which he's done on a few (though limited) occasions. In one instance, he KOes Superman in 2 hits when usually they can go for hours non-stop and not KO each other. Hell, Shazam was even able to tap into magic from all the magic users on earth and amp himself enough to fight the Spectre in Days of Vengeance. . Superman and Shazam are comparable physically and it's been made clear by DC that they are equals in that regard however, Shazam has a handful of very meta reasons why he is mostly kept out of the limelight compared to Clark and one of them is that DC just isn't really comfortable woth spotlighting characters that can reliably defeat their flagship characters in objective battles.

@@Zurround+ This is exactly the case. Especially for Shazam. Back in the early days when Superman was exactly that, just a super man, he was being outsold by Shazam. Superman was "faster than a speeding bullet" referring to his speed - he was only just able to break the sound barrier. He was "more powerful than a locomotive" - referring to his strength in that he could overpower a locomotive train. And could "leap tall buildings in a single bound" because back then, Superman couldn't even fly. Meanwhile, Shazam, who was always "Earth's Mightiest Mortal" and had powers directly from the Gods was flying through Space at extremely faster than light speeds, laughing at physics, shifting planets with his strength alone and so on. Hell, even Mary Marvel and his siblings were capable of this stuff. . The issue was that Superman was owned by DC as always but at the time, Shazam was owned by a company called Fawcett Comics. Shazam (Captain Marvel back then) was their top seller and was outselling Superman by a pretty massive margin. To try and compensate for this, DC amped up Superman's power to be more in line with Shazam's power and adding some extra abilities Shazam didn't have. This is when Superman was given the ability to fly and his physical speed, durability and strength were increased exponentially. He was also given heat vision, X-ray vision, binocular vision, microscopic vision, super hearing, super breath and freeze breath. Basically, he became the wildly powerful "Silver Age Superman" people talk about who was incredibly inconsistent (this same Superman tanked the big bang like nothing but was later knocked out and incapacitated by an exploding Gas station) and basically got given whatever made up power the plot demanded at the time. Seriously. At one point, Superman even gained the Power of "Super Ventriloquism". That's not a joke. . In any case, despite this new version of Clark and and a noticeable pick-up in sales, DC's Superman was still getting outsold by Fawcett's Captain Marvel (Shazam). So, DC took Fawcett to court for having a character too similar to their own. This was a time when corruption in the courts was far more prevalent than it is today and while it's never been "offically" admitted, DC basically paid off the important people in the case to have it go their way. Sure, it didn't help that DC had copywrited the shit out of their "new" Superman specifically in preparation for the lawsuit they were planning while Fawcett had been a little lax about it with Captain Marvel and were frankly too trusting and naive for their own good. So even though it was clear and obvious that Captain Marvel was the original "Superman Style" character due to previous publications showing clear evidence of it, DC won based on a cotestavle technicality and a little paying off of the right people to boost their chances. . As a result of winning the case, DC got the rights to the "Superman" Style of character and Fawcett was forced to pay out DC for a breach of copywrite law which in turn ended with Fawcett going broke and being forced to sell the rights to Captain Marvel to DC as well. Ever since then, DC has been careful to keep Shazam in Superman's shadow because they aren't comfortable with having characters that can reliably defeat their mainstay characters like Superman and Wonder Woman - especially when they were created by another company. It's not as bad as it used to be though at least. Early Shazam comics written by DC were actively insulting to Shazam - especially when it came to him being compared with Superman. . The same is kinds true with Martian Manhunter as well but there's no long history involved with that. It's just that J'onn has evolved from the "Superman stand-in" he used to be for stories that DC needed a Superman like figure in but didn't want to oversaturate their comics with Clark being in everything. As Manhunter became more fleshed out it started to become apparent that he was actually more powerful than Superman and therefore DC was again careful to not allow him to become too prominent and always had Superman being the one to come in and save the day when all seemed lost.

In his earlier years, Captain Marvel/Shazam regularly pushed stars, even a titanic star.... Let us not forget that he has the strength that was used to hold up the very heavens themselves. As with the courage of Achilles he also posses the fighting abilities and prowess of him. Shazam is immortal. he survived being turned inside out by a Tesseract bomb, and Zeus himself states that Shazam can not die unless "He, Shazam" says die. And from what I understand, that speed list was an opinion piece, not official. He and WW get their speed from the same source. Except Shazam also has the speed of Zeus as well.
